The Arcane Archer's

The Arcane Archer's
Day 1's

(A/N- makes some minor changes to the previous chapter in its status.)

Pulling bows and arrows full of arrows from the inventory, I equipped them and thanked them for my luck for giving me the weapons I had practiced all my life.

After making sure everything tightened properly and would not fall as soon as I moved, I looked up at the sky for time. A quick glance easily told me that it was around noon and I had plenty of time before night.

Not knowing where the closest civilization was in this new world, I could only assume that I would have to survive a few nights here.

Placing a bow on my back, I started running in a random direction in hopes of finding something useful that would help me survive the night. After a few minutes of running, I heard something hard fall.

I immediately stopped running, crouched down, and took out a bow. Before just running into danger whatever the loud noise was, I made sure to prepare everything I could and pull the arrow out and prepare it.

Finally as it was ready, I began to clandestinely pass through the noise. After about 30 seconds of my gruesome exploration, the system rang.

[*Ding! * Happy to get {Sneak} skill. At the current level, it will only help a little to hide your presence. Be sure to practice this skill so that one day you can reach the Skyrim sneak level where you can crouch down and disappear!]

"Ah, that would be very helpful in this situation."

Once again continuing, I finally got to the place where the loud noise had occurred. What I saw when there was a huge ish snake wrapping itself around the fox like a creature. A little nearby was a broken branch from a nearby tree.

Combining two and two together in my head, I can only assume that the snake wrapped itself in whatever this creature was and its burden was too great for the branch below them and to fall.

Still careful, instead of just shooting at the arrows, I threw the arrows away, threw a bow at my back. Then I started climbing the nearest tree as best I could.

With my terrifying strength that I now know is from my mutation as the system calls it, I struggled to get up but succeeded after a minute.

[*Ding! * Sneaking is now Level 2., you are now a little calmer when doing anything while sneaking.]

"Once again, it will be useful for what I will do."

In the tree I walked to the sturdy branch and prepared myself once again. Directing my bow at the snake, I prepared to let the arrow fly at the same time pay attention.

A minute passed ....

Another minute ....

The snake suddenly started to spasm. Not knowing what happened, I just let the arrows go and let the bows do the rest of the work.

It immediately flew into the snake and penetrated into it.

As soon as I did, a red number appeared on my HUD next to the words "Sneaking Attacking!"

Total damage was 70. Max's damage from an ordinary arrow (35) but then doubled because it was a sneak attack.

[You have killed {Vine Python} and {Woodland Fox} you have earned 23 Xp!]

[You've earned 17 System Points!]

[You managed to level up!]

[You have successfully obtained the skill {Archery}. Since you are a major archer on Earth, this skill is currently the maximum level. You get increased arc damage, increased arc accuracy, and increased range.]

"I killed both? The arrow must have pierced through the snake completely and went to the fox. Oh well, can't argue with that. '

I jumped out of the tree onto a smaller tree nearby and then jumped to the ground from there. I walked over to the beast I killed but made sure my bow was ready.

Arriving at the python and the fox, I gave a quick kick just to check even though the system said it was dead.

Confirming that it was me putting a bow on my back and putting foxes and pythons in my inventory.

'System, will everything deteriorate inside the inventory or will it become some kind of Stasis?'

[Answer to the Host, you control the time for each object in the inventory. If you want to go to the kind of stasis that you can. If you want time to speed things up, you can. The only thing you can't do is turn back time.]

I nodded in understanding.

Once that was done, I continued walking in a random direction in hopes of finding a place to stay for the night.

An hour or two passed quickly and during the walk I picked up rations and water to eat.

After the next hour, I had to sit under a tree to rest because I was tired of continuing to walk and my terrible constitution did not help.

I rested under a tree for an hour while just tinkering with the system.

I prepared my bow and arrow, then grabbed the stone while holding the bow in my hand. Throwing rocks into the cave as far as I can, I get in position to shoot whatever comes out.

I stood up for a while before slowly starting to get out of position.

Seeing that nothing was out, I decided to make this my temporary home.

Turning to the tree, I picked up some loose branches and other items to make fire. I put them in the inventory and sat a few feet inside the cave.

Looking at the sun for that time, I noticed that it was actually starting to set and my early time that I predicted was wrong.

Seeing it further motivated me to get ready for the night, so I started doing what would be the hardest part of the night. Start a fire.

On earth, I have never made a fire without matches or matches but I watch some things survive on the internet at one time.

While pulling out a decent-sized piece of wood and a piece of wood, I began twirling the stick around on the wood as fast as I could in an attempt to cause enough friction to ignite the small fire.

After ten minutes of doing so and injuring my hand many times, I threw the stick out of the cave in anger.

It just went outside the cave on a few feet and was generally embarrassing because I was so weak.

I sat with my back against the wall of the cave and started thinking about what I could do to light the fire. I can stay on task thinking about how to do it for 5 minutes before my mind switches to what happened today.

Most of what I think about is just walking around constantly and stuff like that. A small part of the skills and other things I got.

At that point, I remember getting some points or something.

'System, I remember earlier when killing snakes and foxes that I earned some points. Can I use it in the store or something? '

[ Agree! In the shop there is everything there is and then. However, since there was an unlimited number of items, there was no store menu. All you have to do is ask me to buy something with a specified number of points and I'll personally search if for you. If there are two options that are equally good, I will tell you and you can decide which one you want.]

I nodded my head once more.

'Can you use about 10 to 15 points to look for something to help me make a fire?'

[Afirmative .... Search ... Search ... Discovering. You have 2 choices. You can get {flint and steel} for {10 Points} or {Introductory for Fire Magic} for {15 Points}.]

"Fire magic, no questions asked!"

[Poin subtraction ... Now you have {2 Poin} left.]

After buying it, a book with only a few pages appeared on my lap.

Taking it, I opened it to the first page and started reading. Most of what is talked about is feeling the flow of energy around you and within you, combining it into a single place, and then just saying, "Fire".

Closing the book, I sighed to myself for barely listing how to actually search for energy and move it.

Throwing the book carelessly into my inventory, I closed my eyes in search of the energy that was being talked about. I searched for a few minutes before I felt a strange lukewarm feeling.

It came from within me and when I looked around me with my eyes closed, I felt a strange feeling of warmth and cold. Assuming that this is what the book was talking about, I tried to move it to a small piece of wood nearby.

It took me some effort but I was finally able to get a fraction of my inner energy and world energy to gather on a piece of wood.

After that, I took the last step.

"{Api}"

After saying this, it felt like more internal lukewarm energy left my body and went to a piece of wood.

Opening my eyes, I noticed a very small flame on the wood. Before doing anything to celebrate, I took out some leaves and items to help burn the fire.

After a minute of doing this and seeing that it would not come out instantly, I sat exhausted.

[Congratulations to host having successfully cast a spell and to learn how to do it without the help of the system!]

I smiled at the message because I was proud of myself for doing it.

[You have successfully learned the spell {Flame}. It uses 10 mp to illuminate an object within 5 feet of burning. It is currently level 1.]

[You have successfully learned {Manipulation Mana}. You can now move a very small amount of mana. It is currently level 1.]
