The Atrocious Duke'S Wife
{Season 2} Charlina Krystilian

"cooperate? I don't even know you, I don't even know your face. How can I agree to cooperate with you?" look at the girl.

"You can think it through first. I'll always come so you can agree to cooperate with me."

In an instant, the figure instantly disappeared leaving nothing behind. The girl was a little scared, yet she was more curious about the meaning of the figure.

The girl immediately rushed into her house and headed to her room.

"alright. Then how is it going?" I asked while looking at him.

Rainwater ceaselessly drips into the ground outside, making the temperature even lower and cooling.

Just as he was about to open his mouth let out a sound, suddenly there was a knock on the door of my room.

But strangely there was no voice calling me as usual, who was knocking?

"Who?" I was a little loud to sound from the outside.

"Dad wants to talk."

"Oh yeah please go in-t-wait, Dad?!" Instantly I was immediately shocked and looked at this man before me full of shock.

What are you doing here?! It could be dangerous if he sees a man in my room!

"Wait, Dad! I'm changing my clothes, wait a minute!" I lied to my racing heart.

Using sign language, I moved my hand along with my facial expression to tell her to hide.

Instead of understanding and obeying my expression, she instead smiled obliquely along with her suddenly changed face.

"Hurry to hide!" I pushed his body violently.

"No way" he answered, making me even more upset and become like a water-deficient fish.

"You crazy?! You're gonna get caught and we're both gonna be done!"

"Unless you comply with one of my requests," he continued.

"Yes, yeah. I will obey him, therefore hide!" my shame.

Finally after a long enough compromise, he moved and began to crawl hiding down the cot.

I drew as much air as I could to neutralize my heartbeat, then walked up to the door and opened it.

The father who was standing right in front of me with his cold and creepy expression as usual.

"Good afternoon, Father," I said as usual, slightly bowing and pulling both ends of my dress skirt.

A little while I was in this position with my legs starting to ache because they were bent. But a strange answer from my father left me very surprised this time.

This is her first leg she said that to me.

"Yes, good afternoon. I want to talk to you, do you have time?" dad said straightforwardly making me a little out of focus.

But then I realized, and immediately let him in. "Sure, Dad."

I turned my body around to give him a crack in my room, and he immediately sat on my desk chair.

Her irises seemed to be spinning watching every corner of my room. Looks like this is the first time you've entered my room.

What made him suddenly come and visit me here? There's no way he just wants to talk, dad can't possibly trouble himself into his daughter's room just to talk to me.

There must be something very, very important for him to discuss with me. Or maybe he'll come back to scold me as usual because I made a mistake.

But as I remember I haven't done anything lately. There was no reason for him to scold me back.

"C-very cold weather. W-do you want a cup of tea? I'll make it for Dad," I bargained.

I tried to open the conversation, so as not to be too awkward.

"No need" replied the father quickly and briefly.

I just fell silent in awkwardness until finally a little while father reopened his voice.

"Dad heard it like you were talking. With who?"

Lothawat!

"N-nothing, Dad. I was just talking to myself in the mirror. I-I do it often, haha," my laughter is bland.

I didn't think it turned out that talking to dad casually could be this awkward!

"A-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-numbered. Like your mother."

My eyes were wide open when I saw an indentation in my father's lips. Is that a smile? Or am I just looking at it wrong? Because it looks so faint. Maybe it was just my imagination.

I also heard my father mutter something. Like mommy? Did you really say that?

"Have you realized your mistake?" My lips almost escaped a wry smile.

A goof? I don't even feel like I've made a mistake. And of course, I won't be silent anymore and just like I was.

"I didn't make a mistake, Father," I said as I looked at him.

It's enough you've always held me back, Dad. I want to live my own life. Because I don't want to be weak anymore.

"Is that?"

I swallowed my salivary hearing my father's short words and it sounded deadly.

As he approached, somehow my head that had originally been lifted now fell back down.

Come on, lift your head!

"Dad heard there's a hunting match next week. Take the match, and make yourself a noble lady."

"Well Dad, I'm gonna do...," she just said what?

I didn't hear wrong, did I?

"Dad...."

"Don't be ashamed, Dad. Win that match, and practice as hard as you can. I don't want to see defeat with you," lick.

I didn't expect this to happen. What made you suddenly change?

Is this just a game to fool me into his next plan?

But, my heart truly feels like it is being showered with excitement right now. Unknowingly, these lips said.

"All right, Dad."

Not long after that, my father got up and stepped out of my room. But before that he had dropped a few words.

"Dad is waiting for your victory."

After that he returned to his feet, but a voice forced him to stop and made him turn and look at me.

"ASHU!"

I glared at my eyes when I heard that voice from someone I was hiding his current existence.

When Dad looked at me and wanted to talk again, I quickly cut him off.

"Hahachi!" I pretended to sneeze and then rubbed my nose. "Pardon, Dad. Because the weather was a little cold, my nose became itchy" I lied with a smile and index finger that could not stand scratching my jawbone.

Dad looked at me inside with a look I didn't know what he meant.

"Yes" he said briefly then walked out and closed the door to my room. When father's footsteps were completely inaudible, I was finally able to push a sigh of relief.

Just barely!

There was a noise until finally the stuff of my nose that had hidden under my couch.

I looked at the sharp look of the figure. "Can't you hold your sneeze?"

He ruffled his dust-filled hair and then replied lazily. "Holden sneezing is a disease."

Cure my eyeballs with the chirping created from my tongue. Yes, I can't deny that.

"So, you're allowed to come along" he chanted.

I don't know what the wind is, I feel relieved now.

"Then, tomorrow we will practice as usual" he said, taking his half-dry clothes.

For a second, he opened my window and climbed up.

"Wait, where are you going?! It's still raining outside!" I shouted to call him.

"The rain has stopped, Miss," he replied and then immediately plunged down. I immediately approached the window and looked down.

Suddenly, he was down there looking at me. Then he walked away and left me.

He's really weird.

...~•~...

A man had just closed the door by pulling the handle. After being perfectly closed, he stood still.

The man looked down, thinking of something. Can be seen from the look of his eyes that look empty.

The flashback

Just a moment ago....

The footsteps of a man's shoes seemed to echo subtly in the hallway.

Not sure what suddenly pushed him, the man wanted to visit his daughter who had been sitting in her room for a while.

Maybe because he had remembered the woman who had ruined his life, and unknowingly a feeling that he deeply hated re-emerged and floated in him.

When his tracks had reached right in front of his daughter's door, the man was silent for a moment.

His palm had clenched and climbed up the air to knock on the wooden door, but a conversational voice sounded very quietly from within.

"Hunting matches. Do you really want to follow him?"

"Eitherway. I also don't know when you're gonna lock me up like this. I won't be able to keep up with that match with just two months of practice."

For some reason, he suddenly refused to knock on the door that became the intermediary.

Again, the man was silent. All thoughts pervaded his brain. No one knows what he is hiding.

After struggling in silence, the man decided to knock on the door and talk to his daughter.

Flashback off

A few seconds later, a voice came back from within. The man put up his ears well to hear the volume waves emanating instantly.

"Yes, that's it. I even nearly breathed through my ear earlier when I heard Dad say that."

A soothing laughter sounded in his hearing, the man remained silent. Not intending to emit even a little bit of volume wave.

Rarely did he hear that laughter. He never heard the laughter on him.

But then he realized, too. That he was the cause of the laughter was very rarely heard, and he himself was the cause of the laughter never fixed on him.

In closing, the man again stepped towards his study where he spent time.

...~•~...

It's a sunny day. It is suitable for activities outside the roof that protects.

Sunlight as usual greets at once accompanies every thousand seconds a human spends in its shade.

Two humans returned to their routine with wooden swords in their hands.

A speck of sweat poured down their faces, until finally they decided to take a break to relieve the tiredness that was fondling.

A mouthful of water finally doused their dry throats, then a conversation returned.

"You nervous? The match will start tomorrow" said the man who was stripping his hair with his finger.

"of course. But I also have no intention of losing. Because I am the next noble lady, "reply the girl with a slight obstinacy.

A thin smile barely visible was painted on the handsome face of the man. His hand was stretched out to gently rub the head of the girl next to him.

"spirit."

One word, but it has a lot of meaning. The girl laughed again, then her lips also carved a soothing sweet smile.

"Surely."

The long-awaited date has finally come, almost all the noble ladies from the kingdom of Erosphire attended the hunting match that is currently making a scene.

Starting from the lowest level nobles namely Baron, Viscount, Earl, Count, Marquess, and Duke.

The location is near the forest, because the noble ladies are required to bring hunted animals.

The bigger and harder the hunted animals get, the greater the chance of victory that will accompany.

All ladies have the right to determine the weapons to be used for hunting, ranging from swords, arrows, daggers, and many other kinds.

Yeah, here I am. Stand in silence observing around. There are so many girls who gather like gossip gangs on the left. Whether their purpose here was to hunt or dig at people, I didn't care and didn't want to know.

Oh yeah, is Daisy going to come here too? I'm a little lonely.

Arlen had been sitting in a chair that had been prepared for him, yes he did play an important role in this match because he was the next Duke candidate.

As my iris and pupil were busy wandering around and there, I suddenly felt a pair of eyes staring at me sharply. I quickly searched for who it was and before long I finally found it.

Her hair was reddish brown and her eyes were green, who was she? I don't know him.

But why is he looking at me like that? I better watch her before she does anything weird to me.

I walked slowly to the woman who was looking at me earlier, and pretended to ask her to talk.

"Greetings. My name is Cassandra" I said, looking down a little. "I'm sorry if I'm presumptuous, but I think you keep staring dislike towards me" I said, and he just kept quiet.

"Oh, sorry! I'm really sassy. How can I say such disrespect to you, forgive me," I said.

"But looking at you who are just silent is looking at me sharply, it seems I was right. What does that mean, huh? Do you have anything hidden against me?" my pancake with a soft tone of voice.

I can see that she desperately held back her emotions, but she would rather leave me.

What's really wrong with him? Who the hell is he anyway? If I ask who he is, it's free. Because he was always quiet.

As I was deep in thought, I suddenly felt a soft pat on my shoulder. Suddenly, I turned my head to see who did it.

"Sir Cassie!"

"Daisy? It turns out you came," I said with a smile.

His row of white teeth was plastered as he showed a wide, very sweet smile.

"of course! I've come to encourage Cassie!" yells.

"You didn't play the game?" my many.

"No. Because I don't like to play with sharp weapons. I prefer to cook, so that I can cook a lot of food for my husband in the future!" the deck invites my laughter.

She is a woman who has a high imagination.

"Oh yeah, Daisy. Do you know that lady?" point me at the lady who looked at me sharply just now.

"Yes. She was the daughter of Charlina Krystilian, daughter of Baron Krystilian. Miss Charlina is a little cold and rarely speaks, so she has no friends" Daisy said.

I don't know him at all. I'd better just be careful and always look around to find out if there's anything suspicious.

"Sister! The match is about to start, you better get ready!"

Daisy's words made me fall out of my daydream. I smile for Daisy, then follow her who is currently tugging at my arm.

I have to win this match.
