"It looks like there's a big problem here."

All of a sudden her speech was cut off when the girl heard the voice of a very familiar man in her hearing. No, he's very familiar.

He was facing backwards, and Marquess Thrones looked extremely shocked by the presence of a figure in the doorway.

"Lord Arlen?!"

"I'm sorry for my unwillingness to interfere with both of you're time." The man lowered his head for a moment pretending to be respectful, so that Marquess Thrones became unpleasant to him.

"Ah, no need. I only talked about small matters with the Lady" replied the Marquess.

"What's he doing here?" inner Cassandra. The girl could only furrow her eyebrows slightly as she remained silent.

"But I heard it seems like the problem is quite complicated. You're talking about water, aren't you?" terka Arlen with her arms folded in front of her chest.

"Y-yes that is," said the Marquess.

"Lady," call the blond girly.

Cassandra immediately regained her senses and bowed for a moment as the Duke's son called out to her formally. "Yes, My Lord?"

"I saw a very blackened part of the river. And I found a stone-like thing at the base. Is that the coal you mean?"

"Yes, that's right My Lord."

"Can you explain?"

"Of course, My Lord." Then, the girl took a breath first and then dug up information about the rocks in her brain. I hope he remembers his lessons in school.

"Coal is a sedimentary rock that can burn and has dangerous mercury in it," he said. "Typically the mercury gets into the air after it is burned and falls into a nearby river. But, as the conditions I said. The coal was directly thrown into the river, so the mercury deposited must have spread throughout the river and come to the surface by absorbing it to the bottom of the river."

The man had made a faint indentation on his lips. "So, the Lady's explanation is so complete and convincing."

"What does Lady mean is that the river is murky because of the dangerous mercury in the rock?" coined.

His index finger he put on his lower lip while moving it slowly.

"But! It was just ordinary rocks, where it might be able to contaminate such a huge river!" sergeant Marquess protest.

"That's because coal is a dangerous rock that can burn. Same with charcoal. There is a dangerous content in it, of course it will certainly make the river polluted."

Cassandra quickly interrupted. The girl would not let the opportunity be wasted.

"All of Lady's explanations sound reasonable to me. With such a complete and convincing explanation, of course, the ability of the Lady cannot be denied. That's right, isn't it? The marquess?"

Circumstances instantly flipped over just like that, making Marquess Thrones cluck in secret annoyance.

"Then Lady, how do you solve this problem?"

"Surely, for the most part we must lift up the entire coal that was immersed in the river, My Lord. After that we will do water purification so that the water is again worth consuming to meet the needs of the population."

After a few seconds, the girl's eyelids widened slightly when she realized something that would almost be disastrous if left unchecked.

"Then-"

Quickly, the girl cut off the conversation. "I'm sorry if I'm sassy by interrupting your words, My Lord. But there's one more important thing I have to say."

"Say," the blue-sliced man commanded.

"We must also close the river channel in the Marquess region to other regions. If we let it go, then the poison could have spread before we knew it" the girl added.

"so." The man nodded his head slowly.

The two of them chatted casually yet seriously, leaving the Marquess Thrones neglected and resentful in silence.

"I beg you, My Lord. Give me a chance, I will solve this problem," asked Cassandra bowed further cornered Marquess.

She bent her body and widened her dress skirt, a basic etiquette of a noble lady. But who would have thought that in his heart the girl let out a very long sigh.

"In my opinion, Lady la Devoline's intentions are worth fulfilling. Because indirectly, all of this happens due to your negligence, right? The marquess."

Arlen could only stare casually, as it was certain that the Marquess would not argue if it was cornered like this. His chin was slightly raised haughtily with a piercing gaze.

"Before it's too late, I want to finish everything. I don't want any residents to be poisoned by the river's water" the nosed girl added.

After the insistence after the insistence that had been fixed straightly and precisely on the Marquess, the man could no longer refute.

Of course he will be branded as a bad leader of the region for letting its inhabitants be exposed to a threatening disaster.

A rough and irritated gust was pushed from his lungs, and with a heavy heart, he could only say.

"All right."

When the matter was over, these two humans walked side by side to exit the Marquess residence towards the inn that the old man had prepared.

Yes, they will indeed settle in this region for a while. Because they will contribute greatly in water purification activities this time, and of course it will take a long time.

"That's about that thing," Cassandra said. "Thank you, if you don't, it's certain that your good name will be ruined because of me" she said slightly bowed.

If Arlen had not shown up, it would have been difficult to get the Marquess to accept her decision and her good intentions. And of course, if he failed then the entire wall of trust that girl had built on her father would just collapse.

"Not a big deal" the man replied. "After all, it's not your fault."

"But still-"

"I'm just helping out a little. It all depends on you, because you also have to do the cleaning like you said."

"What are you doing here? How do you know I'm here?" ask the girl.

"I don't know if you're here. My father asked me to negotiate with the Marquess" the man explained.

"Did the negotiations work?"

"Yes." Yeah."

"so."

After a long enough talk, it's time for silence to take its place.

Only the sound of their feet hitting the floor could be heard, and other noises were heard inside the residence.

"For a long time we did not practice the sword together," the straight barbed man chirped the girl next to him.

It is also true what he said. After winning the match and the poisoning problem, they almost never met even once.

Because Cassandra was preoccupied with her father's political problems, so was Arlen.

"When your friend is sick, don't you have any intention of seeing him?" The man's words even sounded insinuating.

"You too. Didn't you see me after that?" cassandra won't lose.

"Huh." The man expressed his sense of regret as he satirized softly and a bitter, insulting smile. Cassandra could still hear him.

"Not seen you? Of course I can't see you when you're always busy with your work" hard.

"Is he angry?" the inner girl.

"Day after day receive the same excuses from the lips of your servant, who is not fed up?"

"Alright it seems like he is angry," he murmured inwardly. But not long after that, she giggled. "It's funny to see it like this too."

"You're right too. Everyone will be sulking if treated like that" Cassandra replied smiling with her iris and pupils raised upwards as if in thought.

"I'm not sulking" the man argued coldly.

An indentation of a ignorant smile was created on the lips of the girl, so she immediately ran in front of the man with the blue sky and leaned her body with both hands that she hooked behind her back.

"Hm? Did I say that it was you?" tanyanya smiled widely.

Arlen seemed to sigh, then flicked the girl's forehead slowly. "All right, you win."

He also took a sideways path to pass the girl who was leaning her body.

Before that, she had time to move her pupils quickly when Cassandra leaned her body on him.

Does the girl not know that the action is very dangerous when she wears a shirt with a low chest?

"Hey, dear Lord Arlen. Are you still angry? Are you still sulking?" the girl's tease is getting more intense.

"Stop it" the man said.

"Why? Are you still sulking? Ahaha!" turn the girl. Do not remember that they are still in the residence of others.

"Not that, your smile is."

"Eh?" As her smile slowly faded, her eyelids lifted so much that a dark brown iris was plastered inside.

Did he not like the smile he showed?

"Don't force a smile if you don't want to" the man stared in the figure before him.

The girl's lips instantly clenched, and her head began to fall so that her strands came down covering her face.

"And don't show as if everything's okay. I don't like it," she said.

Before long, the girl's hand lifted and rubbed her eyes.

"Well, I tried to hide it. But if you dismantle it and say it that clearly, I certainly can't help it," the outpouring wiped the water that kept flowing and falling.

Yeah, Arlen knows that. Everything Cassandra hid. From that moment on, the girl hid her fear with fake laughter and smiles.

How not? The girl was so afraid that the Marquess still did not accept her request. That way, all the trust he built in his father's heart would certainly be destroyed and charred just like that.

And worse, his father may be back to what he was. Always yelling at her, hurting her, and always forcing her.

The brown girl was unable to endure it all anymore, and she did not want to experience it anymore.

A soft sobbing sound filled the silence, and without a hint the man's hand stretched out to pull the girl's head and attach it to her shoulder.

"You've done your best" whispered the man letting the girl in his arms cry as much.

"Gosh, your clothes are all wet. Aish how is this?" cassandra riled when she found the man's clothes wet all due to tears and thick water coming from his nose.

After being completely satisfied the girl cried, she finally stopped as the storm in her heart subsided.

And when he lifted his face that was stuck on the man's shoulder, the Duke's son's clothes were already very livid. Then he was worried half-dead when he realized it.

How not? It was certain that the man's clothes were expensive, he had no money to replace them. Moreover, it is certain that such clothes cost fantastic.

"You better just give it to me, I'll wash it," he said, still covered in a huff.

His fingers did not stop moving trying to wipe and get rid of all the water that had absorbed it.

Before long, Arlen put the girl's hand away slowly. "That's it, don't think about it too much."

"But these expensive clothes are tarnished because of me. Therefore, let me wash it."

"no need. Besides, can you wash?"

Cassandra was slightly insinuated as this man before her spoke like that. When he became unemployed, of course, he washed his own clothes because he did not want to pay for laundry.

"Of course you can, do you underestimate me?" cynically.

Arlen just raised his eyebrows next door. What made him suddenly change his mind, he said. "All right."

"You're staying too, aren't you? Then you just give me your clothes later," her secret made her interlocutor nod.

They walked side by side again, their feelings alone or indeed the hallway of the Marquess residence was very long?

"Don't do it again" Arlen said, suddenly leaving Cassandra confused.

"Do what?"

"Don't lean your body in front of men. Your body's precious assets will be visible" he added.

It took a while for the girl to digest what the man had just said.

But when his eyes caught where the man in front of him looked, he knew it immediately.

She widened her eyes and slightly gaped. In an instant, both of his fingers were striking both of Arlen's eyeballs which had been covered by eyelids first due to reflexes.

"Basic!"

...~•~...

As Marquess Thrones promised, Cassandra and Arlen will be staying at a chosen inn at no cost.

Who's paying? Of course Marquess Thrones herself.

Right now they're at the reception desk - or arguably so - to pick up their room keys.

"Ah, My Lord, My Lady. His Lordship has told me that you are coming. Do you want to eat first? It's dinner time now" said the receptionist.

"Do you want to eat first?"

Cassandra nodded quickly. Because he had not filled his stomach with nutrition.

"Yes, we'll be back later."

They both went to the dining table to meet the needs of their bodies. While chatting and joking, they had finally finished with the ritual of delivering nutrition to their bodies.

Then, they returned to the reception desk to retrieve their keys. Since the time was late, it was time to rest.

However, when they had the key, the receptionist was acting strange.

"I. that... My Lord..," he said stammeringly.

The pair of men and the girl immediately threw back a glance at each other in confusion.

"Sorry, My Lord. Just now, there was someone who booked another room. So, now there is only one room left," he hesitated.

"There are two of them, right?" cassandra smiled. I hope what is on his mind is not right.

He should be wasting away those negative and untrue thoughts.

"That's only one room with a mattress for the couple left," the receptionist added.

Still faithful with a sweet smile and closed eyelids, the girl said.

"F."
