"Daph.are you ready, baby? Let's go, Harper's extended family is already waiting for our presence at the event venue!" Mami walked into my room with her favorite Birkin Bag which was a birthday gift from Papi.

"In the meantime, Mami, I'll put on the earrings first!" I said casually while removing a pair of teardrop-type earrings with pink gems on the pendulum.

"All right, Mami's going downstairs first. You immediately follow, Papi can be angry if you wait too long."

I chuckle softly. "C'mon Mam, Papi will never be mad at me even if he has to wait for me to dress up for 5 hours!"

"Yes.yes.yes..Mami knows that, Papi is so sorry for you that he can't be angry. But remember, there's still your sister who likes to nag if we're late."

I turned my dressing chair to face Mami. "Okay Mam.just hold on for a minute. I'll be downstairs!"

Mami kissed the top of my head briefly before coming out of my dressing room inside the walk in closet.

Not wanting to linger anymore, I immediately hooked the earrings I chose earlier on both lobules of my ears. Not to forget, I also put up a necklace with a pendant with a picture of lavender flowers to add a sweet accent.

If you want to know what event is today, then the answer is the scariest party of my life. Which is nothing but a wedding party.

My cousin-Hadley Harper is having a wedding reception with her new husband, Ajax Michael. Their wedding ceremony was actually completed yesterday. Today we celebrate the recipe.

"Hello all...Princess Daphne is coming!" I greeted my family who were gathering downstairs one by one.

"Finally! The long-awaited down is also finally. My beautiful princess Daphne.." Papi greeted me with wide open arms.

"How's Pi? I look pretty, don't I?" I deliberately twisted my body to show this one-shoulder dress I wore to Papi.

My mood changed drastically hearing Brother Darius' words. Know this, I better call the services of make-up artists just to come home. Even though when I read earlier I was confident that my makeup today was so charming. But it didn't.

"Darius, how dare you call your brother menor! That's lying!" Papi looked at Brother Darius' eyes as if he was about to pull out his fangs. "Don't trust him, Daph, he's just a prankster. There's no term for that menor-menor. Your make-up looks perfect, baby."

"That's..Papi's always been defending him." Darius rolled his eyes lazily.

"Of course, she's Papi's favorite daughter!"

"Yes, the favorite princess who likes to dress up menor. Ahhaha..." Darius laughed giggling while holding his stomach for holding back the laughter.

"Stop that shit Darius! Stop teasing your sister. Look, you're making her pretty face pouty. So outrageous!" my sister-in-law-Candice, who just came out of the toilet came defending.

"Daph.you look beautiful today. Don't listen to Darius! Just watch out for him, I won't give you rations tonight because he's been mocking you." Sister Candice cupped the side of my face and stroked my cheek gently.

"Thank you for my wonderful sister-in-law! I love Brother." and we hugged.

It just so happened that my niece was on vacation with Kak Candice's parents to Rome, so she couldn't come with our group to Hadley's reception.

"Why bite your lip Daph? Are you feeling nervous?" mami asked as my embrace with Sister Candice was gone.

"How come I'm not nervous Mam, on the show later I'll definitely meet Grandpa and Grandma. Mami must know what will happen afterwards." I said softly.

Mami and Kak Candice's faces suddenly turned moody. They know exactly what I said.

"Darling, just ignore Grandpa and Grandma. There was no need to feel pressured by their presence." Papi tried to calm me down.

"I'm afraid Mam, Pap...Hadley is married now. That means, I'm the only one left Grandpa and Grandma's granddaughter who hasn't got a family."

"Who said? There's still Ashlyn and Courtney who aren't married." Papi said.

"But they already have Pap's lover! Sooner or later their lovers will propose in the near future. Unlike me who is single!" I pointed at myself with my index finger.

"What if you're still alone? No problem, right? If you can't get a mate, don't force yourself Daph!" the response of Brother Darius.

"Son's this amnesia or what? Remember no, I'll be betrothed to Grandpa's man of choice if I don't have a girlfriend! Finish my story, brother!" I shuddered in horror at the thought of the match.

Because all this time, Grandpa and Grandma were less successful in choosing a partner for their children and grandchildren. Most of them always end up failing. Whether it's cheating, divorce, betrayal, there are all kinds of things.

Luckily Papi and Mammiku are a couple who do not come from the results of an arranged marriage. They meet purely because of the feeling of loving each other.
