Almeer walked next to Ruby by tightly grasping that soft and warm hand. The beautiful and shahdu-faced woman continued to give a soothing smile to her worried son in anger at his Papa.
"You picked up Almeer, By?"
Hearing Hiko's voice makes Almeer hide behind her Mama's body. The man frowned and looked at his son.
"Why is it so dirty, Al?" Hiko squatted down and searched every inch of the son's body. "You fighting?" inquiringly.
Almeer did not immediately answer, he looked at his mother.
"Let Al take a shower and get dressed first, Mas."
"No. Al has to explain what happened to Papa first." Hiko stood up and took her son into the house. "Sit down!" his orders, slow but sounding firm.
Almeer sat on the living room couch, Ruby sitting next to Almeer. Hiko sat on a separate sofa. His body slightly bent with both elbows resting on top of his thighs. Highlight those sharp eyes did not let go of his son's figure in the least.
"Papa awaits your explanation, Al. It's the third time and Papa won't listen to the swirling explanation."
Ruby was surprised to hear that Almeer had fought more than once with her friend. He grabbed the tiny shoulder and rubbed it slowly. "Al can tell Papa. If you're honest, Papa won't be angry, '" said Ruby.
"Al do not like that Sofyan ngatain Papa nimbun many sins for making children like Al."
Hiko's hardened face earlier turned startled at her son's reply. The day she was worried about arrived as well, and her son instead heard her past from others. He squatted down in front of Almeer and clasped the small hand. "Why didn't Al tell Papa?"
"I don't want Papa to be sad" he replied. "Al was ashamed, Al was sad, Al was afraid that Al was indeed a filthy child born of sin." Al's cry broke out instantly.
Hiko hugged her son. His heart was also pierced by hearing his son's words. "I'm sorry, Papa, honey. I'm sorry, Papa." Her tears are dripping. This sick man heard others insulting his son. He should have been the one who got the insult, not his son.
"Al wants to be a sholeh boy, Al wants to be a great kid, Al has to be a pinter. Don't want to be mocked anymore" said Almeer still with his cries roaring.
Hiko simply nodded and still hugged her son tightly.
"Al wants to be like an egg that Mama Ruby says, Pa. Let Al be born in a dirty place, Al must be a useful person!" his screams were full of emotion.
Hiko let go of her embrace and looked at her son as he pleased. The tears of his son. "I'm sorry Papa, honey. Maafin Papa's. You shouldn't get anything bad like this. Papa's stupidity makes you hurt other people. You should have been born to good parents. Not like Papa."
Almeer shook his head, wiping away the tear marks on his Papa's cheek. "But Papa and Mama Nara are Al's parents. If Papa and Mama Nara did not exist, God would not have sent Al to worship on this earth, Pa."
"Papa and Mama are grateful to have a son sholeh and smart like you." Hiko gives a kiss on her son's forehead. "I'm sorry, Daddy, honey."
Almeer. Her tears had stopped and left her as she pleased.
"Papa hopes Al grows up to be a good man. Unlike Papa who wasted a lot of time on useless things. Far from God and busy with the world. And worst of all, Papa always plays women. Never do what Papa did wrong."
"Al want to keep on deleting God."
Hiko smiled hearing that. "If Al is an adult, he should respect a woman. Whoever it is, Al should be appreciated. Although he looks weak and helpless, it does not mean that Al can underestimate and even play tricks on them. As men, Al must respect and protect them. Without Eve, Adam was lonely. Same with us, Al."
"Like Papa who is always sad because there is no Mama Ruby?"
Hiko smiled hearing her son's innocent question. But it is so. He was lonely and felt very lost for Ruby's departure.
"I'm sorry Papa, Al. I can't stop regretting my past mistakes. To the extent that you get the impact."
"Al sorry, Papa, really."
"Al've been relieved of Papa's story?" ask Ruby.
Almeer nodded despite still being as unwilling. "Al's glad to have Mama here. Al can tell a lot to Mama." He hugged his mother.
"Sorry, yeah. I don't have much time for Al."
"Yes ... Papa's son is getting better, huh?" Hiko rubbed the head of her son who was still wearing kopyah.

After helping Al take a bath and change clothes, Ruby rushed to the room to prepare a change of clothes for her husband. But it turns out that Hiko was finished first. The man was wearing a koko shirt and a sarong. Her handsome face looked glum, staring at her reflection in the mirror.
"I'm sorry, Mas. Al was while telling stories, soβ"
Not yet had Ruby finish her speech, Hiko actually pulled the woman in her arms. He hugged tightly and buried his face on Ruby's shoulder.
"Why, Mas?" Ruby rubbed her husband's shoulder. Suddenly he felt something wet on his shoulder.
"I feel so guilty for Almeer, By!" pekik Hiko quietly. He pulled his body and patted his chest. "My heart hurts so much to imagine how such a little boy gets his boos from his friends. She must not be confident in the presence of her friends, By."
For the second time Ruby saw Hiko's face as troubled as this. He cupped the man's face while wiping his tears. "But regretting it is free, Mas. It's all happening."
"I feel so guilty about him, By. Apologizing can't make this sense of sin go away."
"You're lucky to still have that taste, Mas. That way you'll always give your best to Al."
"I knew this day would come, but I didn't expect it to be like this at all. Al heard everything from others and all this time he kept to himself, By."
"We can't change what happened to her, Mom. But we still have plenty of opportunities to give him the strength to face reality. He'll grow up to be a great kid."
Hiko grabbed Ruby's shoulder."Thank you for being in our lives, By. Thank you." Thank you." He gave a kiss on his wife's forehead and then hugged her.
"There's something I want to tell you, Mas "
"What, By!"
"I decided to stop working and wanted to focus on Al, Mas."
Hiko let go of her embrace."I don't agree."
"Why? I want to always be there for Al, Mas."
"You can stay with Al without leaving your job, By."
"But I want to focus on him, Mas. Not with the others."
"I can't see you giving up on your dream just to focus on Al, By."
"Almeer isn't just 'just' for me, Mas. Almeer my son, I have a great responsibility for his future."
Hiko remained silent. He looked at his wife closely. Ruby was the one who insisted on her will. Which made him speechless not because of that stubbornness. But Ruby's sincerity on Almeer. What more gratitude does he want to extend to the owner of life after sending a woman as gentle and sincere as that to him?
