Hiko carefully sat Ruby on the front bench, not forgetting she put a seatbelt on Ruby.
The brown hooded young lady's cheeks were already not wet, only wet tears were left around her eyes. His trembling hands clasped together to ease his tremors.
Hiko closed the car door, circled the car and sat behind the wheel. He immediately drove his car away from the quiet place as soon as possible.he occasionally glanced at the state of the woman beside him. Still silent with a frightened face.
Grateful he had lowered his ego and chose to approach Ruby again. He will be more sorry if Ruby gets bad treatment again because of her.
Hiko pulled her car over to a minimarket yard to buy Ruby a bottle of mineral water so she could be calmer.
His move to get out of the car was stifled when he felt his back t-shirt was being pulled. He sat down again, looking at the owner of the hand who was still holding the shirt.
"Please don't leave me alone." asked Ruby to weld in a very slow voice, again her tears dripped.
Hiko still continued to stare at Ruby who was showing how helpless she was right now. There's no jutek and cynical parachute Ruby always shows her. He was completely devastated to see Ruby like this, making his heart thump and wanting to protect her.
"Gue just wants to buy you a drink." Her speech.
Ruby shook her head, Hiko could feel Ruby's hand grip getting stronger.
"OK, I'm not out." Hiko fixed her sitting position and closed the car door again.
Ruby removed her fingers from Hiko's shirt and sat back to the front.
Ruby still hates Hiko, but she herself doesn't understand why she doesn't want Hiko to leave her. She still clearly remembered what Hiko had done to her, but this time she could not rebel when Hiko touched her. Even this time he was the one who had touched Hiko first.
"You come home in this state to worry the family, lo." Hiko opened the conversation. "Mending you call them, find an excuse so they don't worry."
"They stole my phone" replied Ruby.
"Huh?"
"It doesn't matter they take my phone, as long as they don't touch me." Said Ruby.
Hiko could not answer, because he was no less a jerk than the two men.
"Why do you have to do nenangin lo?" Hiko looked at Ruby's still trembling hand.
Ruby shakes.
"Normally women prefer to be hugged to make their feelings better. I used to do that, this chest is comfortable enough to calm the heart and mind." Hiko patted her chest a few times.
Ruby glanced cynically at Hiko, "Just try to do it, I'll kill you right now, mas."
Hiko grinned, "Udah out lo's true nature?"
Ruby threw away her face staring out the window.
"Gue's gonna buy you a drink first."
Soon Ruby pulls Hiko's shirt again. "I told you not to stay with me!" ruby was upset.
Hiko let out a long sigh, "Yes yes, I'm here. Girlfriend is not, left unwilling."
Ruby took off Hiko's shirt and looked straight ahead. "Please take me home." asked Ruby.
"okay!"
Hiko starts his car engine and restarts his vehicle to the Darul Hikmah boarding school.
Long enough time taken by Hiko and Ruby to arrive at the boarding school. Hiko deliberately slows down the speed of her car to make Ruby completely calm. He did not want to make the Ruby family khawarir see their daughter come home with a situation that is not okay.
Hiko was shocked when Ruby got out of the car just like that, without saying a word.
"Some time ago he whined not want to be left behind, had been escorted to his house even I was thrown away." Mumbled Hiko, his eyes were ceaselessly staring at Ruby's back until he finally disappeared behind the boarding gate.
Hiko closed her eyes, leaning her forehead on the wheel of her car. Her memory returned to the helpless face of Ruby who was asking her to stay with him. Somehow it made her heart so proud as if she was a hero to Ruby.
Tuk tuk tuk!
The knock on the car window forced Hiko to stop her memories. He opened his window in annoyance and saw Ruby standing there.
"Why?" Ask Hiko.
"Thank you for helping me." Ruby spoke briefly and then ran away from Hiko.
Hiko smiled faintly at Ruby's behavior just now. Not wanting to linger there, he started the car engine and left the boarding school Darul Hikmah.
**********
Ruby had just finished her isya' prayer. Umm Fatimah and Azizah immediately approached them to find out why she could come home late, as well as the news about Ruby and Hiko.
"So Ruby's hape is gone, so Ruby has to run before she gets home, but still can't see it."
"Then, what about the news on television, By?" Ask Nyai Fatimah
"Eitherway. Bulek. Ruby was also confused as to what to answer."
Ruby's answer confused Nyai fatimah and Azizah. Not just them. Ruby herself was confused why she could answer like that. He could have replied 'that's not true'.
"Yes, Nduk." Nyai Fatimah replied, although in fact he still wanted to ask further.
Ruby went to her room and laid herself on the bed. The room lights are still on, there is no intention to fall asleep immediately.
He was thinking about Hiko. Yes, Ibrahim Akihiko. The jerk who desecrated him.
Ruby just felt weird, why didn't she rebel when Hiko touched her? Was she already a woman who had no self-esteem in front of Hiko? Also how could she pull the shirt that Hiko was wearing and ask him to keep her company.
"Amagrh!" Ruby was angry and ashamed of herself.
puk puk!
He patted both cheeks to make himself understand the real situation.
the tok tok tok.
"Sir, there's a call from Budhe." Azizah's voice from outside the room.
"Yes, Zizah! A moment." Ruby reused her veil and exited the room. "Thank you, Zizah.
"The same, ma'am." Zizah said then went back into her room.
Ruby headed to the living room, where the house phone was.
"Assalamu'alaikum, Ummi." Greetings Ruby.
"Wa'alaikumsalam, son. Ummi just called to hape you can't?"
"Ruby's phone is gone, Ummi. Sorry, Ruby hasn't told Ummi."
"Astagfirullah, where's my son?"
"Either, Ummi. Ruby doesn't know either." Ruby replied lying.
"But you're okay, son?" Ask Ummi.
Ruby sighed, she wanted to tell her what she was going through to her umminya, but she didn't want to make her umminya worry.
"Ruby's fine, ummi."
"Son, Ummi had accidentally seen the news on television about you and his son Mr. Handoko. Is that true?"
Ruby was silent and did not answer.
"By?"
Ruby shed her tears, she was eager to tell her ummi that she was a man who had taken her honor.
"Son, are you crying? What really happened between you and son Hiko?"
Ruby wiped her tears and took a deep breath to calm herself down.
"Are you really in a relationship with him, son?" Ask Nyai Hannah again.
"Ruby can't answer it now ummi. Ruby promised me the right time would tell ummi." Answer Ruby.
"But you're okay, son?"
"No, Ummi. Ruby's fine."
"Alright, Son. If so, you should rest immediately. Ummi hang up. Assalamu'alaikum."
"Yes, Ummi. Wa'alaikumsalam."
Ruby hung up the phone and went straight back to her room. I don't want anyone to see her cry.
Ruby does not like Hiko, even arguably she hates him after knowing what Hiko has done to her.
But somehow there is a little feeling in Ruby's heart that Hiko must indeed account for what she has done to Ruby. However, it's all soon he tepis when remembering Hiko is the one his best friend loves.
