‘Discussi’ lasted long enough so that without feeling the day was already night when they finished ‘conversing’. Thea took two oil lamps out of nowhere to illuminate the simple, low-light house. He placed the two lights in the middle of where Lian Haocun and his group were sitting. Then he sat back down on the straw quietly.
The old grandfather said in a friendly tone, “In this village there is no suitable house for foreigners to stay in. How about you stay at my house? Or the... Do you have a place to stay?”
