The Lord's Concubine

The Lord's Concubine
The King's New Rule

"Gosh, my legs are still swollen."

Farra was sitting leaning against the wall of the room while scolding her still sore leg. He grimaced in pain. For two days Farra endured the pain in her leg without being able to do anything about it.

Everyone in the mansion did not care about him either. And they knew and saw with their eyes that the girl was walking with a limp. Don't help, just ask no.

Slowly Farra got up from her seat and stepped out of the room into the kitchen. The servants were already seen busy with their respective work, including Bu Eni, the Chief Servant in the house.

Bu Eni looked at Farra who had just arrived in the room with perfectly rounded eyes.

"I don't know what's special about you compared to the other servants in this house. Look, all your friends are working. You even act like the boss comes and goes as you please" grumbled Bu Eni.

"Sorry" said Farra.

"Sorry! Now, help them prepare breakfast! It's too late" said Bu Eni, pointing to the servants who were busy preparing breakfast for Lord King and Miss Vania.

Farra soon joined them even though the reaction of the servants was still the same as yesterday. They remain indifferent and do not consider its existence. However, even so, Farra still did his job well until it was finished.

Not long after, the Lord King arrived at the dining room with his wife who was struggling spoiled in the man's burly arms. The woman's condition has begun to improve even though her face still looks pale.

The king drew a chair for Vania to sit on. After the woman sat down, she immediately followed and sat down in her chair. The servants began to serve the couple with their best servants.

Farra did not want to approach the couple and she thought, avoiding the couple is the best way for her.

However, his thoughts were not in line with Bu Eni's wishes. The woman approached Farra and ordered her to help the others, serving Lord King and Miss Vania in the dining room.

"Why are you quiet? Don't you see, all your friends are serving Lord King and Miss Vania there!" Bu Eni with enlarged eyes looked at Farra while pointing towards the servant who was busy serving the couple.

"But, Ma'am ...."

Farra tried to resist but Bu Eni did not care and did not want to know any reason for the girl. Bu Eni insisted on ordering Farra to help the servants.

Inevitably, Farra was forced to move her still-ill feet towards the room. The gaze of the King and Vania was now on Farra who was walking towards the dining table with a limp.

The king raised his hands up and made all the servants stop their work. So did Farra, the girl stopped her steps and then noticed the King who was looking at her cynically.

"Listen to this carefully! This goes for all of you who work here!" he said and made all the servants put their ears on properly.

"From today on, don't let him help you prepare food for me and Vania. I didn't want to touch anything let alone put the food he had touched into my throat. You understand!" the king pointed towards Farra.

"Good, Master!" sahut they are in unison.

All the servants were so shocked to hear the remark from the Lord King. They stared at Farra with a confused look. While Vania smiled with satisfaction because the King really proved that he really did not like the girl.

Farra's body shook. He did not expect the Lord King to say that. Farra was really humiliated. It was as if he had an infectious disease that would infect them if touched by it.

"You better get out of here! I don't want my appetite to go away from seeing that face of yours. You village girl!" vania said as she shook her hand.

Slowly Farra retreated her steps then turned around and again dragged her feet out of the room. His heart really hurt. The humiliation that Lord King did made his chest feel extremely tight. Farra looked troubled as she took her breath.

"Yes, God! Why would the man marry me if I looked so disgusting to him" Farra said.

The king also called Bu Eni as the Chief Servant in his house. He asked Bu Eni to give the girl a task outside the kitchen.

"Remember, Miss Eni! I don't want that girl touching the food or groceries you're going to serve me and my wife."

"Good, Sir. I understand," said Bu Eni.

Bu Eni looked at Farra from a distance. I don't know why he was tempted in his heart after the girl received such treatment from both of his employers.

"Actually who is that girl? And why does the Lord King look so hateful to him?" inner Bu Eni.
