The Lord's Concubine

The Lord's Concubine
Imitation Ring

The servant who was ordered by the Lord King to take Farra's cake finally arrived and handed it to Farra who was still sitting beside the King's body.

"This is the cake, Farra."

"Thank you" said Farra, welcoming a tray of her pastries and a warm cup of tea for the King.

The king smiled in satisfaction then tried to get up from his position. However, as his head was still heavy, the King of distress woke up his body. Farra, who could not bear to see him, immediately helped the man after he placed the tray on the nightstand.

"Thank you" said the king after he managed to sit on his bed.

"This is the cake, sir."

Farra handed the cake to the King and the King immediately enjoyed it. Farra looked at the man without blinking a single bit. He prepares his heart and ears if after this the King utters super spicy and painful words, just as usual.

"Why do you see me like that? Have you never seen a handsome person eating a cake?!" said King.

Farra shook her head quickly and immediately lowered her gaze. Actually he felt very uncomfortable when he was next to the King. How not, the man remained a stranger to her.

The king watched Farra sitting beside him with her head bowed. The girl looks cool twisting the end of her clothes. And the King's gaze now focused on the wedding ring that was tightly attached to Farra's ring finger.

The king smiled knots when he saw the ring. He remembered why he married Farra. Even now if he remembered the death of his parents, the hatred was stirred in his heart.

After the two seeds of Farra's cake went into his stomach, the King ended his cake by sipping the warm tea that was already available on the tray.

"Farra" said the king, putting the cup back.

Farra raised her head then looked at the man. The king again smiled faintly as Farra returned her gaze. The king grabbed the girl's hand then noticed her ring finger.

"Do you see this ring? Why is the color of this ring fading more and more?" The king looked at Farra with his eyebrows raised.

Farra shook her head. He really doesn't know anything about jewelry. Although he was aware that his wedding ring with the man the color was indeed fading.

"Because this ring is fake, Farra. This ring symbolizes my love for you. Just like this ring, my love for you is also fake" he said with a cynical smile.

At once Farra's facial expression changed. He stared sadly at the ring attached to his ring finger. The color faded, but he never knew it was an imitation or fake ring.

Farra's head was bowed again. His chest felt tight after hearing the man's confession. So bad, the man had even deceived him. Slowly Farra's tears fell but quickly he wiped.

"Because I hate you, Farra. Because of you, I had to lose both of my parents at the same time," said the King with an annoyed face.

"I don't understand why you blame me for the deaths of your parents" Farra said.

"Because you are the cause, Farra. You are present in the middle of their lives and become the third person. The news of your marriage to my father was the cause of my mother's death. And because of you, my father finally died on the way to the Hospital. Naas, right?"

Farra shook her head. "You are wrong, Lord King. I even strongly rejected the marriage. When Mr. Hendrik came to propose to me, I had already turned him down but it was Aunt Nurmala who insisted on marrying me to your Father" Farra said.

The king returned with a cynical smile. "A senseless excuse" said the King.

"Your heart is consumed by hatred, Lord King. I think it's free to explain it to you. Because whatever I say, I'm sure you'll never believe it even if it's true."

An annoyed Farra, immediately got up from the man's bed. He stood right in front of the King while releasing an imitation ring that was firmly attached to his ring finger. After the ring came off, Farra slowly placed it on the nightstand.

"Thank you for the ring and the love of his faith, Lord King. I'm really flattered that you gave it to me" Farra said before she left the room.

King's riveted. Her lips could not even be moved anymore after hearing the answer from the girl. After Farra had disappeared from his sight, now the King's gaze turned to the whitened imitation ring. The ring Farra put on the nightstand.

Slowly the King took the ring. He watched the imitation ring that was now in his palm carefully.

"What if what Farra says is true? That means I-" the king took a deep breath and then exhaled.

Meanwhile.

Farra walked quickly to the room. Upon his arrival, he immediately closed the door and dropped himself on the bed sobbing.

"Why Lord King was so willing to deceive me. About me village girl and do not understand about perhiasana, she even had the heart to give me an imitation wedding ring," said Farra in between sobs of tears.
