The Lord's Concubine

The Lord's Concubine
Cake Seller Girl

"Aksa, hurry! Later we are late" Farra told Aksa who was wearing his backpack.

"Yes, Brother."

After successfully installing his backpack, Aksa immediately ran towards Farra who was waiting for his arrival on the porch of the house.

Aksa smiled warmly then grabbed Farra's hand for her to hold. While Farra's only hand, the girl used to carry a basket of cakes that she would rent this morning.

Farra led Aksa down the road. While stepping her legs, Aksa continued to drum, singing children's songs that she learned from school.

"Sir, I hope that today Kakar Kakar cake sells a lot, so I can buy fried chicken like the one bought by Aunt Nurmala," Aksa said with a big smile staring at Farra.

Farra's heart was again pinched. It turned out that the little boy still remembered the fried chicken eaten by Aunt Nurmala yesterday. With teary eyes, Farra nodded her head.

"Yes, Deck. Doain Brother yes, so you can buy fried chicken for Aksa," replied Farra.

Not long after, Farra arrived in front of Aksa's school.

"Aksa, remember-" Farra had not finished saying that, Aksa had cut off his words.

"Don't go home before Brother Farra picks you up," Aksa interrupted with a big smile.

"Yep, you're pinter!"

"Aksa hapal, Brother. Every day Brother always reminds that of Aksa," replied the little boy.

"Yes, already. Come on in, gih."

"Yes, Brother Farra. Bye!"

Aksa waved her hand as she ran into the gate of her school. After making sure that the younger sister has entered the class, Farra also continued her steps to the place where Farra used to sell her homemade cakes.

Just a journey of about 15 minutes, Farra also arrived at the place on the way. The girl immediately held her lap. A small table made of wood to put the cakes and chairs are also the same, made of wood that he used to sit while keeping his merchandise later.

Farra is not alone, there are still 3-4 people who peddle their merchandise in that place. Only, Farra is the youngest girl and the most stealing the attention of people around.

Unbeknownst to Farra, the King and the Assistant, Ivan, noticed himself from a distance. Several times the King sneered cunningly as he looked at Farra.

"Help me get the girl, Ivan. I promise I'll give you a big bonus if you manage to get that girl for me."

"Good, Sir."

Deep in Ivan's heart, deep in his heart, he felt compassion for the girl. An orphan girl who is now the backbone for herself and her little sister.

After getting a decree from the King, Ivan immediately brought his car closer to the Farra field.

"Buy the cake and give me this money" said the King, handing Ivan a red note.

Ivan grabbed the money given by the King while nodding his head slowly. "Good, Sir."

The girl smiled warmly as the car the King was riding in approached her lapel. Farra hopes that the car owner will buy his merchandise. Hoping today he could buy fried chicken for his sister Aksa.

"Good morning, sir. Want to buy some cake?" greet Farra with a sweet smile when Ivan opened the glass of his car door.

Ivan returned Farra's smile, handing over a piece of paper that had been given to him by the King.

"I want to buy 10 seeds. Wrap, yeah."

"Good, Sir."

With a crunchy face, Farra stuffed Ivan's ordered cake into a crackle bag. After everything was ready, Farra handed it to Ivan and welcomed the red banknotes.

"Well, Mister. The money is huge, I still have no change" said Farra.

"Take the change for you" said Ivan, replying to Farra's sweet smile.

"really?" Farra was aghast. "but .. the change was a lot, sir," said Farra with teary eyes.

"It's okay, just take it. Consider it your fortune. Don't be rejected, yes" said Ivan with a warm smile.

Farra cupped her hands to her chest and thanked Ivan.

"Thank you, Mister. May your fortune be plentiful."

"Amen. You're welcome."

Ivan closed the windshield and drove back. The king who had been watching Farra's beauty was again grinning.

"You see him, Ivan? Her acting is really stunning. If I didn't know who he was, I might be fascinated by him. Lucky I knew who he was then I wouldn't be a fool like my father was crazy about that damn girl" King said.

Ivan was silent. He doesn't know what to say. Ivan could only hope that the King would realize that what had been on his mind all along was wrong.

Farra was not a bad girl who had seduced Mr. Hendrik until the old man fell in love with him. However, Mr. Hendrik himself was infatuated with the figure of Farra because of the beauty and innocence of the girl.
