The LOVE Of Guardian's
Chapters 37. Here I am

Alfin's phone is shaking. Alfin immediately picked up the phone that turned out to be from the Acra.

"Hello, assalamualaikum, um" he said.

Akra's voice rang out, "Kenanga has passed away."

Brakes

Alfin just dropped his phone. Died? No way!

"Hello."

Acra's voice rang out again on his phone, Alfin quickly picked it up on the floor. His hands were shaking trying to stick a cell phone in his ear.

"Can you explain what you mean?" ask Alfin trembling.

On his phone there was a noise.

Alfin frowned when he could not hear Akra's reply, "Hello, um?" said again.

KRINGGG

Alfin immediately woke up from his sleep. Breath gasping. Damnit. It was just his nightmare. His heart is still beating. Even if it was a dream, it felt very real.

Alfin quietly sighed in relief.

Alfin restored his hair and glanced at the clock on his nightstand. At 04:00 in the morning. Alfin stretched his body and then got up from the bed to the bathroom.

Eight o'clock, five minutes later, Alfin was in the hospital. He walked towards his room with his hands clasping coffee. The slow corridor made Alfin take a leisurely walk.

"Fin, Alfin!" shouts Satya from behind her.

Alfin turned around, looking Satya standing with his hands resting on his knees. Breaths gnawing.

After that, he approached Alfin.

"I've been looking for you, asshole. Where have you been?" sambar Satya is upset.

"Streetings. What the hell is it?" ask Alfin casually.

"Do you know?" ask Satya.

"Know what?" Alfin's confused.

Satya glared, "So you don't know?!" pekik Satya's.

Alfin shook his head not understanding. "What the hell are you gonna say? I know what?"

"Alfin Adendra, Lieutenant Kenanga and your wife were shot last night!" pekik Satya was slow but full of emphasis.

Alfin freezes. He laughed out loud. Because of his gel, he hit Satya's shoulder.

"Your joke is very loose." he laughed.

Satya clucked, "I'm serious, asshole!"

Alfin was silent.

"Fin." reprimanded Satya confused by Alfin's reaction.

Brakes

The coffee Alfin was holding suddenly fell. Satya was shocked when the coffee spilled near her feet.

"What?" peekik Alfin quietly.

So the dream is real?

Kenanga was taken to Jakarta after first aid. Both Dani, Angga, Panji, Bagas and Riko also went directly to the hospital to accompany Kenanga. The hospital was crowded and boisterous. Many hospital visitors who noticed the large number of soldiers who crowded in front of the UDG room.

Kenanga who was unconscious immediately entered the operating room. Rajawali team with a messy look because it just finished the mission sat down lunglai in the waiting chair. They were all struck by the state of Kenanga who was on the verge of death. Especially Bagas, the captain who felt neglected to protect his team members.

Draps

Alfin came running. His face was hardened.

Angga was about to say hello but Alfin immediately ran into the operating room. Angga undoes his intentions.

Shortly after, Akra and Meilani also came.

"How's Kenanga doing?" ask Meilani to panic.

"Lieutenant is still being dealt with." replied Riko quietly.

Meilani sat down, Akra immediately reached her body.

"Ma, calm down" he said.

"How can I calm down? That kid really always worries!" his sobs.

"Kenanga must be fine. She is a strong woman. It's nothing new Kenanga got hurt on duty." comfort Akra.

Meilani did not answer. She was still crying in her husband's arms.

Bagas who felt guilty approached Akra and Meilani. He took off his hat and looked down inside.

"Sorry commander, it's my fault" he said softly.

"Why is this your fault?" ask Akra.

"I as team captain should protect my members. I should be at the forefront and protect my mission and my team instead of letting my members sacrifice. I apologize and I promise, I will accept any sanctions to account for my negligence." The long words of Bagas were witnessed by all its members.

Akra sighed softly, "You don't have to get this way. Judging from Kenanga's attitude, she must have disobeyed your orders."

Bagas is still down.

"This issue we will talk about later after Kenanga is fine." concluded Akra.

Bagas nodded, "Ready sir."

On the other hand, Alfin directly barged into the operating room. His face looked worried seeing Kenanga lying weak.

"Doctor Alfin." greet one of the doctors.

"Doctor Aji, what's the situation?" ask Alfin.

"The patient was shot in the left chest, two centimeters from the heart. The bullet was taken but the bleeding did not stop. It looks like there's a leak in his vein, we need to dissect it again." explains Dr. Aji.

Alfin grew anxious, soaking his dry lips.

"Good, doc."

Alfin finally went into the operating room. He immediately took over. Alfin tried to remain calm so that his hands would not tremble and instead make things worse.

Time seems to be slow. When Alfin dissected his own wife's chest and also sewed it. He had to really exert all his surgical abilities in order for Kenanga's life to be helped. He won't give up even if he has to sacrifice a lot of time on the operating table.

And it feels like his brain wants to dramatize the situation when his memories with Kenanga are twisted. Especially when they were on phone the same night that Kenanga was shot.

"So what do you like?"

"Mie." answered Kenanga.

"Mie?"

"It was the food my mother always prepared. Every time he went on duty, he always made me noodles first. Or every time he comes home from the battlefield, he goes to the kitchen and cooks noodles and starts telling me about his experience."

"But why noodles?"

"Maybe it's because my mom isn't good at cooking? Just like you, my dad is better at cooking."

"Alright, I'll cook the noodles as soon as brother gets home."

Alfin remembered with his promise to Kenanga that he would cook noodles for the female soldier.

I promised you and I will not neglect it so wake up Alfin.

tit

Alfin and the doctors gasped when the monitor showed an unstable chart. Kenanga's heart pressure dropped as well as her pulse slowed.

Kenanga, please hold on. You're the greatest woman I've ever met, Alfin hopes.

But Kenanga's condition is becoming more unstable. Alfin froze immediately. His hands could no longer be moved. He doesn't know what's been going on. The sound of the monitor continued to sound like a song buzzing in his ears. Alfin blanks instantly.

"Doctor Alfin!" scold the other doctor.

"Doctor Aji, replace Doctor Alfin!" said Dr. Wayan from outside the operating table.

Seeing Alfin in a daze, finally one of the nurses pushed him slowly outside. The treatment was resumed under the control of Doctor Aji.

What's wrong with me? muttering Alfin, he held both sides of his head in frustration.

"You're gonna wait for me to come home?"

"of course. I'll wait for you to come home. Didn't I tell you?"

"Then, I have to go home immediately so that you don't have to wait long."

Suddenly Alfin's eyes opened wide as Kenanga's words echoed in her brain. No, Kenanga can't go home other than here, to the real world. Then Alfin directly barged in. Everyone in the operating room was shocked. But Alfin did not care, he immediately snatched the scalpel from Doctor Aji's hand. He has to save Kenanga no matter what.

Now his hand is steadily beginning to complete the operation.

Sret

The door of the operating room opened, all the members of the Rajawali Team along with Akra and Meilani immediately looked up. Like a bunch of bees looking at a flower, they immediately stormed Doctor Aji.

"How's doctor?" ask Meilani directly.

"The operation went smoothly, although the bullet went through his chest but it was quite far from the heart or other vital organs. It's just that the bullet tore the muscle around his left chest and the patient lost a lot of blood even several times collapsed. Fortunately Doctor Alfin was able to save the patient during his critical moments. The patient is still critical. We'll see tomorrow if things get better or worse."

Meilani almost fell when not held by Akra. She cried sobbing knowing Kenanga's critical condition.

"Thank you so much doc." said Akra.

The doctor went back into the operating room.

"I still can't be relieved. Lieutenant Kenanga is still critical" Panji lirih said.

All the team members sighed softly.

"Once again our family members are hurt. Is it so hard that we can't take care of each other?" timpal Angga's.

Bagas the most depressed. His face even looked aged for several years due to the many burdens he bore.

Angga then squeezed his phone in his pocket, there was a message from their commander to come to the headquarters.

"We need to get back to base. The commander called us." said Angga.

Riko nodded, "Let's go back, Captain."

Bagas shook his head slowly, "No. I want to be there first. You represent me." he said.

Dani patted Bagas on the shoulder, "Captain, this is not your fault entirely. We are all responsible for this incident. Don't keep blaming yourself."

Bagas did not reply, he exhaled his coarse breath.

Akra who saw him turned his head, "You guys are back at headquarters. Finish your work first."

"But the commander..." Bagas was protesting.

But Akra did not let him, he immediately cut him off.

"I'm your superior, and this is clearly an order." he said.

Bagas sighed softly, he seemed to not accept but inevitably he had to obey.

"Captain, we have to finish our job first. Only after this mission is declared complete can we see Lieutenant Kenanga back." explained Riko.

"Come, Captain." take Panji.

Bagas again gave a rough sigh. He finally nodded. All the members sigh in relief.

"We'll excuse you, commander." said Bagas slowly. After saluting, he walked ahead of his comrades.

And in another place, Alfin was sitting next to Kenanga's bed. The woman looked miserable with an oxygen hose in her nose. The face that usually displays a flat look without a smile now many times does not have any look with her beautiful eyes closed peacefully. Her lips, which were usually red even without lipstick, were now colorless and pale. The Kenanga before him was an unusual picture of the Kenanga he knew.

Alfin looked at his two hands that were still full of bloodstains. This is Kenanga blood. Alfin piled his head on the bed, he sighed softly. What if Kenanga couldn't survive, then her nightmare would come true.

Only this time Alfin felt this relaxed while operating on the patient. He was the star doctor on the operating table. Its calm and intelligent carrying makes its operation success reach 90%. But just now, he couldn't think at all. It felt like his brain was left at home.

Alfin looked back at Kenanga. He's laughing a little.

"All of a sudden I thought that two days ago we were married. It was strange and unusual to see my own wife lying weakly before me. Though he promised me that he would come home soon so that I wouldn't wait long." Alfin soaks his dry lower lips.

"But in the end I waited a long time even though he had come home. Either because he's not responsible enough for what he says or because he still wants to travel." Alfin paused for a moment, he took his breath.

"But I'm still going to wait for him to come home. I'm not going anywhere. I'll stay by his side."

And as soon as Alfin said that, Kenanga's fingers moved.
