The Love of the Unknown Man

The Love of the Unknown Man
3. Indemnify

Lisa frowned, folded her hands in front of her chest, and squinted her eyes at the look of the stranger who had since looked confused.

While Juna just heaved a sigh of relief, finding the man he helped had awakened. Even though his memory is gone.

An hour ago Lisa interrogated the man. Ask about his name and family. However, the result is nil.

The stranger always shook his head not knowing every Lisa asked.

"Well, remember exactly what your name is?" Once again Lisa snapped which directly hurt Juna.

"Lisa, free! You didn't hear the doctor's explanation."

Lisa let out a long sigh, and stomped her feet in annoyance. Intention to ask for compensation, it seems like it will only be a mere wishful thinking.

Name only he can't remember. Especially family.

"How about we just give it a new name? So that we don't bother to call you," Juna gave a suggestion.

The stranger just nodded.

"What do we name?"

"I named him Edgar" Lisa said suddenly.

Juna raised his eyebrows. "Edgar? Where's the inspiration, Lisa?"

Lisa looked at the man who was now named Edgar.

"Good name, ‘kan? But don't ge-er, Edgar is the name of the chimpanzee I've seen at the night market."

Juna chuckles. He glanced at the man who had the bottle green colored eye bead.

"Do you like that name?"

Edgar opened his mouth wanting to protest, however, Lisa interrupted first.

"You don't want to, you have to use that name, and one more thing, you have to change our money immediately."

"Lisa, don't talk about it now! Importantly, he was cured first," Juna scolded.

Dislike was evident in Edgar and Lisa's first impressions.

A few days passed until the day Edgar was allowed to go home. He is taken to Lisa and Juna's residence. A simple house in a forest-side village and secluded from the houses of other residents

The trip away from the hospital to the house, made Edgar want to rest sitting on a sofa that had been midget. However, Lisa cleared her throat loudly while folding her hands like a boss.

Edgar tried to ignore Lisa, threw his back against the back of the sofa, and closed his eyes.

"Hi, it's so good that you're feeling good" said Lisa Ketus.

Edgar opened his eyes, "Is there a problem?"

"Heard ya? My father and I have sacrificed a lot of money for you. Since you can't compensate in the form of money, you have to compensate using your energy."

"In what way?"

Lisa opened the window, revealing a pile of firewood that was outside the house.

"Take the wood home!"

"I'm still sick. Why ordered?" Edgar protested, and closed his eyes again.

Lisa growled, then rolled Edgar's body off the couch, so the man fell to the floor.

Edgar had to obey Lisa's orders. He took some dry wood, and put it in the house through the back door.

Edgar accidentally saw a chicken coop right in the backyard. He snorted softly, as soon as his sense of smell caught the smell from the chicken coop.

The back door is directly connected to the kitchen. Edgar put firewood next to the furnace.

For a moment he circulated a sweeping look around the room. The walls and roof of the kitchen were blackened by the smoke and there was a broken plate rack in one corner.

After entering the firewood, Edgar's task did not stop there. He was required to help Lisa harvest the sweet potatoes.

Men with sharp noses, firm jaws, and thin lips. What a perfect face.

However, the most interesting thing Lisa is the Edgar eye bead that is green bottle. Very rarely do people have such eyeballs.

Feeling noticed, Edgar threw a glance at Lisa who suddenly misbehaved and lowered his head.

At night, the three of them ate only with boiled sweet potatoes from the harvest last afternoon. No one protested except Edgar.

Even though he was amnesiac and didn't know what life was like before, he didn't want to eat boiled yams.

"How can I recover quickly if I only eat boiled sweet potatoes? Don't you have any other food?"

For a moment Lisa glanced at Juna, then looked back at Edgar with a look as if she wanted to make her mouth.

"Have you not been taught to be grateful? Fortunately, there are still sweet potatoes. We don't usually have dinner at all."

"I'm not ungrateful but I don't have a taste for boiled sweet potatoes" Edgar's debate won't lose.

Suddenly Juna thrust a medium-sized yam towards Edgar.

"Try first! It does not seem appetizing but after eating you must be addicted," the heavy voice of Juna seemed soft, without any anger.

Instead of not eating at all, Edgar finally took the yam in Juna's hand. There was a slight worry implied on Edgar's face as he was about to stare at the yam.

"Sweet potatoes contain beta carotene which is good for eye health. In addition, antioxidants and fiber also help the digestive system to be healthier and prevent constipation," Lisa chattered with pride.

Slowly Edgar bit the sweet and soft sweet potatoes in the mouth. His hand moved to take one more yam.

"Well, ‘kan? Plus," Lisa laughed mockingly at Edgar.

"I'm starving, you know!" refute Edgar, then devour again the boiled sweet potato.

"Actually I had to eat food like this."

Lisa grumbled while throwing her face. "The man does not know thank you. If it wasn't for us, you might have been a carcass in the woods."

"Lisa, don't fight while eating! Finish your meal after that, go to the room! Tomorrow morning you have to sell yams to the market, ‘kan?"

Instantly Lisa stood up with a facial expression holding back the annoyance. With a step on the trail, he walked into the room and slammed the door.

After apologizing for Lisa's attitude, Juna went into his room to rest and relieve fatigue after a day of work in the fields.

Edgar was alone in the living room. There was a squeaking sound as he lay on the sofa which reot it.

And don't ask if Edgar is comfortable sleeping there. Edgar would rather sleep on the floor than sleep on the couch.

Two hours passed, but Edgar did not go to sleep. Staying at Lisa's house one day is really not she can.

Moreover, it would have to pass for days until his memory was healed. Edgar himself did not know when it was.

Then, Edgar woke up sitting down as soon as his mind came up with an idea to escape from Lisa's house.

Without making a sound, Edgar came out through the front door that was not locked because it had been damaged. For a moment he doubted his intentions.

However, her shadow of Lisa's face penetrated Edgar's mind making him steady himself swinging his legs away from there.

"Thank you for helping me. But, I can't stay here with you guys."

Edgar who did not know the direction actually stepped foot into the forest. Panic and fear emanated clearly from the look in his eyes as soon as he walked among the trees.

Edgar turned around, the shadow of Lisa's house was no longer visible, she had gone far and there was no turning back.

Just then, Edgar heard a growling sound that made his body shudder with goosebumps. He circulated a look looking for that snarling figure.

In the darkness of the night, a pair of eyes lit up behind a bush. The figure came out from his hiding place.

The moonlight that rises from behind the clouds displays the original form of a four-legged animal with a snout that shows sharp teeth.

"S-wolf!"
