[Securing Interstellar Communication]
[Loading.].
The phone in Shujin's hand gave several security alerts as he attempted to connect the calls to a central base far away in another solar system.
He sat on the bed alone in the dimly lit dormitory unit, clutching his phone while staring at his screen flatly, waiting for the security of the call to be completed by the Interstellar Communication System.
While waiting, Shujin's dark eyes glared around. The three beds in this unit look neatly arranged, abandoned by the occupants.
Here, Shujin is not alone. He was a dorm unit with his own subordinates from the team unit he led for the mission this time. All of that could be arranged thanks to the insiders who managed to infiltrate and adapt to the environment of Milderan Academy.
All the plans have been well coordinated, just need to gather more information from the enemy side and wait for the right moment, then they will move immediately.
Moving gives real destruction.
[Communication is connected!]
After the notification disappears, now the phone screen switches on video call communication. There appeared a dark-robed humanoid figure with no face and only one right eye sitting wilfully in front of the communication camera.
Politely Shujin also saluted, “My respect, Captain Zeon Atsashi, to His Esteem—.”
“No need to say my post,” cut the humanoid figure, “Just call me Mr. Ajhu.”
Shujin, or known as the original name Zeon, almost forgot that his boss always wanted to be called ‘Tuan’ instead of calling him with the original position.
“I heard from my subordinates, you tried to contact me since earlier. Is there something you want to say?” ask Shujin politely.
Calmly but impressed firmly, Ajhu said, “Ya. That's unfortunate.... On the first day that you were in the academy, you were already in trouble. And now, I've got word that you've been punished and sanctioned by the academy's security.”
“Actually, what are you thinking, Captain Zeon Atsashi? Don't you fear if someone suspects you?”
Shujin guessed. Sooner or later, his arbitrary actions in the academy will definitely be known to Ajhu. He knows that some of Shujin's subordinates who work under his command also concurrently serve as supervisors overseeing Shujin's movements as team leaders.
Such a thing certainly made Shujin uncomfortable, but he was used to being watched like that, especially if the goal was to assess how good Shujin was on the field.
That way, the top military officers will judge him as an officer to be proud of.
Quietly Shujin replied, “Before, I apologize for my carelessness. All of that happened partly because of my uncontrollable ego, while the rest was intentional because it was part of the mission.”
“Intentionally?” tanya astonished Ajhu while linking the two hands in front, watching Shujin with a sharp gaze through the flaming irises of the typical humanoid black eyeball.
Shujin pointed out a haughty grin, “You must have received a recording of the commotion I made in the testing arena, right?”
Ajhu budged, remembering that he had just finished seeing the video of Shujin's fight against one of the Mids, sent by his subordinates who had also infiltrated the academy.
Ajhu was impressed by the great fight. Shujin's ability in the arena was indeed beyond doubt. Although Shujin had several times failed to paralyze the Taruna, but Shujin's fighting style already looks very good.
In vain he made Shujin one of the officers of pride in his army.
The mysterious cadet has the same face shape and hair color as Astan when he was young, especially with a way of talking that seems to be attached to the enemy, like the typical characteristics of Astan every time he wants to make the enemy more upset with him.
Girdan had speculated, Taruna was probably Astan's biological child. However, Ajhu still could not be immediately convinced. Hence, he made sure to return by contacting Shujin, the figure who had fought the Midshipman directly.
Ajhu nodded, “Ya.... I accepted. The fight was epic. But, I am quite suspicious of the young man you are fighting, Captain Zeon. You know who he is?”
There was a pause for a while before Shujin spoke again.
“Which I know, he is my senior in the Department of Defense Science and Strategy. His full name is Ardanu De’Cornell or more often called Ardan.”
“Cornell, huh..?”
Ajhu recalled that Astan also had the ‘Cornell’ clan behind his name. Astan and Ardan have similar appearance, and the same clan. Supposedly, those points alone are convincing enough that the two have a father-son relationship.
Shujin raised an eyebrow when she saw the boss thinking across the street. “Have realized that Ardan is the son of Astan?”
Ajhu slightly beamed when back facing the communication camera. It seemed, Shujin had also realized the match between the two.
“At first, I'm not sure because I haven't asked you who has faced it directly. But after hearing your words earlier, I began to believe that Ardanu De’Cornell was the son of Astan Pradipta Cornell.”
“Keep, what's your reason for looking for trouble with Astan's son?” ask Ajhu again calmly and look dignified.
Shujin twirled his two dark eyeballs. Actually, if it were not for duty, he was lazy to explain this.
“You dare to roll your eyes in front of your boss, Captain Zeon,” said Ajhu was still calm.
“I'm sorry, Mr.” Shujin explained, “Actually, from the beginning of knowing Ardan served as a senior advisor in my group, I began to suspect that this child had something to do with Astan. So, I tried to provoke his response by demeaning the people there and this academy. And apparently, his personality is almost the same as you describe about Astan's own personality.”
“I also know the appearance and personality of Astan through your story and some military officials who know very well the life history of Astan. So, I can conclude Ardan's relationship with Astan. The rest, I don't really know.”
Shujin had a heavy sigh, “.... However, somehow Ardan's personality if faced directly even make me upset. I also had enough difficulty controlling my emotions and ego to reciprocate Ardan's behavior which I found very laughable.”
“She even reminds me of...”.
Shujin's mind twists the memory of the past, of male humanoid beings who continue to smile, be kind to others, not hesitate to help anyone in distress, but instead end up dead by the betrayal of others.
The humanoid has a personality that is almost the same as Ardan, the difference is Ardan is more frontal in conveying his dislike. But both are the same.
Equally naive. Appreciating others, acting like a hero, good-natured, and smart-ass.
Shujin is fed up with people like them. Therefore, he was eager to teach Ardan a lesson until he almost forgot the mission and offense he would get at the academy.
“You know for yourself, Captain. A true warrior must not engage ego and feelings while on a mission.”
“I understand, and forgive me for my sassness in this new mission I am running,” please be polite Shujin. “To the front, I promise to be more careful in acting.”
Now it is the turn of Ajhu to sigh.
In fact, he was a bit hesitant to entrust Shujin to the mission of infiltrating and supervising the state of Mideran Academy because of his personal difficulty adapting to the social environment.
However, due to his fighting ability and genius, Ajhu entrusted this mission to Shujin, according to the recommendation of one of the officers.
“After knowing the truth about this Ardan, do you have any new purpose to go after it as well?” ask Shujin as decently as possible.
