The Promise You Make

The Promise You Make
66. Adisti's Answer

Yasa sat alone in a restaurant. His heart was beating irregularly. In his heart he felt misgivings, afraid that the woman he was waiting for would never come. His gaze had not been separated from the entrance, hoping that there would be people waiting there.

The man lowered his head, it seemed like this time he had completely lost. Adisti no longer wants to see him. There is no hope of getting back together with the woman he loves. The coffee in front of him was cold, no longer delicious.

"Sorry, I'm late" said a woman standing near Yasa's desk.

Instantly the man raised his head. The once gloomy face was now radiant, not expecting the woman who was waiting for finally came too. Who else if not Adisti. Yasa stood up from his chair and invited the person to sit in front of him.

The man was so amazed by the appearance of Adisti who looked so beautiful. Very different from the usual days.

Today Adisti is deliberately beautiful for the man in front of him. She purposely wears the best dress she has in the boutique. Earlier before here the woman also went to a salon to beautify herself. The result was not in vain, Adisti managed to make Yasa amazed until unconscious since he smiled so widely.

"I'm sorry if I made you wait too long" Adisty said, making Yasa wake up from her daydream.

"Oh no! You're not late, it's still dinner time. I'm glad that you finally came too" Yasa said with a smile.

"Why indeed? Do you think I won't come?"

"Yes. I wasn't confident and thought you wouldn't accept me."

"I haven't said anything yet. I didn't come to accept you, did I?" adisti said making a smile on Yasa's face fade away.

The woman had not said anything, but Yasa had said that if Adisti gave her a chance, she should come Saturday night. If not then there is no need to come, whereas now Adisti is in front of him. Perhaps the woman was deliberately playing with her feelings. However, it feels impossible because Adisti is not a person who likes to play around, especially about feelings.

"No need to be too tense. You came to invite me to dinner, didn't you? This is still no dish at all" said Adisti while showing his table that there is only a cup of coffee owned by Yasa who was cold.

"Oh yes! Sorry."

Yasa called a servant. He had already ordered some food, now just serve it. It just so happened that the man ordered Adisti's favorite food.

"Do you remember my favorite food?" adisti asked while looking at the dish in front of him.

"Of course I'll always remember, even now I'm starting to like it too" replied Yasa who also showed me the food in front of her, making Adisti smile, unexpectedly with the food the man had chosen.

They both enjoyed dinner quietly. Although right now Yasa's feelings are not okay. He was thinking about what answer Adisti would give.

"Why are you worried about me? Is there something strange on my face or is my way of eating wrong, so you've seen me like that?" adisti asked while touching her face.

"So you don't expect me anymore? Did you just give up?"

"I'm not giving up. I just express what I feel. I don't want to see you sad anymore so, I hope you'll be happy later. Even if not with me. If being with me makes you sad and being with someone else makes you happy, I will."

"But I want to be with you always. I just want to continue my life with you."

"Ma–you mean?" yasa asked with a pounding heart, he did not expect to hear that sentence from Adisti's lips.

Adisti took a deep breath and said, "I've thought through everything from one week ago. I've decided that I want to start a new life with you. I don't know what kind of destiny we will have. I can only pray that we are always happy."

"Thank God, do you really want to take me back? Adisti smiled while nodding his head.

Yasa clasped Adisti's palm and thanked the woman for giving her a chance. He could say nothing more because he was too happy. Really Adisti really stirred up his feelings.

"I will prove to you that I truly love you."

"I hope so too. May we be happy always."

"certain. I'll try to build happiness in our family later."

Yasa was so happy, he didn't know what to do. Too happy to know what to say. Adisti was no less happy. The burden that the woman had felt now could finally come off. It turned out that it was not bad to also accept Yasa's presence back, hoping that after this they could undergo all the trials that came together.

"Continue eating. After this I'll take you home. Actually I want to take you for a walk, but it's late. I know that you don't like going out at night" Yasa said.

Adisti nodded and resumed his meal. So was Yasa, but the man still occasionally glanced at Adisti. In his heart he was afraid that what happened today was just a dream. Yasa is grateful that this is really true.

After dinner, the man drove Adisti home. Yasa deliberately asked the woman to leave her car there. Later there will be people who take it because he does not want something to happen to Adisti. At first the woman refused because she was used to going home alone, but because she did not want to disappoint Yasa, she finally complied. There's no harm in going one car with that guy.

"When are you ready to accept my family's arrival?" yasa asked as the two were on their way home.

Adisti was surprised and looked towards the man. "Does it have to be that fast?"

"My age is no longer young so there's no need to wait too long. Do you want to postpone it?" asked Yasa with a sad expression.

"That's not what I mean. I've known your family before, but we haven't seen each other in a long time. We don't know how they respond. If my family is clear they are no longer there, there is only Om Edwin and Aunt Soraya, papa's two sisters. I don't think they mind either. I'm only afraid that your family will reject my presence."
