The Promise You Make

The Promise You Make
97. Apologizing

"Master, there's Miss Irene downstairs," Rio said as soon as he entered his superior's room.

Yasa was staring towards Rio with his confused face. "Didn't today have no appointment with him, why did it suddenly come?"

"I also don't know, sir, because indeed the work with Miss Irene is already underway and there is no meeting anytime soon."

Yasa sighed and said, "Let's just say that I'm busy and don't want to be bothered, there's a lot of work I have to get done today."

"Okay, sir, I'll tell you soon."

Rio also sent a message to the receptionist to say what his superior said earlier. The man retrieves the file on Yasa's desk which he has signed and intends to exit. However, his superior first prevented it.

"Wait a minute, Rio. I want to talk to you about something."

"Yes, sir," said Rio who was still standing beside her.

"Sit down! I want to talk casually, let's just say I'm your best friend so, don't call master, just call me by name."

"Yes, sir, but it feels so strange and stiff."

"Fun it from now on. Aren't you going to marry Vira so, if you don't call your master at home, just call her name like Vira."

"I'll try."

"Goodoo. So look, I want to talk about my household. Yesterday there was someone who deliberately sent me a photo while Irene and I were having lunch. Back then I was just with him and you were different tables. You know the reason Irene didn't want a rame. I'm the bad one so can't resist, but there are people who accidentally take pictures and send it to Adisti and make my wife angry. She misunderstood me, saying that I had cheated when it was obvious that I had no feelings for Irene. Whaddya think? Who did it and what was the motive?"

"I'm sorry, sir, se—"

"Call Yasa alone," cut the uncomfortable Yasa while talking about personal matters, but Rio was still so formal.

"Yes, Yasa. Actually yesterday I was angry with you for taking Miss Irene's request for granted. If Miss Irene can't eat a rame-rame, why not just be alone with her assistant. Isn't that more convenient than having to one table with you? I think it's just her wits. Maybe he already knew there was someone taking pictures of him or maybe it was intentional that he was commanding that person or Miss Irene was indeed cooperating with the person taking the picture. I don't know either, but the obvious purpose of the sender of the photo is definitely to want your relationship and Miss Adisti destroyed. I can't imagine what will happen to Miss Adisti. He was once betrayed, whether now it will be the same even if you do it unconsciously."

"I can't possibly do that, Rio. Yesterday purely I wanted to host him as a client only no more," said Yasa who did not accept himself to blame.

"Because from now on you have to be careful because not all good intentions are good goals as well. Nowadays it is very difficult to trust someone."

At lunchtime, Yasa handed the rest of the work to Rio, going to the wife's boutique and apologizing to her. Truly the man felt tormented at the cold attitude of his wife, better to lose the tender than to make his wife angry.

Rio himself felt annoyed when Yasa casually handed the job to him, whereas the man's own work was piling up, but his boss instead added it. However, after knowing the reason Yasa left, he was very supportive.

Yasa drove his car at high speed, until not long until also in the boutique wife. At lunchtime like this, the boutique looks so crowded. The man deliberately brought some lunch boxes for Adisti and also the employees there. He knew that the employees would not have had time to eat lunch with many buyers like this. Yasa does come here often so, he knows very well how many Adisti employees.

"Good day, sir, would you like to see Mrs Adisti?" greet officer.

"Yes, he exists, right?"

"There, Sir. Mrs Adisti is in her room, you go straight there."

Yasa also handed over the food he bought to the employee in order to share it with friends. The man only brought two boxes for himself and his wife. Yasa knocked on the door of Adisti's room slowly. Despite her status as a husband, still they are currently in the boutique and Adisti is the boss and owner of this place so, she must respect it.

"Mas, why didn't you come here to say something?" adisti asked after asking the person who knocked on the door to enter. He thought it was one of his employees.

"I deliberately didn't say because I wanted to make a surprise for you" Yasa replied with a smile.

Adisti took the box that was brought by her husband and took him to sit on the sofa. Yasa followed his wife because he knew what the woman was going to do.

"Darling, I want to apologize to you for last night's troubles. I really never intended to joke around with you, let alone play with Irene or another woman. It never crossed my head to betray you. Whether you believe it or not, I tell you the truth. You're the only woman and forever will accompany me."

Adisti looked at the husband, in fact he had also forgiven Yasa, just had not had time to speak together. "Mas, I've forgiven you so, you don't have to apologize anymore. I also believe in you, you will not betray me. I realized that the sender of the photo had deliberately wanted us to separate and I was stupid for eating his slander."

"No, you're not stupid. Everyone will think the same as you if you want to see a photo like that. We better forget about this. I've been trying to avoid Irene. I understand your intentions and I don't want to hurt you even if I do it unconsciously."

"You didn't mean to cancel the cooperation with that woman, did you, Mas?"

"Of course not. Many employees are dependent on the project, there is no way I can cancel it. I leave everything to Rio, unless there is an urgent matter then I will intervene."

Adisti smiled and said, "Thank you, Mas. You have tried to guard my heart. I'll also try to understand your work so, you don't have to bother anymore to avoid female clients."

"Nothing is hard for my wife."
