The Promise You Make

The Promise You Make
73. Proposal

"Adisti, why hasn't your husband arrived yet?" ask Om Edwin.

"Maybe it's still on the way, Om," replied Adisti, who tried to calm everyone down, but he was also worried, but he tried to cover it up.

"The time from now on hasn't come!"

Vira who knew Adisti's confusion immediately approached the father not to ask again. He did not want his cousin to be more agitated because he had not calmed down since then.

"Papa, we'd better wait in the living room. Soon it will come, too" said Vira while taking the papa away from there.

The understanding Edwin nodded and followed his daughter. Maybe he was too worried. This is also less than ten minutes from the promised time. It was indeed the base of impatient parents waiting.

Sure enough, five minutes later it appeared several cars entered the yard of the Adisti family home. The people in the house were of course surprised because they thought that only Yasa and his parents had come. Yasa also said nothing about anyone who would come along. Adisti also did not ask, but this was even some cars that followed him. Fortunately, there were some neighbors who came to help.

Everyone went down one by one. If counted, they numbered about twenty-five. Everyone shook hands with each other, then sat in the living room which is now called the tapestry. Adisti came out accompanied by Aunt Soraya and Vira. They sit in the place provided.

Adisti smiled, his gaze staring at one by one the guests present. Although a little stiff, but as much as possible the woman welcomed her guest well and smiled. Until his eyes accidentally fell on Haris. Adisti knows exactly who the man is, who is Yasa's cousin.

Haris who used to always throw tantrums with him and vilify Yasa in front of him. As her gaze with the man met, Haris was seen grinning towards him. But Adisti did not care at all and preferred to stare at other guests. In her heart she wondered why Yasa had invited Haris.

Adisti always told Yasa that if he did not like the existence of a cousin of his lover, but how else because Yasa still has family ties, surely they are still connected. Later when he married the lover of course every family event will always meet and Adisty must start to get used to it.

Someone within is a representative of the Yasa family conveying his family's desire to come here, which is to propose to Adisty for Yasa and become the daughter-in-law in their family. The Adisti family responded well and accepted the nist. Until finally Yasa himself expressed his intention to propose to the lover directly in front of both families. Adisti accepted it sincerely.

Both families are so happy and grateful, hoping both brides-to-be can go through every obstacle they will face. The parents also talked about a good day to carry out their marriage. Until finally the agreement is made if the marriage contract and wedding party will be done in two months. It felt like it was quite all preparation considering who their family was.

Anything can happen with money. It was not difficult for them to take out everything they had. The ring is already coiled on Adisti's ring finger, of course Yasa who wears it, alternating with the woman who pairs it on her fiance's ring finger.

Om Edwin as a substitute for Adisti's parents chatted with his guests so warmly. He also allowed them to enjoy all the dishes.

"Today you're so beautiful" whispered Yasa softly which only the two could hear.

Adisti's face flushed red and made the woman lower her head in embarrassment. He was also afraid that others would hear him. After being able to control himself, the woman held her head up trying to look around it turned out that everyone was busy enjoying the dish.

"Of course it's always pretty because to me you're the most beautiful woman in the world. It's just that today I saw you look more special."

"Men are good at fighting."

"I'm not flirting. I'm telling the truth because I think only you are the most beautiful."

Adisti turned his face so that Yasa did not see it, it was certain that by this time his face would have been flushed. That guy is really good at making it wrong.

"Oh yeah, why was Haris there?" ask Adisti who deliberately wants to divert the conversation. He had also been curious about the presence of the man, but only this time could he ask directly.

My mother invited him. I also didn't know that he would come too because I didn't invite him. I know you don't like him and are always at odds, but anyway, he's my cousin. I don't want him to be on my show."

Adisti breathed a rough breath, not his intention to break the silaturrahmi between families. It's just that it shouldn't be a good person. The man always had a way to make others upset and hurt. Hopefully now it has changed over time.

"Yes, I understand, it's okay. He's also your cousin. Moreover, your relationship is also very close."

"Not really. I haven't been close to her since breaking up with you. I also knew that he had been nice in front of me all along and had always vilified me in the back. I'm sorry I didn't believe you and made us fight a lot."

"Oh, forget it. It's all over, too."

Everyone still seemed to be busy chatting while enjoying the dishes. Until everything is finished. Yasa and his family say goodbye to coming home. Not to forget also the Adisti family gave gifts to be brought souvenirs.

Adisti and his family escorted the Yasa family to the terrace of the house. Everyone shook hands and left the house. The neighbors also left because the event was over. Adisti thanked them for being willing to attend and help this event run smoothly.

"From that moment on, smile and look at the ring. I'll be envious to see it" Vira told her cousin who is currently in her room.

"What the hell are you! Can't I smile?"

"Not allowed, but later he was afraid of being thought to be crazy because of his own smiles."

Adisti hits Vira's arm until her cousin complains of pain. "Here you are, when was the proposal yourself? Didn't you say yesterday you wanted to be fooled by Om Edwin with someone?"
