Chapter 99 Something is strange.

Hans would not have expected that if his belief in Alfred had been betrayed, he should have realized from the beginning that Alfred was not a good man.

The past Hans ….

Back when Hans was still living in the upper world, he was good friends with Alfred. There was nothing strange in Alfred's personality, he was a perfect boy in the eyes of many.

When Hans and Alfred went to the human world again to practice, they trained to win the hearts of the many who gained their power and became their descendants.

That's when Rani appears in the lives of both of them, Rani is a naughty girl and is very different from other noble girls. He played with men to hate many girls his age, Hans himself did not like the mischievous attitude of Rani.

There was a time when Hans returned with an annoyed look to the residence where he lived with Alfred, the whole body of little Hans was wet and full of mud.

"You why?" ask Alfred who refused to approach Hans.

"Rani and her friends doused me with water, then pelted me with mud. They are outrageous and unforgivable" Hans replied.

Alfred's face became flat at that moment. But Hans did not realize it, he did not know at that time Alfred had given a special place for Rani in his heart.

"Servant, bring 5 urns of water. Clean Hans' body before he stepped inside the residence" Alfred ordered the servants.

"Tch! it's so dirty," said Alfred as it passed from there, Hans plain who heard the speech just felt the word dirty Alfred meant was mud on his body.

Alfred went back to his room and he took out a knife from the drawer, quietly came out of his room and went into Hans's room. 

"How dare he insult Rani. Rani is a good girl just a little naughty, her own fault is not willing to be friends with Rani. You loner boy! if I hadn't approached you first then you wouldn't have had any friends, a child of death like you wouldn't have deserved to insult Rani" Alfred said.

Alfred stabbed Hans's beloved bird, the bird had been a friend to him since childhood so Alfred killed the bird as punishment because Hans had insulted his friend.

After learning that the bird was dead Hans cried so loudly, he blamed the servants who were not very good at guarding his room. While Alfred was feeling guiltless, daring to calm Hans down as if this had happened not because of him.

Time passed by Alfred became very close to Rani and slowly all of Rani's friends began to move away for unclear reasons, Hans himself was reluctant to approach Rani if she came to the residence at Alfred's invitation.

"Missing again," Inner Hans. This is the umpteenth time he failed to hit the target while practicing archery.

One arrow shot quickly against Hans' target board, Hans was startled and started to search for who had released the arrow.

"Hey! down here!" Rani yells at Hans while waving her bow.

"Huh? how can you shoot at a distance of 100 meters? that's the training distance for adults" Hans said in disbelief.

Rani launches one more arrow to prove if she can, and sure enough again she succeeds. "Hows it? not terrific? I'm a genius son."

"Want I teach you no? it's free, you know," Rani's tease makes Hans so worried. 

"You're naughty, I don't want to be close to a brat like you. Forget it, I can hire a great archer to train me" Hans refused.

"Basic revenge. Are you still angry about that? I'm sorry well, I thought you'd like it. It's not me who pelt you with mud anyway. I'm sorry, want to play with me no?"

"Free. Only selected children can play with me, you can't stand it."

"We won't know if we don't try, will we?"

"Well, as long as you're not going to be naughty."

Because the two became friends, Rani often followed Hans reading books, drinking tea, and practicing using weapons. For Rani this is not boring at all even she is very comfortable.

"Yes! this is today's last book. I have to find Rani first before I go home, "Hans inner self descends from the table and starts browsing through the library in search of Rani.

"Eh! Alfred, are you here?" hans asked who had accidentally met Alfred.

Alfred hit Hans with all his might, causing Hans to fall to the floor, "You said you don't want to be friends with Rani, then lately you guys became close even yesterday you went out with his family hunting without taking me. I'm your real friend not Rani, so don't get too close to Rani."

"What's true of you, why are you jealous of Rani. Rani is my friend because she likes what I like, yesterday went hunting it was also because invited by her. I won't leave you alone if things don't force you to be my first friend" Hans replied. He misunderstood Alfred's intentions.

"Then come back, don't look for Rani. I'll replace you looking for him" said Alfred. In order to keep Alfred feeling, Hans left the library and went back to the room. 

How surprised Hans found his room was in a mess, all his belongings were damaged even the clothes in the closet had been scattered on the floor in a state of torn all.

"Who did this?" hans shouted to the Alfred residence.

It was not long before Alfred and Hans returned to the upper world. But when they were adults, Hans was sent to the underworld because it was time for him to inherit the father's throne as the god of death.

Hans rarely met with Alfred or Rani, until Alfred came alone to see him.

"Hans." Alfred was so until he immediately hugged Hans, his embrace was so tight that Hans' body hurt.

"Take it off." Hans let go of Alfred's embrace forcefully, "What happened? you look really upset."

"Look at me. Am I handsome?" Alfred asked without answering Hans.

"Yes, you're handsome. Why?"

"Look well, is it really good-looking?"

"Why are you? your face is handsome even very handsome for me."

"No way." Alfred covered his face.

Brakes.

"Yahooo, Hansa. Long time no see," shouted Rani who broke into the main hall of the Kingdom of Death.

"Ra-rani? are you here?" Hans is surprised to see Rani, he stares at Rani and Alfred alternately.

"Of course, we're neighbors now. I'll .. uh! Is Alfred here?" Rani runs up to Alfred, "What is this? you visited Hans apparently, without saying anything to me. Cheating."

"Hahahaha, sorry. After this I intend to visit you for a surprise" replied Alfred smiling at Rani.

Both of them may look fine in the eyes of others. But not in Hans's eyes, he knew something was going on between them and was the cause of Alfred's strange question.
