CHAPTER 1 HURTS BUT SAVES

Establishing a romantic relationship is not enough just to capitalize on the love between each pair of lovers. There needs to be complete loyalty between the two.

"What's up, Mel?" asked Raihan as if impatient. His heart felt a bad feeling. "You just make me curious. What are you talking about?"

Melinda did not answer or respond to Raihan's words just now. For a moment he smiled as he looked a little strangely at Raihan.

"How long have we been dating, Mas Rai?" finally Melinda said in a questionable tone after a moment of silence. Her smile had now disappeared, sinking behind her beautiful face which was now flat expression.

"Yaaah, it's been over a year" said Raihan still trying to behave normally even though his heart had begun to suspect. "What do you ask me about that?"

"Are you sure that our relationship will continue to reach the level of marriage?" melinda asked, starting to sound strange.

"Yes sure as hell to, Mel," said Raihan remained with his East Java accent, "we'll love each other. Or do you suddenly doubt my love?"

"I don't doubt your love, Mas Rai," Melinda said honestly. "But I doubt our relationship will last if we're like this."

"I'm sure how do you mean?" asked Raihan surprised in surprise.

"You will know for yourself that I am the son of a rich man, the son of a famous businessman," Melinda said cynically. "As for you, family is not clear. You're just a factory employee from a long time ago."

"Continue?" raihan said in a flat tone.

"I don't think I'll be able to survive long with you while you're in such a state."

"Pie to, Mel? How did you suddenly discuss the matter?" raihan said trying to remain patient over the words spoken by Melinda that clearly contain insults.

"Aren't you the one who said you wouldn't have a problem with my status?" continued Raihan. "As long as we love each other."

"But why are you suddenly talking about it now? As if it was a big deal."

"Obviously it's a big deal for me, Mas Rai" Melinda said without being held back. "I cannot live with a man whose life is mediocre."

"Why are you suddenly weird like this, Mel?" raihan said trying to remain patient and calm. "Over a year since we've been dating, you've never brought this up. But why are you fighting it now?"

"Frankly, I've been wanting to talk to you about this for a long time, Mas Rai" Melinda said. "But I'm afraid I'll hurt your feelings."

"But if I don't talk now, keep holding myself in my heart" he continued, "you won't know my true feelings right now."

"Frankly, actually I can't bear to talk to you about this matter at times like this, Mas Rai. But how else, I can't keep holding it for long...."

"I must reveal it to you even if I have to."

"You should remember that we love each other" Raihan is still trying to persuade. "I'm sure you'll still love me."

"Remember our commitment from a long time ago" he continued. "We will face all obstacles together. As long as we love each other, as long as we stay together. Have you forgotten?"

"Sorry, Mas Rai, I've been forced to break our commitment. Anyway, I don't really love you anymore...."

"Is it because you already love another man, that you don't love me anymore?" raihan asked curiously while testing his honesty. "You asked to break up."

"I don't think it's because of that" Melinda said without thinking first in a convincing tone. But he's clearly lying.

Raihan just shut up about Melinda's lies. It seemed like he didn't want to make a fuss about it too far. She thought Melinda had planned it long ago.

She suspects that Melinda is in love with the man. And of course the man was a rich young man according to Melinda's criteria. The most important thing is that the young man is certainly the choice of the ort.

So Raihan asked again to compete not to know the lies Melinda.

"Our relationship was not sanctioned by my parents" Melinda said honestly. "You already know that. My parents don't want to have a daughter-in-law like you."

"Let's think about it again" Raihan said, still trying to persuade. "You must still love me. I think your decision to break up was just a momentary emotion."

"I told you that I've been thinking about my decision carefully" Melinda remained unchanged. "I've been wanting to break up with you for a long time since you know."

"So, it's useless for you to persuade me to change my decision."

"I'm afraid that later on you'll regret it" Raihan sighed in desperation to persuade.

"Repent or not sorry, it's my decision," said Melinda still trying hard with her decision. "I'll bear the risk. You don't have to think about that."

Then, seeing that Raihan was not speaking anymore, Melinda continued to say the words before parting with Raihan.

"I'm sorry for all my mistakes with you. And I ask you very much to forget me. Assume we never knew each other. Suppose you never met me...."

"Because after this I will forget you forever...."

"Your words really hurt my feelings, Mel," said Raihan, trying to stay strong and patient even though his heart was getting sore. "Where can I possibly forget you?"

"That's up to you. Sorry, I think I've been here too long. I'm sorry, Mas Rai. Take good care of yourself!"

After that Melinda immediately stood up from her chair quickly, then stepped half-run and without turning her head at all. As if it really proves that he will forget Raihan forever.
