CHAPTER 4 MEETING THAT BRINGS NO RESULTS

Without hiding it anymore, Melinda told her love story with Raihan when Friska asked. But Melinda told me briefly, the only cores. Not in detail.

Remember, in this cafe where Raihan works. Melinda felt bad for Raihan if for example the young man heard Melinda tell others about themselves.

"Honestly, I didn't know that you guys were already working in Jakarta" he continued.

Then Bayu immediately turned to look at Raihan. The look in his eyes seemed to ask, why did Raihan not tell him that the young man had met Melinda in the cafe?

"I consider the meeting with him unimportant," said Raihan flat-pitched as if he knew the meaning of Bayu's gaze. He turned to Bayu for a moment, then looked the other way again."So why am I telling you something that doesn't matter?"

Melinda's heart immediately jolted hard enough where when she heard Raihan's words just now.

His heart that has been overwhelmed with grief saw the attitude of Raihan who ignored him, added sad when he heard his words. It was obvious that Raihan no longer considered it.

"It seems like Melinda's mom wants to meet you," Bayu said as if to tell you that Raihan already knows. "Do you want to talk to him?"

"We're going home yo, Bay!" invite Raihan as if not to criticize Bayu's words. "I'm so tired. I want to sleep fast."

"Mas Rai, please, I'll talk to you for a second!" serobot Melinda quickly pitched pleading with a parched face. "May ya."

"Mr Melinda, I am just a poor man" Raihan said in a cold, flat tone. "Where is it appropriate for his mama to meet poor people like me, let alone to talk everything."

"I'm sorry, Mas Rai" Melinda said. Both of his eyes were glazed over. It seems like her tears will soon be shed.

"I didn't mean to insult you with my words the other day" he continued. "I have my reasons. Please hear my explanation first!"

"Mbak Melinda, now we have no relationship anymore," Raihan responded flatly. "So, there's nothing to explain or talk about."

"I want to tell you the truth why I asked you to break up" Melinda said, still not giving up. But consciously or not his tears have been glistening on both of his smooth white cheeks.

"Please give me a chance to talk! Please give me a chance to let me clear everything!"

"Just keep that explanation aside, Melinda said, because it means nothing to me" Raihan remained unaffected.

"Remember, Ma'am! Sampean already has a girlfriend who is certainly better and more interesting than me," continued Raihan reminded and insinuated. "Especially richer. Not like me, poor man's son."

"So, please don't see me again, I'll be run over by her boyfriend Melinda!"

"The mother is not wrong," said Raihan still pitched flat. "What's wrong is that I'm willingly courting a rich man's son."

"No, Mas Rai, you're not wrong" Melinda said with tears streaming down her head. "I'm sorry...."

"Now you go home! Don't meet me again! I don't want to have any problems with my girlfriend. I'm just a poor man."

Then Raihan turned around quickly, continuing to step towards the parking lot. No more crying Melinda who has exploded.

"Mas Rai, wait!"

"That's it, Melinda!" bayu said. "Just follow what Rai said. For the good of Mbak and the good of Rai. Don't force things!"

After saying so, Bayu also turned around and headed straight for the parking lot following Raihan. While Melinda still kekeh want to approach Raihan.

But Friska who had just been silent was quick to catch Melinda. Keep saying comfort him.

"Udah, Lin. Maybe this is not the right time for you to talk to Ray. We're looking for another good time."

"But, Fris, Mas Rai must know that I have no intention of betraying him."
