CHAPTER 5 THE RELATIONSHIP CAN NO LONGER BE CONTINUED

Raihan and Melinda have not seen each other since their meeting that night. More precisely Melinda who no longer came to see Raihan.

Because Raihan does not care anymore about the situation of the girl who has betrayed him. Even Raihan was happy not to be pestered again by Melinda.

He actually did not want to see Melinda anymore because he had forgotten about her. In a sense he no longer loved her. But that doesn't mean he hates it.

It would be dangerous if Melinda ever saw him again, especially often. It is feared that Melinda's boyfriend, Miko, will find out.

If it is seen by Miko Melinda meeting with Raihan, of course she will face the Miko. If that happens, the problem will be long.

With a forced finally Raihan want to meet and talk to Melinda. But with the stipulation there is no reciprocation between them.

How glad Melinda was that Raihan wanted to see her and would listen to her explanation. Although feeling a bit disappointed Raihan requires not to discuss about reciprocation.

Though Melinda had planned, after explaining everything she had covered up during their first date, she would ask Raihan for her return.

But he didn't mind it first. That's what he'll think about later. The important thing is Raihan wants to listen to his explanation why he asked to break up the other day.

To make it more pleasant and more relaxed they chat, Melinda invited Raihan to the park. And Raihan followed without any intention of refuting.

"Sorry, Ma'am, please let go of Ma'am's hand!" not responding to Melinda's plea, Raihan instead reprimanded the girl who was still holding her hand. His face was also moving in another direction.

Slowly Melinda took off her hand which gently blocked both hands of Raihan. Then take one step back. But his pair of sad eyes had not been willing to look away at the young man.

While her beautiful face, which once painted a sweet smile full of happiness, is now shrouded in gloomy sadness.

"I can't say that if I don't see for myself" Raihan said.

"I saw Mbak with another man when Mbak was still living in Surabaya" he continued. "We were still dating at the time."

Hearing Raihan's words made Melinda even more sad. Getting deeper in regrets. Giving birth to feelings of guilt that made her feel even more embarrassed towards Raihan.

Apparently Raihan already knew that he had been in a relationship with Miko, the young man of his master's choice. Yet....

"Why don't you say you want me to cheat? Why aren't you my nigger?"

"Who am I, Ma'am, how dare I rebuke a rich kid like Ma'am?" raihan said expressing his defeatist attitude. "I'm quite self-conscious."

"I can only be patient and pray that one day you can realize your mistake" continued Raihan.

"But I've seen Mbak a few times with the man, and it seems like Mbak seems so happy with him...."

"Then I thought to myself, why am I so stupid to still be with a woman who has betrayed my love and loyalty so sincerely?"

"I should have realized from the beginning that rich kids like Mama would have chosen rich kids too. Not picking poor young men like me."

The cloud of sadness wrapped the beautiful face of Melinda who increasingly bitter to hear all the curses of Raihan at length. Until without being able to hold back her tears that rolled on both cheeks.

"Not like that, Mas Rai, not like the one you're looking at," Melinda argued amid tears of sadness, as if to explain the truth. "You misunderstood me."

"Continue what then?" tanya Raihan gave Melinda the space to argue. "Why did you say I misunderstood you?"

"You need to know that I love you sincerely" Melinda said. "Even to this day my love for you cannot be lost."

"But on the other hand I can't argue with my parents' will" she continued, "who I'm with is their man of choice."

"I was forced to accept their choice, Mas Rai, even though I didn't love him...."

For a moment Melinda stopped talking as if taking a breath. But the patter of his tears continued to flow even though it had been shrunk several times with his fingers.

While Raihan was still silent, as if he did not want to interrupt Melinda's words. Give the girl a chance to talk.

Then Raihan turned around quickly, leaving the garden, leaving behind Melinda who could only stand in silence. Without being able to do anything other than just stare at Raihan's back which was getting further away.

"I still love you, Mas Rai," Melinda said in a soft tone. "Why don't you want to understand?"
