chapter 16. He's Back

Towards the road home Ayanda kept silent and leaned her head against the windshield of the car. Rion felt that something was different from his wife when he picked her up.

"Darling, what's wrong?" Rion spoke softly while clasping his wife's hand.

"It's okay, I'm just tired" he replied, confirming his sitting position.

"You're tired, you don't have to go to the branch store tomorrow. You're quite quiet at home," he said.

"Dear, I'm comfortable and happy with my job maybe my body is still not used to it because of the relaxed ease at home" he said.

"Yes it should be that Madame Juanda is relaxing at home right, spending Mr. Rion Juanda's money. Let me do the hard work for you" he said.

"Shall we argue here? I'm tired of Yank" said Ayanda.

Rion just fell silent and continued to drive his car towards his house. Not long after that they arrived home.

"I went back to the central store again yes, you took a break immediately" Rion said before Ayanda got out of the car and was answered with a nod of the head by Ayanda. Rion kissed his wife and left.

Ayanda immediately stepped into the upper room, the room that was used as a place of work and a place for her to reflect. Still ringing in his head about that woman. The woman who ruined his life and love.

As Ayanda was waiting for Rion in the front waiting room of the Shop, she saw a woman across the street carrying a paper bag. He was very familiar with that face. Shortly after, the woman passed in front of the branch store, but did not realize that Ayanda was sitting in the waiting chair. Just by looking at the woman's face, instantly her body was limp boneless. The bitter memories of the past turned back, the wounds he had tried to close tightly gaping again.

Dinda already knows all Rion's business is bankrupt and there is nothing more to expect from Rion. Many times Rion called Ayanda but there was never an answer. Even sending messages has no reply.

Actually Rion is very worried but the work piles up that requires him to work overtime.

At 20:30 Rion was finished with his work. He rushed home because he was worried about his wife who from the afternoon did not answer the phone from him.

At Home.

"Mom, where's Mom? Did you eat?" ask Rion to Ma'am Ina.

"Above sir, from earlier home from work mother has not come down."

"Yet again sleep Well maybe soy sauce, was Echa already up," said Echa while carrying a snack.

Rion rushed to the upper room. He saw his wife curled up in bed without a blanket and still wearing the clothes she had worn to the branch store. Rion approached him and looked in the face of his sleeping wife. He kissed his wife's forehead and confirmed Ayanda's hair covering her face.

"Are you working this late?" he said slowly as he looked into his wife's face, stroking her cheek gently.

Ayanda felt that something was disturbing her sleep and slowly opened her eyes, and it was her husband's face that she first saw when she actually opened her eyes.

"Are you awake?" rion asked still stroking his wife's hair.

"What time is this?" ask again

"Nine hours."

"You overtime? It's just coming home at this hour" she said seeing her husband still wearing his work clothes.

"Yes, I forgot to tell you to keep calling you but not pick up so I'm worried."

"Hp I'm in Yank's bag, so it's not scary."

"Are you tired? Stay home, yeah."

Ayanda just smiled and shook her head indicating she was okay.

"Yes we have eaten yuk, you have not eaten yet" Rion asked and answered with a nod of the head by Ayanda.

In Room.

Rion was done cleaning her body and so was Ayanda. They're on top of the bed now.

"Darling, you're at home and don't work anymore. I can't bear to see you exhausted like that" he said, stroking his wife's hair.

Ayanda just smiled and hugged her husband tightly and slid her face into Rion's chest.

"The work is done."

Ayanda just shook her head still in position hugging Rion and leaning against her chest.

Rion only took a deep breath, because he knew the character of an Ayanda was hard. No one can change his decision.

"What's the matter, honey?" rion asked, because it felt strange and happy because without being asked his wife was very tightly hugging him as if she did not want to escape.

"There's nothing, dear. Can't I go like this?" asked back Ayanda who was still tightly hugging Rion's body, her husband returned his wife's embrace and repeatedly kissed her head.

"So dear, I'm very, very happy" he replied.

God, I know my brain and my heart don't match. My brain still vividly remembers her past crimes, but my heart melts when she treats me so kindly and compassionately. If I may be greedy lock her heart for me and make me the only one for her. Honestly, I'm afraid of God, I'm afraid he goes back to his past and leaves me like he used to. I was still afraid to open my heart to her. Help me God to convince my heart, is he really right for me? And I was the only one for him?

Ayanda's heart murmured in Rion's arms. Because what he really feels is not tired of work but tired of the thoughts of his past is very bitter, which is now wandering in his head. Moreover Ayanda saw with her own eyes that she had returned.
