(at Michikatsu position)
“For the last time, we didn't kill your father.” Michikatsu stated when he tried to explain to the blond teenager that he and Yoriichi were nothing like the rumors going around. For the last few hours he's been trying to convince her that it wasn't him or his sister who killed his father. "If I want you or your father dead, I will kill you before you even leave your house. It was the empire that wanted you and your father dead." Michikatsu said to the blonde who finally seemed to accept that it was actually not the fault of the masked teenager that his father died.
"I know." He avoided the eyes of the Samurai. "It's just that Dad was always there for me and helped me achieve my goals. He gave me Imperial Fist training when I was young. I don't think I can accept that." He said while wiping some tears from his eyes. “She can't even see me getting married the way she wants. I just never thought that the Empire would leave my father after all he did for it.” He added while laughing full of sadness. Michikatsu is just watching, he's never the best at entertaining people.
"I lost my father and mother when my brother and I were ten years old. Damn it." Michikatsu said coldly. Spear looked at Michikatsu who turned away from him and headed for the door. He said while going to see his sister to discuss what was happening in their respective environment.
"So, how's it going, brother?" Yoriichi said as he sat on one of the chairs in the room they had set aside to discuss the matter without any outside interference. The only person other than those allowed to enter was the Ruler of the Way of Peace. At this time Yoriichi's mask lay on the table next to him.
"He finally realized that it wasn't us who killed his parents. It seemed like he was denying the fact that the kingdom he loved so much had betrayed his family. When did the man come to pick her up?" Michikatsu asked his sister who looked at him confusedly.
"He never said anything about coming to pick her up. He's our responsibility." Yoriichi said to his older brother who scowled at his statement. Yoriichi could only grin as he added more on the previous statement. "Given that I was training Sayo and had to look after that Night Raid girl while she recovered. In other words..." Yoriichi said as he stood a pat on his brother's shoulder. "...he's yours to take care of." Yoriichi said before laughing looking at her brother's face.
"I've got more important things to do than take care of a girl." Michikatsu said to his laughing sister.
"Sorry brother, but I can't monopolize all the girls. Hey, maybe it's this girl who can finally find some kind of emotion in you." Yoriichi said while looking at the clock hanging on the wall, "Now excuse me, I have to go to work. I'll leave Sayo to Sheele, you keep seeing Spear." It was the last thing he said before disappearing in the middle of the fire vortex. The wrinkle never disappeared from Michikatsu's face as he walked back to where Spear was.
“It turns out you will probably stay here longer than I thought.” he said before picking up his spear and throwing it at him. Spear's eyes widened as his weapon hit the wall behind him, missing from his face by less than an inch. “If I have to keep an eye on you, you better protect yourself. Go to the page in five minutes, I will teach you some basic moves of fighting.”
"I already know how to fight." He's arguing. He felt humiliated because this man thought he needed his training. He had trained for many years under the supervision of his teacher in the Imperial Fist arts and although he was not the best disciple, he was better than most other disciples. It was one of the rewards his father gave him when he let him practice fighting.
"Yet your face was almost flayed by those weak men. It would be a stain on my reputation as a brat who was placed under my protection and perished in the hands of a pathetic guard." Michikatsu said as he walked away leaving Spear looking at his backward back.
He wants to scream. He just wanted to yell at her that she was wrong and she was not weak. But deep down he knew he was right. He was completely overwhelmed with the group of soldiers sent to kill him and he would have died if not for his timely arrival. He didn't even want to imagine what would happen to him. His hand rose to his cheek where his wound had healed since the guards started skinning him. He owes his life to her.
(At the Cafe)
Yoriichi sat on the chair while waiting for anyone to come in and talk to him. It had been several hours since he opened the Cafe for the night and so far most of the people who entered were low-ranking guards or people who just wanted to waste time. 'I hope Leone or Lubbock will come in. or anyone!' He thought to himself before he heard the door open. His jaw almost touched the ground on the person who entered. In her mind, she easily became one of the most beautiful women in the world.
She was a tall white woman with a slim figure and long light blue hair as well as blue eyes. He wore the General's long-sleeved clothes, a blue scarf around his neck, and high-heeled boots. He also had a strange tattoo on his chest that caused a cold feeling.
"That's General Esdeath!" One of the guards who was not drunk shouted.
"What is he doing here!?"
Yoriichi raised his eyebrows hearing him. He had heard some rumors about the woman from the general public. Many referred to him as the strongest in the empire and gave some commentary on his personality. Apparently he was supposed to be in the North to finish the rebellion.
The woman said right in front of him and smiled, "May I order your best sake?" He asked her. Yoriichi nodded and went into the back room for a few seconds before walking back while holding sake. Yoriichi handed the bottle to the woman. "It's a rare branded sake. How did you get it?" He asked her.
"so. So I think you're the owner?" He asked her. He was obviously a little suspicious of her.
"No, my uncle has it. I just run the place while he's out of town." Yoriichi said as he poured himself a cup of water. The woman stared at him for a few seconds before seemingly receiving her answer.
'While he hid it well, I knew from the way he walked and the structure of his body. He's a trained fighter.' He thought while grinning inside. No matter how well one hid his strength, he could tell, he was strong or had a lot of untapped potential. He originally came to this bar because he heard how the bartender easily subdued one of the most feared soldiers in the House of Representatives building at the time with only his bare hands and the bar was selling liquor high class at a very low price. “So where is your family from? I heard this bar is relatively new.” He urged me to ask for a little information.
Yoriichi smiled to convey the guise, "My brother and I are from the coast. We went here because our parents used to be here for business. We were wondering for a while before we got here. My uncle used to come home to check on some of the people who lived." Yoriichi lied. Esdeath nodded at his answer.
"So, was there anyone who stayed with you as long as your uncle left?" The general kept asking questions. Yoriichi showed a very good performance but he was not a general for no reason. He has been training for years since he was young to discover his father's lies or disguises and then military experience.
The smile on Yoriichi's face never disappeared as he answered the question. "No. Most of us split up from the start and went about our own business. I live with my Uncle from my best friend because even though he is a very strong person, he fell ill a few years ago. He insisted that I stay in the Empire and run the cafe though." Yoriichi laughs. The one thing he didn't lie about was his powerful best friend's uncle. But he had to admit that the woman made the night fun for him.
“He sounds like a very respectable man. I'm sure he trains you if you praise him as high as you.” He said to Yoriichi who was drinking the water. He noticed a slight pause in his drink.
"Yes, he did." Yoriichi answered
"So, if you are interested in these two days, I will hold a competition where the winner gets a unique prize from the Empire. By the way, how much does it cost?" He asked while holding the bottle.
"For a beautiful woman like you, it's free." Yoriichi said with a smile. He didn't lie when he said he was beautiful. He could not deny that he was amazing in his eyes. Esdeath looked a little surprised considering the price of the bottle that was usually sold but nodded.
"Thank you then. I think it's a farewell for now" he said with a small smile before he stood up and walked towards the door of the Cafe. Many guards from the empire watched the entire scene with their jaws and made good friends with the floor.
"Hi!" Yoriichi shouted to the general. Esdeath turned around to see Naruto actually smiling at him this time. “I hope we meet again, Esdeath.” Esdeath could only blush in embarrassment at Yoriichi's smile. His smiling face looked so pure. This is his real smile.
As soon as he left, Yoriichi's smile faded slightly. He could feel a powerful force within him. It was the highest amount of strength he had encountered so far in this Empire. Even though it was not close to his level or his Brother's.it was still very big for someone in this Empire. He also doubted that he was at least unable to reach his level. I can't wait to see what happens in the future.
(The Esdeath Acquisition)
The blue haired woman grinned as she raised her bottle, 'Yoriichi Tsugikuni, I wonder if you can win.' she said slightly blushed. ‘You have met all the requirements. Even without seeing you fight, I know you have the potential to become a general, you did not waver when I entered even with my reputation, you did not grow up near the capital, even though you are the same age as me, and lastly you have a pure smile. All that's left is to see if you can really fight.' He said as he stared at the full moon hanging in the sky.
(Yoriichi Acquisition)
He decided to close the cafe early and evict everyone a few hours after Esdeath left. Before he left, he changed into Taiyo clothes and exited through a secret exit that led from his Cafe back room to the empty basement of the house where he lived.
He wasted no time as he slid onto the roof. Yoriichi sighed while lying in the moonlight. The full moon tonight and in rare instances, one can see a large number of stars while in the city.
"Beautiful night" he said before jumping aside to avoid the sneak attack of a long, red-eyed black-haired girl. Yoriichi smiled as he landed and felt two more lands nearby. "Great now what?.Night Raid?"
