The Underwater Palace
Karin Disappears

The sound of a bang from above the sky, the blackish-grey cotton balls began to docked to form the altocumulus, the whirring of the wind dropped the leaves the longer the blow was getting louder. From the sky slowly falling water droplets, the melancholic atmosphere and the aroma of plants and soil touched by rain was very pronounced.

Worry and worry enveloped our tent because Karin never came.

“Where is this possible Karin in another tent?” my many.

“Hopefully so,” says Jasmin.

“Didn't you see where he was running?” ask Nia.

“I didn't see Karin suddenly walk first, I guess she went straight to the tent,” I said.

“Badahat we are just a straight path do not turn anywhere, yes Karin lost?” jasmin.

“Do we report the committee only?” nia Proposal.

“Ya. We go to the committee tent only.”

The three of us also walked towards the tent of the committee by using our jackets as head coverings.

“Kak,” said Nia in front of the tent.

“You guys why rain-rain?”

“Kak. Karin did not return to the tent now heavy rain how is this?” my spoken.

“Last time where are you?”

“We all played in the lake there, then there was another committee reprimanding us and Karin was annoyed he went ahead of us. We thought that he was already in the tent turned out he did not exist,” said Jasmin.

“Yes you have just entered your tent, let us look for it, this forest is not spacious so it is quite easy to shrill,” he said.

“Good Brother thank you.”

We rushed to the tent because the jacket we were wearing was wet. We sat down because of the cold.

“We pray that Karin will be fine,”.

An hour passed, the cloudy sky slowly whitened the gray bias of the water circle began to turn into a small speck of the hour had shown at 17:50 but there was no good news about Karin.

The three of us started out the tent taking out our flashlights. There were people with panicked faces approaching us.

“Where have your friends returned to the tent?”

“Not Kak, are we looking together?” nia Usuk.

“Yes you've come with me, we'll find him. You guys should not be separated, yes,” he said.

“Good Brother,” we say simultaneously.

The sky turned dark, and the moon began to show its existence.

“Karin! Karin!” we shouted loudly.

We keep trying to find him, the committee was overwhelmed.

“Any where he went, even though this forest is not wide,” he said.

“What we try to find in the lake,” said Jasmin.

“Well you were right, who knew Karin was there,”.

“Where are you?” my many.

“Ya we've been looking there, but we hold each other's hands lest anyone miss.”

“What happened to the lake? Until we are banned from playing there?”

“Lake is dangerous, there are many waiters who like to disturb.”

Hearing that saying, my hair immediately stood up, I felt like someone was watching us. My eyes were on alert until we reached the lake.

“Karin? Karin,” I shouted.

“Karin?”

We aimed the flashlights at different angles but didn't see anyone there.

“It looks like he is not here, we should go back to the tent area,” said the committee.

“Kak ... I-that's what?” Jasmin pointed his flashlight at a tree.

“Do not see! Don't let go of your handles!” said it.

There was a giggling sound on top of the tree, Jasmin tried to take off her grip but I held her back.

“Jasmin don't! We must stay together!” my spoken.

“I'm afraid Yes,” Jasmin sobbed while walking.

“Have missed! Keep going don't look anywhere!”

We walked and continued to join together tightly until we reached the outer area of the camp, where all the students had gathered.

Jasmin still continued to cry Nia tried to calm her down.

“Jasmin we have until you do not cry anymore,” said Nia.

Until I remembered the HP I was holding, I tried to call Karin's number, even though it was in the forest for the signal was still very strong because it was in the city.

According to the information I know this forest is managed specifically for camping activities and recreation even around the forest of many people's homes.

I tried to call Karin's number and connect.

“Hello Karin. Karin where are you?” my spoken.

“Karin? Hello Karin!”

“Kok has no voice,”.

I tried to call again but the number was no longer active.

“Where? Where is he?” ask Nia.

I shook my head, “ No sound, I tried calling again even inactive,” I said.

A teacher and two organizers finally found Karin, and drove her to the tent the three of us rushed to follow the committee to go to the tent.

Looks Karin unconscious with wet conditions.

“Tadi Karin we found sitting under a tree beside this tent,” said the committee.

“Iya right, when we came he instead shouted and immediately fainted.”

“Any. We have been looking for him at all,” said Nia.

“But why does Karin pale so much?” my many.

“Maybe because of the cold. You guys help me change clothes Karin ya.”

“Good Bu.”

We went in and closed the tent, we replaced the wet clothes Karin, there was a little bit of other weirdness to Karin. His body was filled with something as sticky as mucus.

I took Jasmin's towel and wet tissue to clean Karin's body.

“Thank God he can come back, it looks like Mom will come in your tent is okay, right?”

“Nothing Ma'am. This tent section is quite spacious,” said Nia.

When replacing clothes, Karin's body felt very cold we also tried to cover her with a cloth sarong and blanket owned by Nia.

We all chose to stay in the tent to accompany Karin, we did not follow the activities of other students outside the camp area. Until the night got late we all started to fall asleep including the teacher who was none other than the homeroom teacher me and Nia.

As I fell asleep I heard the screams of a woman, my eyes opened as the screams became clearer.

Not only did I hear the sound of a heart-wrenching cry, I grabbed a flashlight and tried to get out of the tent and look for the source of the sound.

Apparently the sound came from behind the tent, from a distance I saw a group of men who were hating a woman.

The woman screamed hysterically and asked for help, I myself did not dare to approach. They're hating him take turns.

At that time the activities of the students were still ongoing, even the sound of their happy cheers some of the organizers were also still seen standing guard at each other's fines.

I was surprised when the woman's screams were so loud, but they didn't hear it.

'Am I having a hallucination?' muttered.

I kept watching them, until one of them pulled a machete out of his bag. He casually slit the woman's throat until it broke.

Seeing that my feet were trembling and limp, I screamed and cried but I did not dare to approach.

Not until there, they alternately mutilated the woman. They began to cut off his arms, legs and stomach and even his stomach contents came out.

It made me nauseous I ran into the tent and tried to wake the others up. As I entered I saw Karin sitting with a blank look, she slowly turned her head towards me.

“Ka-karin you why?” my many.

He kept looking at me with his eyes looking scary, quickly he stood up and walked up to me.

His hand slipped into my neck and he choked me.

“Aaaakkkkkh!”

“Karin! Karin!” I tried to let go of Karin's hand.

I was out of breath, I kept trying to get Karin to let go of her giggles.

I vaguely heard some people calling my name and Karin. Without a second thought I pulled Karin's hair and she let go of her giggling.

I suddenly woke up.

“Astagfirullah! Thank goodness it's just a dream,” I said.

I looked towards Karin, apparently she was also awake.

“Today are you all right?” my many.

The teacher who was sleeping next to me also woke up to hear my voice loud enough.
