The Underwater Palace

The Underwater Palace
Treaty

“I where?” my spoken.

Suddenly I was in a forest with a quiet stream, I peeked behind the trees.

I saw a man standing by the river with a white crocodile in front of him. The man was like a man from a native tribe of Borneo seen from the clothes he was wearing.

I saw it as if I was talking to the crocodile using the language of the region. I ventured to get close because I was curious about what he was doing.

As I got closer I could clearly hear what he was saying.

“Thank you for helping one of my people. I will promise to protect your children and forbid my entire nation from disturbing or harming humans.”

'Can crocodiles talk? Am I hallucinating?' my inner.

“Alright then I will also forbid my grandchildren to disturb or hurt your nation.”

“We will coexist without hurting each other,” the man continued.

“But if anyone is negligent, then my people do not hesitate to retaliate, and vice versa if any of my people violate this rule then you can punish him,” said the crocodile.

“We won't hurt humans as long as humans don't hurt us.”.

'What does this mean by the prince about the covenant?' muttered.

I saw the white crocodile change shape like a human wearing nice clothes like royal clothes. There was a golden crown adorning his head. But a few seconds later he changed again to his original form.

‘Is he a king?' my inner.

I slowly moved away from that place, confused as to where everything looked the same, a wilderness with lush trees lined up on each side.

The sounds of wild animals kept me on my guard, I kept walking straight without knowing the direction. I circled the forest long enough to make me desperate.

“You know now?” Atmajaya suddenly appeared in front of me.

I breathed a sigh of relief, “Alhamdulillah. Good thing you came,” I said.

“What was I looking at?” I asked Atmajaya.

“That is our agreement between humans. Because that one favor is what made this agreement.”

“But unfortunately now many have forgotten our existence. Even hardly care.”

“But I don't,”.

“You are only one of a hundred children on this island who remember and know our whereabouts,” he said.

“Even many of them forget the tradition,”.

“Yes ... How else is the age getting more modern now. Even the river that was once wide and clean is now narrowed and a lot of garbage,”.

“Ya you just wake up.”

“Build?”

Suddenly I saw the white light getting closer and closer as the glare blurred my eyes, I closed my eyes and opened them again.

When I opened my eyes I found my body lying on the bed. From the sidelines of the wall of the board in my room, the sunlight began to enter.

I got up from my bed and took a towel to take a shower. After bathing and changing clothes, I say goodbye to my brother to go to work.

“Bah Aya go first,” I said while kissing the back of your hand.

“Iya be careful,” sahut abah.

I took my bike to work, some other employees came first.

“Aya, are you in today? Didn't you yesterday permission to seek treatment?” denny asked the pastry chief at the bakery.

“I've recovered sir,”.

“Thank you then, because Briyan was confused to face a booming buyer,” he said.

If I used to call Briyantara it was Iyan but not the case in this store. He is usually called Briyan and some even call him Lesmana.

I put on my brown apron and brown hat, then cleaned the counter and rearranged it until it was ready to welcome customers.

Mama Laras's bakery is quite large and crowded visitors no wonder I have to stand long enough to serve payment.

Until the time the store opened, the close sign on the fox became open we were all ready in their respective positions.

The smell of bread just coming out of the grill was rippling throughout the room, I could even smell various scents ranging from the aroma of chocolate, coffee, cheese and others.

No need to smell the room anymore because when customers enter the sense of smell they will be drugged with the smell of bread.

Some customers started arriving and picked up the tray as well as the available clamps.

I'm getting used to this kind of atmosphere, and it makes me even more excited.

I also thought that one day I would study and want to become a pastry chief like Mr. Denny.
