Elissa threw another vase on the floor. He rebuked by putting a hand on his waist. "How dare you argue with me! You're divorced now because I didn't stop you from marrying that loser Jack!"

"As your mother, I'm trying to find you a partner with all the connections I have, and you don't want to go? Aren't you ashamed?"

Meanwhile Sitting on the sofa, Kieran sighed.

"Dad!"

Katherine looked at Kieran in despair. "Can you help me persuade mom?"

"Don't you dare!" Elissa screeched with a stern face.

Out of pity for her daughter, Kieran finally scolded, "I also feel that the man is no match for Katherine. He's in his forties, almost nearing our age."

"Continue?"

Elissa said with a grim face, "A man in his forties is very attractive. And he's very rich. Katherine is now divorced. You still want to find him a hotshot man?

Do you think any whiz would be interested in a "former" woman"?

Katherine was stunned by her mother's words. Then he looked at Elissa in disbelief.

She never expected her birth mother to call her a "former" woman".

"Mom.." Katherine was choked by tears.

"Shut up!"

Elissa roared, "That's because you married Jack's loser so you can't now help financially with your brother's wedding!"

"Every mother loves her child. But the point is, our pay is not enough to cover Tommy's wedding dowry. You should do your part as a big brother, right? Or do you want to see your father and I die with no descendants?

Katherine's stunned. She bit her lips, not knowing what to answer.

Kieran then joins Elissa to persuade Katherine.

"Listen to your mother, Katherine. Don't you care about your family anymore after marrying Jack? Tommy is your brother"

"But the man we wanted me to date was the head of Jack's company! He's Jack's boss!" This is his last chance.

He was only in his twenties. He would never want to go on a blind date with a man in his forties.

And he just got divorced.

"So?" With her hands on her waist resting against her waist, Elissa sneered mockingly. "The loser played Parry's family and divorced you shamelessly. Well, now is your chance to pay him back by marrying his boss and that also humiliates him!"

Those words were extremely cruel, filled with sarcasm.

"You're too far, Mom!" Katherine finally lost her patience.

Just then, Tommy returned.

"All right! Tommy, send your sister over there with your Audi A4 tonight. That guy's rich. We cannot lose face. If this works, then we can ask for more dowry" said Elissa excitedly.

She meets Dr. Hale and another doctor who just saw her mother in the ward.

Dr. Hale asked his colleagues to leave first after seeing Jack. She greeted him quickly and said with a smile, "You prepare food for your mother every day. You were diligent and did well in taking good care of your mother, Mr. Hughes."

Jack said with a smile, "Is my mom okay, Dr. Hale?"

"Your mother is recovering well, and she could be out in a few days. But there is a risk of rejection after a liver transplant. It can last from six months to a year. If he could get through this period, he would eventually recover"

He kindly handed a small piece of apple to Jack's mother while talking.

Jack, with a cold gaze, glanced at the flask in the closet beside the bed.

"Md. Lynn is a very nice person, Jack," said Sophie Burton, her mother, "Where is Katherine?"

Not long after waking up from surgery, Sophie sounded tired and weak. And even his face looked pale.

Jack's heart sank. He can't be surprised.

So she didn't tell him that she had divorced after he woke up. He was planning to wait until his mother recovered.

But Jack did not immediately reply and looked at Shirley coldly.

Shirley has just become the daughter-in-law of the Parry family. He could go to the hospital to see his mother. What else can Jack say?

Shirley seemed to know what Jack was thinking. He smiled and shook his head

Jack was relieved, then explained with a smile.

"Mom, Katherine's been so busy lately and can't leave work. You will be able to see him after you leave the hospital:
