The Winner Takes Everything

The Winner Takes Everything
A Black Goat

In the morning, Shirley woke up heavily intoxicated, Left alone in the room, she felt extremely humiliated.

A note on the table caught his attention.

"You must have practiced yoga 🤭"

Even though Jack was long gone, he could still feel the ridicule from the note.

He scratched his head agitatedly, finding no place to vent his anger.

For all the complicated emotions, he felt not too frustrated as if he had been forgiven at least because he left a message.

At the same time, he receives a call from Tommy.

"Shirley, I was so dominant last night. I got 10 MVPs in the game!"

Tommy spoke excitedly while Shirley became angry.

He could only think of that shabby game!

He went berserk, "Tommy, you're not a kid, are you? Have you prepared my dowry? Do you really want to marry me?"

After a few seconds of silence, he immediately comforted her, "Honey, come on. My family has put in a lot of effort and we just ended up like this because of Jack, that useless bastard. I'll marry you only "

"Jack?"

The guy I dated last night was named Jack too!

He instinctively asked, "Who is Jack? Is he a rich man?"

"Rich my ass!"

Tommy started complaining, "He's my useless brother-in-law from the countryside. Katherine had no choice but to stay with him in the rented apartment. Things would be better in many ways if he was rich"

Shirley shook her head while thinking that Tommy did not sound like a person who had a bauhinia bank card.

"Shirley, give me a little more time. My parents and Katherine will soon have enough money."

Tommy complained again angrily, "If it wasn't for that useless brother-in-law, it wasn't. I have to say, ex-in-law, we would be able to hold our wedding ceremony now."

"What does this have to do with him?" Shirley could not understand

"Since she married Katherine, she has been my sister-in-law. As his brother, I am getting married. Shouldn't he be helping me? Instead, he was simply wasting time and money on his mother who was dying of end-stage liver cancer. And he divorced Katherine. What a useless bastard!" continued Tommy.

Shirley awkwardly hesitated as she wanted to continue. He felt a bit uncomfortable.

He replied impatiently, "Good. I'm gonna go to bed. Good night." Then, he hung up the phone.

The following week, Jack was busy looking after his bedridden mother.

After the liver transplant, her mother got better.

As the doctor said, he could go home soon after a few days.

As for the matter regarding Shirley, she did not waste any time worrying about her at all.

If Tommy had not insinuated and disrespected him, he would not have embarrassed Shirley that night.

Early in the morning, after taking care of his mother all night, Jack received a call as he was on his way home.

"Jack, where are you now?" A sharp male voice bombarded his ears as he answered the call.

Jack frowned a little. That's Ben, his boss as general manager of real estate agent DT.

"Is he dead? If he's alive, bring yourself back here to work!" Ben yelled, "Damn it! When you were on leave, I was the one who saved you. Go back to the office to clean up your problems right now!"

Suddenly, the call was interrupted.

"Save my ass? Who saved who?" Jack chuckles.

He's completely useless. In fact, he always got good grades in school. If she is not hindered by her family situation, she can fully continue her studies abroad as a recommended student.

After graduation, she chose to work at a local real estate agent, and within three years she was promoted to deputy general manager.

Because of Ben, Jack is stuck in his current position after three years of hard work at the agency.

The reason, boss Ben was also her brother's husband

He had been in the position of general manager for many years even if he could barely afford to do anything other than tease women and bully the female staff in the company.

Actually Jack has handled all the important affairs in the agency over the years.

He has solved many of the problems that have resulted from Ben.

Interestingly, Ben's boss seems to have absolute confidence in his "ability"

So Jack is known as the "fault-taker" in the company.

She did not leave because she needed her salary to heal her mother and support Katherine's family.

But it was nearing its last straw.

He took out a Bauhinia bank card as if he was being comforted.

He chuckled coldly, There's a billion yuan in it.

Although I hate financial compensation, I cannot deny that money really works. It has given me more power and choice in life.

Jack hurriedly heads to Ben at the agency.

Bang out!

After a loud slam, Ben sat in his chair and sat down on the table sucking on a cigar with a worried and anxious face.

Jack frowned slightly due to the smell of tobacco. He never smoked and he was fed up with it.

"If I hadn't called you, you might never have come back here. Am I right?" Ben spat out a puff of smoke with a cold smile as he touched his bald head.

"That's not true. I'm just too busy taking care of my mom" Jack replied.

Ben was just over forty years old, but he seemed exhausted from addiction ****. He already had a bald head despite his middle age. That's why he's nicknamed "Old Master Hall"

“HAHAHA!”

Ben narrowed his eyes while sneering, "Jack, let me give you some advice because I'm older here. Your mother has a serious illness. I also know your mother's condition. Rather than letting him suffer for no reason, you should just let him go to heaven. That way, you can also invest more time and energy in your work"

An annoyed and hostile look flashed across Jack's eyes as he tried to swallow his anger, "Why did you suddenly call me here? What's going on?"

With a loud slam, Ben slammed a document on the table.

“Ipar I Aiden, my boss at the company, will come this afternoon to check the West Shanty City renovation contract that you should have negotiated with the contractor. Damnit. I'm forced to do that because you're on leave. It's your fault!" snarl Ben hard.

"Because you're not here, I signed this contract at an exorbitant cost after they tricked me into taking me to a nightclub and getting me drunk"

Jack already knew Ben's habits, so he didn't have to bother to glance at the contract because it wasn't the first time Ben had done something similar.
