The World Of The Venerate: Cursed Exorcist
Chapter 2 - The mysterious golden statue

“Maybe I'm just too exhausted,” said Gudov.

“Perhaps it could be said that. I'm grateful you didn't experience spiritual distress.”.

“Mr Yermo, where have you been before? Why is it that when I came you were long at all invisible here?” Gudov asked, about the whereabouts of the man before.

Hearing the question, the man named Yermo immediately put on a surprised expression.

“I... Eh, the.” Yermo said with a stammer.

Seeing the man's stammering demeanor as he spoke, Gudov became suspicious.

“You seem to be hiding something.. Tell me, what you actually did when you were not in this place before,” asked Gudov with a curious look, feeling suspicious that the man was conveying something.

“Alright... I was out because I was in town,” replied Yermo.

“What are you doing there?” Ask Gudov again.

“Why are you like a detective?”

“Haah.. It turns out that you are curious... I went to town to buy something.” Yermo was forced to answer why he had gone to the city before.

“You're still curious too? This is what I bought there.” Yermo took a box out of his pocket.

Gudov was immediately surprised not to think that the contents of the box package was a cigarette.

Yermo took one stick from the box and blamed the cigarette using a match he took from his pocket as well.

“Yermo Balanouski, how dare you do such a thing in this holy place,” said Gudov, scolding the man for casually smoking inside the holy place.

“This should not be allowed, at least get out of here.” Gudov also directly encourage Yermo to get out of the room.

“Hey boy, what are you doing? How dare you kick me out, even though I am the person in charge of this place.”

“No excuses, even if you are the person in charge of this place, but I also have an obligation to protect this place.” Gudov did not care about the man's words and continued to push him out of the room first.

After arriving outside the two of them then briefly talked about something.

“At least you should pray for protection from the god before going to bed,” Yermo said.

“I always do it every night,” Gudov then comment on Yermo's remarks because it always does.

“Hmph. Is it possible that the god did not want to listen to your prayers because he always was rude to adults,” said Yermo, a little joking with his words.

“Heh, please.. I want to go home first. Thanks for helping me.” Not wanting to pry the word from the man, Gudov also prefers to move back to his home.

As the teenager walked away, Yermo looked at her with a worried expression.

“Creature in the form of a bird well. It seems he has started to show himself to you,” muttered Yermo knowing something about the dream experienced by Gudov.

“If you know who you really are, chances are your destiny will change son.”

The man seemed to know something related to Gudov, but he did not say it because it seemed to wait for Gudov to find out for himself.

–31 January 3000–

The next day, Gudov woke up fit in a beautiful morning with fresh air.

Not wanting to take too much dizziness, Gudov was finally relieved because it did not happen again.

He got out of his bed and came out of his room to prepare to go somewhere.

Like most children, Gudov was actually one of the school students, only in the days before the school students were on winter break.

Unlike the other children during the holidays, Gudov filled his vacation time by helping his father work.

She is a first-year high school student, and has been in even years after the winter break.

“Hey...” Call Gudov when you see his friends who are heading to school.

“Gudov... How was your holiday?” Ask one of his friends.

“Iya, as always..” Gudov replied, not explaining at length because his friends already knew that he was helping his father during the holidays.

“Oh well, there is something I want to show you what we found while fishing in the Mura river yesterday,” said his friend.

“Hah? What is it?” Ask Gudov, curious.

“Wait a minute until later.”

“Basic you.. Always make me curious.” But his friend instead makes Gudov more curious because they have to wait until they get to school first.

After a while, Gudov and his friends finally arrived at school, and then went to a slightly quiet place.

Before lesson time began, one of his friends took out an object wrapped in cloth from the bag underneath.

Gudov was immediately surprised when his friend opened the cloth and showed a golden statue in the shape of a man who stood upright with a height of about twenty centimeters.

“How did you guys get it?” Gudov asked, becoming more curious the first time they got the golden statue.

One of his friends explained that yesterday they went fishing in a river on the outskirts of the city, suddenly they saw an object floating.

Curiously they work together to take the floating object without having to go down directly into the river water.

After getting the object, all his friends were surprised because the object they found was a statue made of gold.

However, what makes them even more surprised and curious at the same time is why the statue can float on the surface of the water, which even though it weighs about three kilograms, which is why the statue can float on the water, which makes it very possible to drown.

Gudov took the object and observed it in more detail. He then felt that the style and appearance of the adult man-shaped golden statue did not resemble those of the people in their country.

“Eh...” Suddenly Gudov realized that the appearance of the statue resembles the appearance of the residents who are in the opposite country, precisely the country across the river where his friends fish.

“You were fishing yesterday in the Mura river right.. The possibility of this thing drifting from the other country?” Gudov said, telling his friends what he knows.

Then the friends immediately agreed with the teenager because they saw the style of dress of the golden statue.

“This statue must be submitted to the person in charge,” said Gudov.

“For whom should we hand it over to?” Ask one of Gudov's friends for not knowing about the party who would be responsible if they handed the object over.
