Not hearing all Diego's stories, Ali immediately carried him into the bathroom.
"Take me off!"
Diego's father saw the scene, and asked. "Ali, what are you doing?"
"It's okay, uncle. We just need to push it a little. Trust Diego to me and come back to make something to drink. I'm so thirsty." Ali showed me a row of white teeth. Lousy.
"Whatever, maybe you're right." He turned around, "would you be hot or cold?"
"Just as for uncle." Ali continued his journey.
"Let go!"
"No way, I came early in the morning to force you to go to school. This is not a negotiation!" Once they get to the bathroom, "take your clothes off!"
Diego flinching.
"Take off your shirt, your father won't see you. I promise."
The boy was still unmoved, not responding to Ali's words.
Unpatiently, Ali ripped Diego's shirt off like paper. It was easy for Ali.
"It must be sick." Ali said he saw so many bruises on Diego's body. "
“I don't want to go to that hell! Don't you understand?” he said desperate.
“I understand. I-i know. I was also once in a helpless condition like you. That's why, you have to fight it.”
“You want me to get beaten up even worse?” almost crying Diego said it. “Do not pretend to know my problem. Even you don't know the weight of remembering all the things!”
“I don't know anything. But you have to go to school.” Ali clasped Diego's hand, full of warmth. “believe me, I will help you my way. As long as you believe, your day will be lighter. Now take a shower and put on your school clothes. For your shirt,” Ali glanced at a shirt tear, “I will replace it with a nicer one.”
Diego wore his school uniform neatly, but felt squeezed by the anxious feelings that filled his heart. Each step was heavy as he entered the school gate, and it was as if the cold, desolate morning air was adding to the frost inside. A gust of wind pierced his body, sending out small tremors that gave him goosebumps.
"What's wrong? Coming in!" Said Ali.
"Can we get out of here?" Diego's reply was shaking.
Ali looked at him, "can't. You have to go to school, get as much knowledge and make a lot of friends."
Diego gulps.
"Wait what else, let's go in. Do I need to carry you again?"
Diego creeped, reluctantly starting to step in.
Looking around, Diego tried to find a safe gap among the crowd of students who passed by boisterously. Foreign and familiar faces were running around before his eyes, while the sounds of laughter and conversation merged into a frenzy that further confused him. But wherever he looked, sharp glances and ridicule seemed to haunt him, infiltrating into his heart and disturbing his thoughts.
Diego's eyes glanced around, hoping to find a friend or a sympathetic one, but it seemed that everything was busy with each other's affairs. He felt like a neglected tree of loneliness in the middle of the forest. Diego's heart crumpled, and his desire to escape grew stronger.
With a heavy heart, Diego stepped forward towards the crowded school hallway. The sound of his footsteps seemed to be drowning in the surrounding noise. He tried to keep his head upright, but deep down he was devastated by such great social pressure.
"You're back, Diego? From anywhere? We're lonely."
"Finally my purse will be safe now."
"Hey, cupu! Don't you dare ditch me again, we're in trouble because of you."
"Don't talk like that" someone grabbed Diego all of a sudden, "if he cried, his mother could come to us later that night. In the form of a ghost!" Said Bobby, quite a famous student at the school. Famous for his mischief. All the students will be reluctant to face him, and he is also responsible for all the things that Diego experienced.
Jeers and taunts began to be heard in his ears. Heart-piercing words, mocking laughs, and shame surrounded Diego like an inescapable gray cloud. His eyes looked at the floor, trying to avoid a gaze that could damage him further. Any attempt to maintain confidence and courage becomes increasingly difficult over time.
In a deep silence, Diego feels himself isolated, thrown into a dark and desolate place. His hands were sweating coldly, and his heart rate was accelerating. He struggled against the bubbling feelings of anxiety, trying to find strength within him to endure.
"You didn't forget about last week's deal, did you?" Said the boy leaving Diego.
Shortly after, the school bell rang, announcing the start of the lesson. Diego walked with a heavy heart towards his desk, taking a deep breath to calm himself down. But as he sat down, his seat was filled with scribbles that were not worth telling. Diego felt tension and anxiety increasingly filling the space around him. He felt his heart pounding hard, capturing every single look aimed at him.
When the teacher started the lesson, Diego tried to focus, but his mind kept drifting into the humiliation and torture he had been through all this time. He wanted to express his courage, but was afraid of facing even worse ridicule and violence.
The break bell should be the bell that the student is waiting for. But not for Diego, he never expected that to happen.
"Diego, get me some sandwiches!"
Diego felt his heart beat as he realized he had forgotten to carry an allowance. "Sorry, I forgot to bring money."
"What?"
Diego was dragged into the bathroom by the boy. Diego was struggling a little, but it all felt so hard. Diego had neither the strength nor the courage to break away.
In the bathroom, the atmosphere became tense. The other students gathered around Diego, issuing their mockery and reproach. Diego's facial complexion was terrified and hopeless as he battled the pain and shame he felt.
"You stupid or careless?" Bobby got angry, clenched his teeth.
Byurs.... His face was now covered by one of them.
"Have you not been in for a week, do you know how hard we feel?" Jerk Bobby.
One flush came back about Diego's face. One punch hit his body. He was in pain, endured the pain, then was beaten back, as he shouted, his head was immediately sunk into the bathtub. Only bubbles were heard, dampening Diego's screams.
His face lifted with Bobby's energy coercion.
"Listen, I only have 30 grand. Take note of it and put it into a debt you have to pay later!" Threatening Bobby, his face was filled with intimidation.
Diego grimaced, nodding.
"Hey, not fair. Us too!"
Again Diego agreed what was not his responsibility.
"Let's go to the cafeteria."
They left Diego alone. Snuggled in the corner of the bathroom. During the break, he only spent time in the cold water that was embracing his body.
“All this wouldn't have happened if Ali hadn't forced me back into this hell. I hate him!” Diego's inner self is heating up. Like all weaklings or in unfavorable circumstances, they would only look for scapegoats to blame. I don't know what for.
