General Hui's Death

By now, General Hui was already extremely exhausted. Indeed, he could not resist the power of Zhaoling or even his two shadow bodyguards. But, to carry out the duties of the Queen Mother for the safety of her family, then she also tried to fight against the power of Zhaoling which is not comparable to her strength.

Zhaoling was famous as the Dragon Claw Swordsman, he mastered various kinds of martial arts, he also had the call of the Death Devil of the battlefield.

Out of the white smoke that covered the surrounding area when Zhaoling's hand was outstretched, followed by the sound of an explosion. The smoke was quite thick, making it difficult for them to see anything that was there.

"Aaakkhh" the soldiers fell because the wind was strong enough.

General Hui tried to remove the smoke by shaking his hand but apparently the smoke was quite thick. He immediately said, "wrap your hands faster! This smoke will disappear after the air around it exhales!" tell the soldier.

They immediately flick their hands and even feet to remove the smoke that covers the surrounding area. After the smoke faded slightly, Hui did not see the whereabouts of Zhaoling and his two shadow bodyguards there. The three of them have left them.

General Hui knew that Zhaoling wouldn't hurt him. He is a good person and is good at reading things. For sure, the man had learned that there was something strange about his attitude that made Zhaoling leave their battle.

After a few minutes, the smoke disappeared completely leaving them with his confusion. In addition to the disappearance of the three cold men, the bodies of the robbers were lost from that place. It's like they were never here.

"Argh, fuck. Where are they going?" still in confusion, General Hui searched the bushes but there was none.

The loss of the bodies of the robbers made him restless. Hui, however, had to carry the body as proof that he was indeed fighting against masked robbers.

If it's like this, how would it be? The Queen Mother wouldn't believe it if there was no evidence. Surely his family will .. no .. no! Think positive, Hui.

The general shook his head repeatedly, then shouted again. "Come, let's go after it! Surely they are not far from here yet" his instructions to the troops.

They also quickly chased the masked robbers towards the direction he passed earlier, towards the mountains. However, something happened before they came out of this forest.

An impromptu attack just suddenly appeared from the opposite direction.

"Aakh," the soldiers fell down and instantly died from being hit by a poisonous arrow that shot out of nowhere.

General Hui looked around in confusion. He could not believe that his troops were killed that easily, just by an arrow attack. But, when he saw their faces that began to turn greenish, he realized that the arrow had been covered with deadly poison. Hui rushed to protect himself from the impromptu attack along with the remaining soldiers.

As they hid behind a large tree, suddenly many root tendrils snared their necks firmly. The remaining soldiers died partially.

Now, only General Hui and a few soldiers remained. They panicked and kept watching the surroundings. Afraid of another trap and making them die is ridiculous here.

"Hahaha," the laughter of some people sounded. Those in hiding peeked out from behind the tree to see who they were.

Seen, some men with face coverings like those of masked robbers. They held swords and spears and shields.

"Get out, you cowardly soldiers!" taunt them.

Humiliated, General Hui immediately came out of hiding with the few remaining soldiers.

"Yet you guys came out too" they said still in a mocking tone. "Hurry, we'll finish them off! After that, we'll get a reward from the Commander!" exclaim them with excitement.

Hearing them mention the Commander, Hui's heart trembled. It was impossible for Commander Zhaoling to order them to kill, even to give a reward as his reward. If Zhaoling wanted to kill them, from the start he would not have gone from the battle and it was very easy for Zhaoling to kill all his soldiers in one strike.

But, looking at the masks the men wore was sure that they were masked robbers and Zhaoling was definitely with them. Just now, the Commander protected them.

"Hiyaaaaat," the fight came back. They exert the remaining energy to try to paralyze or protect themselves. But it seemed, the strength of these men was really strange.

General Hui who had fought some of the robbers felt a strangeness from them. The strength of the masked men seemed to increase and their movements were different from before. Moreover, one man wearing noble clothes with familiar movements.

All the soldiers are dead. Now all that remains is General Hui alone with injuries to several parts of his body. He tried to get up and stepped slowly while saying, "who are you? I think I know you!" general Hui exclaimed with a trembling voice.

"You don't recognize me, General. Because we just met now" the man said.

General Hui smiled mockingly. He was convinced that this man was someone he knew. "My gut wouldn't be wrong. You are Prince Ke ... Ugh," before Hui continued his words, the man had thrust the spear in his hand into Hui's stomach. So that made the General kneel on the ground with blood that kept coming out of his wound.

The man grinned at her, then removed the mask worn on her face. "It seems you're pretty smart. I was thinking of letting you live and go home to the Palace. I didn't think your eyes were so observant of everyone, that you recognized me even in disguise. And then you must die."

The spear deepened, causing General Hui pain, and soon died covered in blood.

Previously, he had indeed felt that he would die in this place especially if he dared to fight Zhaoling. But apparently, the Commander ran away and left him alive. But there was another group who attacked them, so he had to die in this place without being able to go home to his family and free them from the captivity of the Queen Mother.

It is unfortunate that General Hui is unable to do anything for his family and his troops. Finally, they all died in this forest with deep feelings of sadness.

"Report the deaths of all the soldiers to the Palace. Tell me if they died fighting the masked robber, who was protected by Commander Zhaoling!" tell the man with a meaningful smile.
