For a month Daniel had not been conscious from his sleep, making his son always cry waiting for him to wake up.

The two of them did not check with the obstetrician whether the child was a girl or a boy, because Valen did not want to know it before the child was born
Valen wanted to be his own suprise, when his son was born whether female or otherwise.
