12. SIGNAL CODE

Raindrops drench Arkana's windshield. The awkward Alina simply played the wet end of her hair without saying anything. Arkana's two hands were focused on holding the steering wheel of the car but her eyes occasionally glanced at Alina.

At the red light, Arka gives Alina a tissue box. Arkana realized that Alina's hair was wet from the splash of rain. Alina smilingly received the tissue box and tried to hide the end of her hair.

"Oh yes, thank you, I'm welcome to go home" said Alina timidly.

"Yes .. the goal is the same."

Arkana refocused on driving her car through the quiet night streets. There are not many vehicles passing in the area, especially at midnight like this.

As powerful as her energy, Alina restrained her sleepiness. In addition to the hours past his sleep, the atmosphere of rain outside increasingly support his drowsiness. Occasionally pinch his hands or just open his social media on the phone.

Arkana cleared her throat and smiled a little at Alina's efforts not to fall asleep in her car. Unfortunately, the attempt failed. Alina fell asleep in an Arkana car. The journey is not long.

Suddenly Alina was startled by the sound of knocking from outside the car window. It turned out that that person was Baskara's bodyguard whose job was to guard the pavilion. The bodyguard was quite strange because Arkana's car was parked in front of the house.

Moreover, the car engine is still on. At first he thought Arkana was still inside, but the bodyguard had just met Arkana walking towards his room. Sure enough, there was someone in the car and it was Alina.

"Ngapain's inside? come out, mba" said the bodyguard.

"Yes this is out." Alina tidied up her stuff and came out.

"Liat Mas Arkana ga?" tanyakanya.

"I think it's in his room." The bodyguard went inside and turned off the engine.

Alina did not think, why could Arkana leave herself in the car alone. Along the way to her room Alina is made to run out of words by Arkana's actions. Arriving at the room, Alina immediately threw her body onto the mattress. Alina ran out of energy even to shower and change clothes.

Alina continued her sleep. The same thing with Arkana who has changed her clothes now preparing to sleep. Today is a very difficult day for Arkana. Many things remind him of his past.

Arkana saw plaster cuts attached to her shoulders and arms, along with bruised injection marks on her arms. A wound that cannot be lost, as well as a wound that is inside him. For a long time he looked at his reflection on the glass.

With the sprouting of small Arkana memories, making the adult Arkana uncomfortable so that Arka then threw his towel towards the glass and covered the glass completely. Turning off all the lights in her room, Arkana went to sleep.

This morning there was only Arkana as a member of the Miller family at home. Both of his parents stayed at the hospital to accompany Baskara. Therefore Arka woke up early to prepare her own breakfast. Especially today there is an important meeting in his office, making him have to come on time.

Alina's phone alarm sounds. Alina wakes up and has the intention to turn off her alarm and go back to sleep. But suddenly he was reminded of his intentions from last night. Alina wants to crash into Arkana, asking her why she left him in the car.

"Al ... if you wake up let's have breakfast together," call Bi Iyah from outside.

Bi Iyah took Alina to breakfast with the others in the back room. Today the Miller family is not home, so the servants can rest this morning. Hearing that Alina was a little strange, because obviously she came home with Arkana last night.

"Is anyone ready for breakfast?" ask the other waiter to worry.

"Ooh .. if there is only Mas Arka, it usually prepares its own food" replied Bi Iyah.

Their conversation continued until noon. Alina who had been pacing back and forth, occasionally joined the conversation and left again. Actually today Alina also has no special job. Baskara and Rose were both in the hospital. So there's not much for him to do.

While in his office, Arkana stared coldly at one of his staff who was giving a work report through a power point. It was obvious from the look on his face if there was something that did not suit his wishes. Satrio, who had understood this well, told the staff to end their presentation and sit down.

"After this to my room." Arkana then continued his meeting discussing other matters.

A perfectionist Arkana is unwilling if one of its employees has poor work performance. Because he thinks employees can reflect the image of a company itself.

Alina's driving around the Miller family home that was empty today. Feeling that this was the right moment, Alina started looking for something. It starts with the Miller family photo. There Alina looks to be looking for someone. The unupdated photo made Alina quite confused.

Alina had been around all day, but she still had not gotten what she was looking for. Alina returned to her room in a daze. While putting her body to sleep on the bed, Alina took out a family photo. A family consisting of a mother, father, son, and daughter.

"Wait a minute, I'll meet you." Alina stroked the photo.

Alina hugged the photo tightly, and fell asleep.

Satrio came in with a large bag of almonds. Put it on Arkana's desk busy doing her job. "It's come to pesenan lo." Satrio returned to his room after delivering his best friend's order.

Time to recharge. 

Arkana took out a few small places from inside his drawer. These are the places that Arkana takes with him everywhere. Having a habit of even having to always maintain his blood pressure, making Arkana regularly consume almonds.

It did not feel Alina fell asleep in a position to hug her family's photo from this afternoon to afternoon. "There are no gini" murmured Alina. Alina tries to call Tari, but is not picked up as much as her father. "It's people all on busy what the hell."

Alina who was bored in the room finally decided to go to the flower garden. In addition to watering it, as usual Alina intends to sit there. It seemed like from all sides of the Miller family home, the only place that made it comfortable and peaceful was this place.

Even the night came. Alina was in the back room with the other waiter preparing dinner. The plan is that Rose will go home for a while to rest. So tonight the Miller family dinner table can be used.

Along with having his attitude all over dinner, Rose calls Arkana to join her. Not to forget Rose also invited some other servants to eat together. The dinner was quite warm when Mr. Miller was not at home.

Walking slowly and emerging from behind the large hallways, Arkana brought a box of almonds with her. Lately his body feels strange because Arka needs extra almonds. Alina who saw Arkana could only look at him in silence.

Arkana sees an eye like Alina's laser pointing at her. He then gave a signal 'what?' from his body movement. Alina also replied with the same thing 'already this to the back garden'.

After dinner, Alina waited for Arkana in the chair where they used to sit. Five minutes passed, 15 minutes until after the waiting hours but Arkana did not come. "Did he pick up my code?" muttered Alina alone.

Elsewhere, Arkana was in his room doing some of the pending work.
