The large glass at the side of the room features a view of the city streets that looks full of vehicle strands. In the scorching light of the sun Hendra stood staring earlier. His heart was worried, he was confused as to how.
He should come back to Jakarta later in the afternoon and continue the journey tomorrow morning to Rahma's hometown as planned. But….
Flashback at 3 o'clock in the morning…!!!
The ringing of the phone sounded loud, disturbing the deep sleep of Hendra and also Lia. Half-conscious and with her eyes not fully open, Lia grabbed her phone on the nightstand and immediately answered the call without seeing who the caller was first.
“Hallo...” he said in a hoarse voice.
The sound of people talking while crying from a phone call. “Hallo.. Yes why deck. Speaking first, really do not while crying.” Said Lia to the man who turned out to be his sister.
There Lia's sister tried to stop her crying. “Kak... mamah brother.. mamah hiks. fell in the bathroom. hiks... mamah fainted. Now I'm the same papah again in the hospitalt.. hiks.” Obviously with occasional sobbing.
The words of the sister made the drowsiness in Lia's eye patch disappear immediately. “Continue now mamah how?” Lia quickly got up and sat down on the side of the bed.
“Mamah is still in check, I don't know how it is. Hiks..”
“Ya already, later sister try to find a ticket. If you can get my sister home today. You have to be calm, don't cry. Poor papa later added thought, if there is anything call brother. Continue later if you are aware do not forget to tell.” He said and then hung up the phone.
After that he immediately opened one of the applications on his phone to search for tickets.
“Why?” Hendra inching closer to Lia made the woman slightly jerked.
“Ha? Wake up? Sorry, I interrupted.” Her speech.
“Why?” Because he did not get an answer, Hendra asked again.
“Mamah fell in the bathroom, has been taken to the hospital, is now still handled by the Doctor. I want to take Naira home to look mamah is okay mas?” Clearly Lia with a worried look.
“I'm looking for a ticket, if I get a ticket, today I go home.” Obviously Lia again while showing what is on the screen of his phone.
Hendra did not immediately answer, there was a sense of worry in the heart if he let Lia go let alone bring Naira in a state of turmoil like this.
But if he takes Lia, then what about his promise to Rahma? What's he supposed to do?
Flashback Off :
The day is finally in sight, can't wait for tomorrow to arrive. It has been imagined how exciting and happy to be able to meet a family that has not met for a long time.
Rahma again checked one by one the items that will be brought, a sense of sadness in the heart does not reduce her happiness. “Ok is complete.” Her speech.
“Stay waiting for Hendra to return home.” In the lyrics is a clock attached to the wall. “Jam two.” Still a long time, because usually Hendra will come when Maghrib arrives. Rahma moved and intended to go downstairs.
The…!!!
The ringing of the phone sounded, making Rahma again pull her hand that was holding the door handle. “Long age.” said Rahma after seeing that it turns out Hendra was the one who called.
“Hallo mas, Assalamualaikum.”.
“Waalaikumsalam, Ra..”
“Iya, why mas?”
“Sorry..” Rahma's heart started to feel bad when Hendra started his words with an apology. “Why?”
“Sorry, I'm not going home today. Lia's mother is in a critical condition, I can't bear if she just returned home with Naira in a state of anxiety. Mas's worried. Sorry, I promise to be home early tomorrow.”
Hendra's explanation is like a bee clustered in his ear. Beedenging, noisy and make his ears hurt.
“Oke.”
No other words came out of Rahma's mouth. What if Hendra had decided not to go home today, angry? Whine? No. gabe. He wouldn't do that.
“You angry?” Ask Hendra.
“No.” It's true, Rahma wasn't angry. He's just disappointed.
“I close. Assalamualaikum.” Without waiting for an answer, Rahma hung up the phone.
In his heart Rahma asked, will Hendra really go home tomorrow? Or will there be another reason that makes him finally disappointed?
“Hopefully no other lies.” Lirih Rahma's. Somehow he doubted the reason Hendra canceled his return.
