16. Kendo Mastery

Izuna walked towards the Dojo Building, Ryo and Hajime walked behind her.

According to Hajime, Kouki told him to come to the Kendo Club after school. They will use the club room to compete with some members of the club kendo will be the match and the club leader who will be their referee.

Izuna is actually not very good at kendo, but he knows about the basics and rules of kendo.

Kendo is a Japanese martial art that uses a sword. Kendo comes from the word "ken" which means "sword", and "do" which means "road". So the meaning of kendo as a whole is a path/process of self-discipline that forms a brave and loyal samurai person. Kendo combines elements of martial arts and sports.

The students called the building a dojo. Clubs such as kendo, judo, karate, aikido, jeet kune do, ninjutsu, naginata, kodachi style two swords, wrestling, boxing, and so on do their activities here, its spaciousness is more than a gymnasium with a total of three floors.

The reason why they were competing in this place was because of Shizuku.

Shizuku is one of the members of the Kendo Club and her abilities are obvious considering her family also has a Dojo, and she has been training at her family's Dojo since childhood.

KEIKO-GI: Kendo is made of black, dark blue or white cotton. Keiko-Gi should be loose and free to make it easier to move, especially on the shoulders.

HAKAMA: this hakama is made of fabric with cotton material, serves as pants. Hakama is a traditional Japanese clothing in which there are several folds that have religious meaning for the Japanese.

Two folds behind according to Japanese myth mean the incorporation of Japan in ancient times, namely the saving of the God of War (TAKE-MIKAZUCHI-NO-KAMI) by the Sun God (FUTSU-NUSHI-NO-KAMI). KOSHI-ITA between the two folds depicts the Sun God AMATERASU-OMIKAMI. This is actually a depiction of a WA concept (alignment and harmony).

The five folds on the front side of Hakama illustrate the five principles, of which one part is a unifier. These parts have meanings: JIN (love), GI (virtue/truth), REI (courtesy), CHI (carefulness/wise), and SHIN (sincerity/seriousness).

"Yaegashi-san, right?" Izuna asked when she saw Shizuku in front of the Dojo. He felt a little strange, but he didn't think too much about it.

"Yes, I've been waiting for you." Shizuku said that while giving a smile to Izuna.

"Hmm?" Izuna tilted her head, "Do you have any business with me?"

Shizuku nodded in response, "Can we talk to ourselves for a moment?"

Izuna thought for a moment then looked at Ryo and Hajime behind her, and they just nodded at her.

"We'll go in and wait inside" Ryo said

"Y-Yes you can talk to him first" Hajime said

Izuna nodded and turned to Shizuku, "Is there a place to talk here?"

Shizuku nodded, "Yes, please follow me." she then walked towards somewhere.

Izuna nodded and followed Shizuku behind her.
