A Pair of Eclipse Swords

A Pair of Eclipse Swords
Chapter : 266 – Strategies Sung Han

"They get food from the forest in the form of meat and fruits. Drinking water and fresh fish come from the river."

Sung Han nodded accepting the report of one of his subordinate warriors. He again turned his brain to think of the most appropriate strategy in order to force Jeiji's troops out of the cage.

The first step is the surest and easiest. "Close the river with a rock. Put fifty of the best men to guard around the stone."

This order was immediately executed. Each of the commanders sent some of his best men to perform the task. Once the stone is obtained, a stone the size of a fat buffalo, moved the stone to clog the river flow far upstream.

The day after this plan was completed, the results were seen. Slow but sure the river flow began to recede and the fishes floundered out of breath on the surface of the water.

Of course this incident provoked the Jeiji people to come out to see the situation. And they were very angry to know that the river had completely receded.

A squad leader, sent twenty men to go upstream and see the situation. But until noon, even dusk and sent a second army, they never returned. Not even the second army assigned to follow did go home.

The situation of the camp on the hill was getting more tense. In just a few days, they had already lost quite a number of people. At a time like this, just one life was crucial to their survival.

Hoko Ryo, an old man from a former samurai who is now a ronin, who became the leader of this camp, since last night was unable to sleep.

He always thought, of course this was all the work of Chang's side who brought reinforcements in the form of soldiers of warriors. The proof, as long as the aid had not arrived, Chang's forces were even afraid to get close.

When it dissolved in his own mind, suddenly a bright light appeared from outside his room. Spontaneously he jumped up and took the sword. But once the door opened, it turned out that the torchbearer was none other than his own men.

"What's wrong?" snarled Hoko Ryo who was upset.

"There was a stampede" the ronin replied nervously. "Dark stampede. They–akkhh!!"

"Hey!" Ryo jumped closer. As soon as checking the drooping body, it turns out that at the base of his neck has stuck a red needle.

"Damn it!"

Ryo quickly jumped back and put up the horses. This has never happened before. There was never an enemy that could enter the rock formation let alone break through its encampment until it could touch its hut.

His sharp ears are able to hear strange sounds coming from the top of the tile. He can guess of course those who are on the tile are people with intelligence. Their steps were light and he could not hear if he did not focus.

Ryo shifted his legs to the corner of the room. Observe windows, tiles and doors alternately. His attitude has mounted horses and the right hand is on the handle of the sword, just say and slash if there is an attack.

Suddenly, from the window seemed a shadow flashing rapidly. Once inside the room, the shadow immediately turned around and threw him with three thin blades.

Ryo was surprised, then slashed. It then jumped to send a death slash to the person's neck.

But once his body floated, came two others who were ready to throw spears into his back.

Back this man was surprised to even let out a loud cry. His body turned, the wind grabbed him and the two migrants from above were slammed.

"Rotten intruder!" ryo snapped and immediately there was an inevitable battle.

The three people were subordinates of Sung Hwa and Gu Ren. Where the spear holder is Gu Ren's subordinate and the knife thrower is Sung Hwa's subordinate.

But because Ryo's swordplay is too great, plus the giant power of the grandfather, for a while not up to fifty moves they have been pushed. Then when it reached exactly one hundred moves, blood spurted once their heads were cut off.

Ignoring the corpses, Ryo jumped out and looked wide open as almost half of his camp had burned.

His men are busy putting out fires here and there. But the battle has stopped.

He slammed his feet, his face was red. "Fuck Chang! Just wait for our retaliation!"

...****************...

The five warriors looked at the fire from under the hill. Their attitude was calm, as if they felt confident they would definitely win.

From behind the darkness, in a row came three people who they knew as generals and officers of Chang's army. Sung Han only glanced for a moment before paying attention to the top of the hill.

"Backer Sung is great" commented General Khu as he looked up at the hill. "Our eyes are blind."

No one has answered that statement. Because it can be a compliment, it can also be a mockery.

"We can do this, it's a pity no one dares" said one of the officers to the right of general Khu.

"Silly!" chirp Nie Chi while chuckling. "Your forces are big. But doing this kind of thing is just not capable? Hmph, you just want to grab the win to then move up the ranks, right?"

The speech was so piercing that he thought he would soon get a curse from the soldiers. But what greeted him was the silence of the night.

"Let's go back" Sung Han said, then passed away. "Next plan."

The next morning, then the day after tomorrow, the shabby again and the day after, both Chang's army and the warriors did not make a move. The Jeiji people would assume they had disappeared from the foothills if they had not seen the magnificent Chang flag.

This causes Ryo to be confused instead of playing. But the confusion is only on the first day, the more the day, the more the confusion becomes anger.

The river had receded and he did not want to risk sending any more troops upstream. So food needs can only be obtained through the meat of forest animals or fruits and vegetables.

But the more days, the existence of the animals is less and less. Then in the next few days, all that can be found are the children of rabbits or deer. Even the eggs of the jungle chicken have been broken.

Of course it was not enough to fill the stomach of the entire army. Begin to reduce the rations of the troops who initially three times a day, to twice a day. The longer, because of this crisis, they ate once a day and were quite profitable if they got meat.

Finally, one morning, Ryo gathered the top brass and was invited to negotiate.

"Shelf!"

"It's outrageous!" Ryo's breaking the table. "If we don't attack, fear we'll starve to death!"

Another ronin nodded. "Fuckin' thick!"

"But their army is so many."

For a moment, Ryo pensively reminded of that.

"What if we hit the river at full force? No way, right, they're bringing in a lot of troops to guard the gagged river headwaters?"

The speech of one of the samurai was like a splash of cold water on his head. Ryo's face became bright and he was overjoyed. Without a second thought, the very memorable meeting reached a decision.

"We're attacking the river!"
