The white rose became the flower Thea chose to take to her mother's grave. He got the flowers at a flower shop in the middle of the road to go home.
Thea kissed the flower, the smell was so good. After decades, only this time he could smell for himself what the smell of white roses looked like. Usually he only heard the description of the fragrance from the florist.
“This flower does not have a long life and its petals wilt easily. So it can't be saved too long.” Said the florist when Thea would pay.
This store has been a subscription to Thea for the last 6 years.
“I will directly give you this flower.” Sahut Thea while kissing back fragrant flowers in her stalk.
“She will definitely be happy to receive the gift flowers from you.” Say the florist when giving change to Thea.
Thea just smiled a little. Of course he hopes that he can see the happy face of his mother because she gets beautiful flower delivery every year.
“Thank you.” Thea said as she left the flower shop.
“Wah, the flowers are very much, Thea.” Xavier is waiting on his bike. Bucket the flower until it covers Thea's upper body.
“Yes, I bought twice as many flowers as I used to buy.” I'm Thea.
He left his flowers on Xavier while he was wearing a helmet. Xavier came along to smell the flowers that turned out to be very fresh.
“What do you think?” Ask Thea to Xavier.
“The wind is good. What every woman likes flowers?” Xavier asked back.
“Of course, almost all women love it. Giving flowers to someone who is loved is one way that can be done to symbolize love to someone we are very privileged. And roses, one of the types of flowers used to convey that message.”
Thea immediately got on the bike and sat on Xavier's sidecar. He took over the flower from Xavier's hand.
“What are the flowers of various types?” Xavier was curious.
“Iya. Different types of flowers, different also the meaning of the flower.”
“Okey, I'm ready. Don't go too fast.” Thea hugged the flower tightly between her and Xavier.
“Good.”
The engine starts and Xavier starts the bike casually. Every now and then he looked back through his rearview mirror, some petals falling in the wind. I think he knows the reason Thea asked him not to go too fast on his bike.
As a result he drove his bike slowly. After all, the distance to Thea's hometown was not too far away anymore.
By late afternoon, they arrived at a settlement. Xavier stopped his bike and let Thea go down first.
Clean air is immediately felt with a not so bright sky. Not many people were in sight because this settlement was a deserted area.
“This is your hometown?” Xavier asked after removing his helmet. They stopped in front of an old house that Thea looked at sadly.
“Iya, my father and I used to live here.” Thea.
Thea went into the yard of her house that only distributed wood in the original stacking. Some have even been weathered and disengaged. A simple old house looks more like an old shack that was left behind and not maintained.
"Only once a year have I come to this house, to rest after my mother and father's grave."
“Krieeett..” The wooden door creaked when it opened Thea.
Xavier follows Thea's steps into a dull whitewashed house with a bucket of dried flowers attached to the door. Some of the weathered stairs he passed easily.
When the door opened, Thea was greeted by flying dust and Thea had to cover her nose with the back of her hand. His vision was faint, as there were no lights on. In the past, this house was isolated. There is no electricity installed and only rely on sunlight or candles at night.
Thea opened some curtains that covered the window glass to make this room look brighter with the help of afternoon sunlight.
“That's your photo?” Xavier asked, looking at a photo on the wall. A picture of the little Thea with a man of stout stature holding her.
“Iyaa. The photo was taken when I was about five years old. Exactly a few days before my father died.”
Thea took the photo and she looked closely and rubbed it slowly. Her lips smiled as she recalled some sweet memories stored in her mind.
“This is the only photo I have and I deliberately did not take it, so that I always feel that this place has always been our home.” Reveal Thea with feeling.
Without Thea realizing it, Xavier took a picture of her from behind and shocked her with the light of a flashlight. The photo with the already dirty glass frame looks in contrast to the reflection of Thea's faint face on the surface.
“You're right, now I can shoot it. I used to not have a phone like this.” Thea follows Xavier to retake a photo of him and his father. Luckily Xavier gave him a smart phone that he could use to photograph many things in this house.
“You've been away from this house since you were little?” Ask Xavier who is curious.
He opened the white covering cloth that covered the wooden chair in this house and sat there.
“Iya. A few days before my father died, he fell ill. He used to be delirious about calling my mother's name, Claire. He also used to yell in the middle of the night and make people around my house think my dad is crazy.” Thea walked to many corners slowly, like trying to remember her last memories with her father. How the tension and fear of each night that Thea felt, like coming back.
"We were forced to leave this place because they thought my father was crazy. But one day before we left, my father died." I remember Thea with her sad face.
"I have only a few memories with my father and half of those memories are sad and scary memories."
“He always told me to never take this bracelet off, but now I'm separated from this bracelet.” Thea looked at her mother's bracelet that had been missing for some time.
“But for some reason, I feel free of something.” Thea was stuck in place, holding the bracelet tightly. Either what this bracelet is made of that he clearly feels has a strong bond.
“That bracelet also brought me to your world, Thea. He kind of pulled me into this place and gave me such incredible energy that I could escape my curse.” Xavier stood beside Thea and looked at the bracelet.
“Didn't this bracelet make you sick?” Thea looked at Xavier who was beside her.
“Iyaa. When this bracelet is still in your hand, just seeing it makes my body hurt. But now, it's like giving me strength and calm at the same time.” Xavier said with confidence.
Xavier's blue eyes glittered as he stared at the blue stone in the center of the bracelet. A strong gust of wind came into the house, flying small and thin objects but the longer the wind felt stronger while Xavier was more and more fixated on staring at the bracelet.
“Xavier!” call Thea. Thea clasped the bracelet back in her hand and just then Xavier seemed to wake up.
“What happened?” ask Thea. The bluish twinkle in Xavier's eyes had already disappeared.
“Entah Thea. For a while my heart seemed to stop beating from staring at your bracelet.” Xavier closed his eyes and set his breathing that had stopped.
“Then, stop looking at this bracelet. I'm afraid something bad happened to you.” Thea immediately put the bracelet in her pocket.
“Good.” Xavier nodded obediently.
“We'll probably spend the night here tonight. So we have to tidy it up.” Thea looked for candles to illuminate this not-so-extensive room. While finding one candle, Xavier helps Thea to light it.
“But unfortunately, this house only has one room. I hope you don't mind sharing a bed with me.” Thea. Although his face was embarrassed, he had to say it.
“No problem, I can sleep in this chair.” Xavier looked at the chair he had been sitting on.
“Good. Now, let's go to my mother's grave.” Take Thea.
Xavier nodded small, he followed Thea's footsteps. Some people noticed Thea and Xavier. They whispered to each other when they saw the two coming out of Thea's house. It seemed like Xavier and Thea's whereabouts were quite eye-catching to them.
