"Cania!"
Devan approached the shady Kania and leaned against the glass wall. He drowned his face between his knees.
Hearing Devan's name, Kania immediately looked up.
The guilt in Devan's heart grew even greater seeing how messed up Kania's face was today. Her eyes were red and puffy, her lips were pale, and her hair was starting to fall apart.
"Devan... I think I'll stay here until sometime. If punish me roughly, dong." Kania's cry broke again as she stared at Devan.
Devan's approaching. Brave to hug Kania whose clothes were wet in part due to the splashing of rainwater. "Sorry, yeah. I completely forgot you were still here. The door is automatically locked and only I can open."
"You don't know how panicked I am, Devan. I tried to open the door can't. My phone ran out of battery. It's hot, it's raining. Shaka, mom and dad must be worried too. Some rich freaks are just doors with all their fingerprints."
"Yes. Sorry, yes. It is also called privacy. Now we're down. Find food for you first, then I'll take you home."
Kania did not refuse because she needed everything Devan said. Food and drink because he was thirsty and hungry. Eight hours stuck in the roof top and could not get off because only Devan could open the door. Kania also needs to be taken home to be able to meet with Shaka and her parents who must have been worried because Kania had no news since morning.
Kania's head feels dizzy. Effects of hunger, thirst, heat and rain. Plus the panic and fear that hit him.
Kania almost fell if Devan didn't hold Kania's body. "Aren't you strong? Want to get in a carry?" devan asked with a worried look.
"Strong, really. Just this dizzy head. Because of you, anyway." Kania put on alert mode due to the softer Devan changes. Afraid that Devan would do anything to her again.
"Yes, sorry. I was wrong." Devan took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. Realizing that Kania is stuck in the roof top was because of Devan's mistake.
Devan brought Kania into his room. Tell Kania to sit on the sofa and Devan to get warm water. "All you can drink now is this. In the refrigerator there is the same soda... Yeah, you'll know."
Kania nodded. "Yes. Thanks." Thanks." Kania received the glass filled with water and then downed it until the water was not left.
"That's really thirsty, huh?"
Devan's question rewarded a fierce gaze from Kania. "Yes you think, dong. No eating or drinking all day. Different story that I'm fasting." Kania ignited her emotions. It looks like he just received Devan's hug. But now his original attitude towards Devan is back again after getting drinking water intake.
"I ordered food. Eat first I'll drive you home."
"Eat in the car. I need a charger to let my phone live. Call me dad."
Devan agreed. "OKAY. There's a power bank in the car. We're going down now."
Kania moved from her seat. Devan noticed some of the clothes Kania was wearing were wet. Devan swiftly took off his suit and he put it on Kania's shoulder. "Cold. Just wear it."
Devan's treatment keeps Kania glued in place. Still haven't stepped foot until Devan opens the door.
"You want to stay here?" Devan's question breaks Kania's daydream.
Kania quickly shook her head. "No," he replied and immediately followed Devan's steps.
Although only a glass of water filled her stomach, Kania remained strong to walk. Hunger does not make it weak so it must be on the papah, or in the carrying as Devan had offered earlier.
Arriving in the car, Devan immediately gave the power bank to Kania.
Kania quickly received it, then plugged the cable into the phone that could finally light up after getting energy. Kania quickly finds her father's number and calls him.
"Assalamualaikum, Father," said Kania when his phone was picked up by Karno.
"Vaalaikumsalam, Kania. Maasyaaallah, son. Everyone's worried that your sister's gonna have permission to cancel tonight's flight. Shaka is still crying out for you. He came home in a school car. Where are you going?" Behind her father's words that sounded like scolding her, there was a tremendous sense of relief when he found out Kania was fine.
"Later Kania explained at home, yes, sir. Now Kania is fine. Tell Shaka that Kania's coming home soon."
"Yes, Nduk. Just be careful, yeah."
"Yes, Sir. Assalamualaikum."
"Goddessalam..."
Kania's phone closed after her father returned his greetings.
Devan gives a box of fruit salad and fried rice to Kania. The two meals were ordered by Devan and reached the office just as Kania and Devan had just exited the elevator on the ground floor. "Eat the salad first so that the stomach is not surprised. If you directly eat heavy later your digestion is not smooth."
Kania did not answer even though he was astonished by Devan's changed attitude. Probably because of his guilt. Inner Kania rejected Devan's sudden change. Maybe just because of his guilt. Tomorrow maybe Devan will be back as he was. Sucks.
A spoonful per tablespoon of salad managed to get into the stomach of Kania. It's just that Kania can't afford to add it with a box of fried rice. For Kania, his stomach was filled with gratitude. Kania just wants to hurry home and meet Shaka and her parents and sister.
"Not eaten?"
Kania glanced at Devan. "Why all of a sudden turn good gini, anyway? Don't scare me, you. Kayak is usually. It makes me feel more secure. If it's guilt, I'm sorry."
A long breath from Devan's nose was heard by Kania. "Both wrong, judes are also wrong, fierce and emotions are more wrong. What do you want, anyway?" Devan grumbled in annoyance. Didn't expect Kania to answer.
And right, Kania didn't respond. Kania prefers to throw his gaze on the dark streets mixed with the rain that is not too heavy.
"Pure. The other one can work tomorrow. And the other one I've done it with, too" Devan replied without looking at Kania.
"Thank you, yeah. Next time you don't have to turn off someone else's windfall like that. Thanks also you have taken down all the news that has been circulating. You did it, right?"
Devan nodded in confirming. Devan has done it all. Any media that is reckless about her, Kania, and Shaka, will get a lesson directly from Devan.
"Ep... Do you also know who spread all this?"
Devan nodded again. "Know!" the answer with certainty made Kania change her sitting position which was originally facing forward, now facing Devan.
"Who?" tanyanya.
"You will know. I'll take care of it tomorrow."
Kania sighed in disappointment at not getting an answer to her curiosity. Want to force, Kania hesitated. It's better to bury his curiosity until Devan tells him tomorrow, or the day after tomorrow, or at some point.
***
Devan looked at Kania who looked hesitant to go down. While following Kania's view, Devan sees two men sitting on the terrace of Kania's house.
Both Devan had seen with a glance. Devan recalls he was a pilot whose face was familiar to Devan. Yeah, now Devan's found the answer. The face was so similar to Kania. Maybe he's Kania's sister.
And the other one, Devan remembers he was the man who came to pick up Kania when Kania collapsed from seeing her in the parlour back then.
Is she Kania's lover? devan asked inwardly without daring to ask Kania directly.
"Why not go down? He said he'd like to see Shaka soon?"
"Eh, yes." Kania answered with doubt.
Rama and Tristan look surprised by the arrival of Kania. I am so glad that Kania is okay.
"Mr? O Allah, Alhamdulillah, Ma'am Kania is fine. I'm really worried. Everyone is worried about Kania."
Kania laughed at Tristan's words. "Sorry, you've worried."
"Mother!!!!" Shaka who had just come out from inside the house immediately ran and rushed to hug Kania. "Mother where are you? Shaka's afraid of mommy why-why."
Kania kisses both cheeks of Shaka. "Mother is here now, baby. Sorry, yes, if Mother made Shaka worried. Mother promises not to repeat it again."
"Promise?" Shaka raised his little finger. Kania laughs and links her pinky to Shaka's pinky. "Promise!" kania said with certainty.
"Salim used to be the same father," ordered Kania who made everyone dumbfounded. Including Devan and Rama.
Devan had no idea that Kania would say that in front of so many people.
"Dad!" Shaka approached Devan. Kissing Devan's hand and Devan immediately lifts Shaka's body into his sling.
"Dad's son is getting heavier, huh?" canda Devan covers up his harrowing feeling while holding Shaka and hearing Shaka call him father.
"That means fat Shaka?"
"What matters is being healthy and smart."
"I want to go with you."
Shaka's words make Devan look at Kania. Kania just stared at him flatly. Gave a sign that he wouldn't let Devan take Shaka.
"Other times, yes. It's late at night. Shaka's going to school tomorrow."
"Then I'm booby here."
"Geez, Shaka... It's late, son. I'm tired of work." Kania tries to persuade Shaka. "After all, you don't miss your mother? Mommy is really kangen with Shaka."
All persuasions have been given to Shaka. Finally, Shaka wanted to get down from Devan's sling and go back inside the house. And Devan said goodbye to go home.
Now live Kania and Rama who are still on the terrace of Kania's house. The two are silent.
Kania doesn't understand what she's feeling. And Rama who is still trying to dampen his emotions because he feels jealous to see Kania coming with Devan.
Especially with the man's suit attached to Kania's body. It made Rama even more angry.
Rama is also jealous to see Shaka's closeness with Devan. Shaka no longer greeted her enthusiastically as she came to the house. Unlike Shaka who looks very happy when he sees Devan.
