CEO Seed
Chapter 48

Kania squirmed her body which felt heavy. It was like something was hitting his stomach, making it difficult to move.

Slowly his eyes opened. The hour hand shows at four o'clock, soon dawn.

How surprised Kania was when she saw Devan sleeping nearby with her hands coiled in Kania's stomach. His body is still sitting on the chair. But his head was laid down right next to Kania's head.

Kania immediately got up and put Devan's hand away violently. "Basic bawdy!" he said while researching his body parts one by one. Perhaps there was his shirt uncovered or the buttons of his shirt were removed.

Her still normal appearance made Kania exhale with relief. At least Devan did nothing to Kania who was in deep sleep.

"But this kasian is also this guy. Since when did he sleep that way? Pegel ain't, is he?" muttered Kania while staring at Devan's sleeping face.

Long she looked. It is undoubtedly the superior seeds of Bram and Hanum. Handsome is amazing. However, Kania's heart has been hurt by Devan's treatment and accusations so far. Devan's good looks mean nothing more to Kania if Devan's heart is so dirty and his mind is always bad about Kania.

The reverberating dawn Adhan draws Kania from her daydreams. He immediately got out of bed and took the water.

When Kania came out of the bathroom, Devan was still in the starting position. Not moving at all except for his shoulders being up and down regularly a sign Devan is still breathing.

"Wake up!" Kania shook Devan's shoulder slowly. "Wake up! Pray at dawn" he said a little loudly.

Devan's eyes opened quickly and immediately looked at Kania before his eyes. "What time, anyway? Very disturbing!" grunts Devan. Devan squirmed his body that felt sore.

"First prayer. If you want to be a good priest, don't stay in prayer." Kania's words are not heeded by Devan. Because Devan prefers to lay down his body, continuing his sleep in the place where the former Kania slept.

No less resourceful, Kania will ask Shaka who happened to have woken up to wake Devan. "Wake up your father, son. Invite him to dawn."

Shaka nodded and smiled enthusiastically. From his bed, Shaka called out to Devan. "Dad, wakeup! We pray at dawn."

One call from Shaka had no effect. Devan's still asleep. It was so easy for him to sleep again. Just a few minutes ago, he opened his eyes and moved.

"Dad!" Shaka raised his voice until Devan woke up. That made Kania hold back her laughter.

"What's up, kid? Is anyone sick? Where does it hurt? I'll get a doctor, okay?"

"No, Dad. Shaka wants to invite father to pray at dawn. Same mother as well."

Devan's face looked confused. Kania who began to understand was immediately looking for an excuse to save Devan's good name in front of Shaka.

"Emm, let me pray in mushalla just look for breakfast. Shaka the same mother pray here."

Devan looked at Kania with a look of disbelief. Didn't expect Kania would do this.

Devan is a muslim. But all this time he was negligent and left his prayers. Even the recitation of prayers was much that he forgot.

Later, she must thank Kania for protecting her good name in front of Shaka. It feels very embarrassed if Shaka knows his father's prayer movements and readings are not perfect.

With a normal forced smile, Devan walked out of Shaka's room. But Devan never stepped foot into a hospital mushalla. Devan prefers to sit in front of Shaka's nursery while waiting for Shaka and Kania to finish praying.

"Thank you for not embarrassing me in front of Shaka."

Kania nodded with such a flat facial expression.

After she finished praying, Kania came out of the room. No longer surprised to see Devan sitting and leaning his head against the wall. Eyes closed. But Kania knows Devan is not sleeping.

"I'm not a good person. But I tried to carry out my duties as a Muslim even though I wasn't all that I could do."

Kania's speech was like an innuendo to Devan. Obviously he was shunned. Devan has never done his duty as a Muslim. He forgot the last time he prayed.

"On Shaka's request yesterday..."

"okay." Devan replied with resignation.

"Why would you marry me too? I never demanded your responsibility. Someone else would probably take that opportunity to leave, looking for a much better woman than me."

"I'm a company leader. Responsibility is one of the capital of a leader. I really wanted to leave. Even asking mom to stop bringing you into our lives. Just give you the money, and assume it's all done. But Papa and Mama were furious and said I was a coward for trying to escape responsibility. Because I don't feel like a man like that, I do. I want to take responsibility for what I did in the past. That's if you want to."

Devan's intelligent brain easily looks for the right reason. There was no way she would say her position was at stake if she could not get Kania to marry her.

Kania nodded in understanding even though the doubt was still reigning. It was not easy to accept Devan who had already scratched too many wounds in his heart. Even if what he does is a form of accountability.

"Later eight o'clock we go to the police station. The main culprit has been caught."

Devan's words made Kania's heart beat fast. Finally the curiosity will be over. I can't wait to see who would hurt Shaka.

***

At eight in the morning, Kania and Devan were already at the police station. They depart after her mother Kania and Hanum come to take care of Shaka.

Kania sat up restlessly. His heart was pounding waiting for who the police would bring out from inside.

"Why do you want him if you meet him later?"

"What, anyway?" Kania melengos lazy to hear the question Devan is not important.

"Would you fight or have a pretty fight?"

"It's not clear, you! He's the one who made your son wretched, you know. Can you, yeah, you're this relaxed? No love for kids, huh? Honestly, deh."

"Apaan, hell, you! My man is just nanya."

Kania closed her eyes and exhaled violently. Talking to Devan will still end the same. Sucks.

Devan's attitude on that one may have been ingrained. Can't be eliminated anymore. Amit-amit. Don't go snaking to Shaka. Inner Cania thrashing.

Fifteen minutes waiting, the police finally came out carrying a woman Kania recognized.

Kania does not think that he can do that to a child as small as Shaka who knows nothing and nothing wrong.

"Why?" devan asked as Devan got Kania's eyes looking as if asking, was everything before him?

"You're sure he did it?" ask Kania slowly. Hardly heard by anyone.

"He confessed everything in front of the police. Do what you want to do to this woman, Ka."

Kania walked up to a beautiful woman who could hurt her child. Both of the women's hands were handcuffed.

"Why are you doing all this? Why should Shaka know nothing? If you have a problem with me, do it to me. Not to Shaka. He was a kid. He doesn't know about adult problems. But why would you do this?"

The woman smiled cynically. There was no trace of fear or regret on his face. "Of course because all the mistakes are on you. I'll just be wasting my time if I give you a deterrent effect directly. It'll hurt if it's through your son. Honey, he's not dead."

Hearing that, Kania clenched both of her hands. "But you ended up going to jail, right? And your goal is nothing you can get."

The woman growled, annoyed at hearing Kania's words. His goal to teach Kania a lesson also failed.

He forgot who he was dealing with. A Devan Maulana, surely with ease he can find awkwardness in the accident that befell Shaka. Including the people behind the accident on purpose.
