~POV Third~
As everyone regroups at the designated place, Hinata and Tatsumi both begin to talk about what kind of enemies they will face from the information they gathered for the day. Both make sure to talk in great detail to ensure that everyone is listening to the exchange of info.
Hinata was the first to explain the island's situation.
Stating clearly is that the citizens in the Conomi Islands live as slaves without any real power to kill the Fishman or even expel them. They had tried in the past to ask for help but the matter with the Sea King made them stop all attempts to try to get help by sea.
Some tried to fight them during the day with swords, pitchforks, and flintlocks but the Fishman's skin usually left little damage knowing it worked on weapons. But they were soon torn from their strength.
With that, the idea of rebellion was extinguished as they went out of their way to get rid of their opposition. And those who tried to be arrested when Arlong himself displayed his own execution in public.
There is more detail on how they operate as they all have one base of operations in Arlong park where they enslave a young girl at a very young age to work for them in making maps East Blue's.
Hearing this Saeko and Ruby were both shaken but Tatsumi remained calm as she studied their expressions, fear was shown to Saeko and Ruby one of anger as she looked at them carefully.
After everything had been said, Ruby wanted to say her part to everyone in a hot tone to everyone, "Our friends should do something about that Fish-Man! These people are hurting people, we should go in and rush to defeat him!!"
A small laugh came out from Tatsumi's voice as he heard Ruby's reply as he reasoned at her while getting, his attention as he smiled, "That sounds good and everything is Ruby. Except for the fact that we're outnumbered here. And that Fish-Man doesn't really want to make peace with humans."
Ruby puffed her cheeks as she tried to confer with Tatsumi about what was right while Hinata and Saeko listened to the two, "Tatsumi we have to help the villagers, and we -"
It was then that Tatsumi silenced her by responding in a harsh tone because she would not indulge her with the reality of the situation as she spoke to him, "What are we really?
checking our Ruby needs an actual plan and I know their number. I had to get information from one of them the hard way - "
That's when Ruby interrupts Tatsumi because she's kind enough to let him as she responds to Tatsumi with some doubts then cringes, "Wait for how you got the exact number of Fishman and why ... You are not ... "
Tatsumi for his part responded by shrugging lightly over his shoulder as he replied, "If you think I'm torturing Fish-Man. Then yes, I will not deny it, nor will I allow an idealist to take this Ruby seriously. I'm a realist, I'm just doing what we can know."
Ruby for her part looked at the other with an expression pleading to know what Tatsumi was doing was wrong but there was no response from either. Unlike in his world, their view of morals is as abstract as Tatsumi's view of Hinata.
Saeko on the other hand knows that the world of Tatsumi where she lives is as dangerous as the world of Ruby. The difference between the two is that Tatsumi becomes real as he experiences his world while Ruby is a daydreamer unaware of how cruel his world is not taking him seriously enough to train as if his life depends on it.
*Swoosh*
Seeing that Ruby won't get help because she's not the protagonist of the show, he then rushed away as Tatsumi saw Ruby disappear using [Petal Burst] to shock everyone but Tatsumi acted because seeing it was completely avoidable.
Ruby is too optimistic while Tatsumi is too realistic the difference between the two will definitely set them apart because Hinata and Saeko look very worried because Ruby is still 15 years old.
Tatsumi was the first to respond when he came out at night when he tried to look for Ruby as he told the two, "Don't worry, I'll chase after her! Make sure to stay hidden, I'll bring her back!!"
*Swoosh*
With that Tatsumi started chasing the little red hood at night...

~Tatsumi POV~
Fucking ruby.
I know you love playing as a hero in your world and so on, but you're sometimes really solid as a rock!
Damn, your show reveals how crowded you are and how deadly you really are if you give up on the shoe action and start killing your enemies. He was by definition an idiot but with the ability of a speedster and a molecular user if he knew how deadly he was then most of the enemies in his path would die with just a single touch.
Can you imagine how many lives Ruby would save if she had the guts to finish off her enemies, would she be able to end them, that would save her a lot of trouble?
For what Ruby sometimes he only sees the difference between white and dark black that is plain, good and evil, light and dark. And he believes in the delusion of self that he's going to save everyone and everything's okay like the story?
Yeah no, that kind of shit stops now.
Because that same mentality is what makes almost everyone follow him as a leader. And this here is a prime fucking example when someone else doesn't see his view of what needs to be done or is willing to accept it, he runs away!
There is no such thing as a hero. Those who claim the title for themselves live in their imaginary world. Everyone lives by their perception of right or wrong.
But for me, I see power as a means to change everything. A prime example is from One Piece that they choose everything by force. Unless you have the power, you can't change anything.
Sighs...
For now, I have to look for Ruby after not wanting to come up with the truth about how I overcame my problem. But I'd rather not let him go dying on me now.
...
...
When I tried to get close to where Ruby was, I managed to find her sitting on a tree branch as she looked into the distance. With him there I went ahead and approached him but did not demand to see that he looked far away.
Well, I guess it's time we talked because all this time we didn't talk directly when we started sitting on starry nights looking at the real full moon. I don't want Ruby to be scared when I demand it or something while I wait to see what she does next.
We sat for a while because Ruby just kept staring at the night sky looking at the full moon until she finally asked me a few questions, "Tatsumi... the circle in the middle of the night is very pretty..."
While sitting on the tree branch, I began to answer her questions to calm her down so as not to run away, "That's the moon, Ruby. Looks like a full moon this time. There is another phrase for a crescent moon, or half shows itself in the sky."
We were just sitting for a while when Ruby took a picture with her. Scroll through the iPhone and we sit in silence.
It was a while before Ruby finally responded to me in a confused tone as she spoke to me in a sad tone,
"Tatsumi... Why do you have to do the things you do? You can't kill them if it's your choice, can you let them go?"
Closing my eyes in the starry night sky, I answered Ruby my answer because I felt that we would talk a lot about each other, "I can't for the reason they can tell Arlong or the others. The torture ... I've talked about how my village was attacked by robbers and bandits, when I finished taking their shit, I had to be serious."
It didn't seem to answer his question, but regardless, I continued explaining to him while looking at the sky, "I, Ieyasu, and Sayo all agreed to get rid of them once and for all, and for that we need information. When I tortured my first person, I was disgusted by what I was doing, but I did it in the name of survival and protecting those close to me."
Waiting for a while, Ruby then asked with sincere curiosity to me as she spoke in a friendly voice, "Why? Why do you have to be that extreme to protect someone? Don't you have someone responsible for taking care of it? "
Now it was funny as I laughed out loud as I responded to Ruby with a serious expression as I shook my head, "No. We are alone here with our friends.
The Empire took care of their people, so we were left alone to deal with our problems. I had to live a difficult life at first with my mother leaving me in front of the steps of the chieftain. From then on, my only goal was to become stronger someday."
Silence filled the air between us as we kept our gaze from the moon because it was my turn to answer Ruby about her life in a gentle tone, "So, how about you Ruby? the luxury of asking me these questions?"
It was then that Ruby started talking to me about her life or what it was like with her family to be Hunters and Hunters protecting humans from Grimm. But he also talks about his family life being so lonely sometimes.
He further explained to me that when he first came here, he thought he could be a hero but it was ruined by how we took him very seriously compared to his expectations.
But what caught his attention was that he managed to see the body where I hid the Fish-Man that I had hidden from ordinary view as the color of his face dried up knowing how serious I was towards my enemy.
Marg Panther Cubs was one thing he could forget but a living being was another when he asked another question, "Tatsumi... You think you're a bad person for killing?"
Glancing up at the night sky I gave her my honest answer to her question as I spoke, "No, I don't care.
Those who think of themselves as a force of good and those who seek destruction are all matters of perspective. Tell me Ruby, do you think I'm a bad guy for killing other people?"
Looking at Ruby, she nodded her head as I answered her with a hypothetical question as I spoke to her, "OK, but tell me this Ruby. If you want to arrest someone who says he has committed an affair, a kidnapping involving human trafficking, drug use to destroy the mind of his victim, and the list goes on, would you kill that person if he had plenty of wealth to escape punishment just to repeat it? Is that gonna make me as bad as the guy you caught?"
Seeing him tremble, a little at my question, I answered why I was killing, to begin with as I spoke kindly to him about my situation, "Ruby ... when my friends found out the location of the robbers and bandits which meant injuring my village. A nobleman armed them in exchange for the women and children of my village. Did killing that guy and everything connected to him make me a bad guy?"
What I'm saying is the truth of it all.
That's what happened when Ieyasu and Sayo found out like I did just made us sick to our stomachs for that to happen. After that point, we killed everyone in their sleep and killed the nobles on the street who robbed his belongings as well as practiced torture on him.
Ruby on the other hand seems to be deep in thought from the talk that we might want to make her conclusion. But it seems to me that he is considering my words now.
He had time to grow up only if he learned through his mistakes, at least he would become more mature into a decent adult. But as Ozpin said before, they are just kids, so they should have the moment to enjoy it because their role as kids won't last forever.
The silence broke as Ruby started talking again as she spoke to me in a lost tone, "Tatsumi... what exactly drives you to do what you want and practice as you do? What do you ultimately want? "
That answer was always the simplest for me as I responded to Ruby with a smile ending the conversation as we returned to the other members quietly now, "Simple. I want to live."
#connecting.
