Ok so far after all with a short fight against Dorothea a week ago, I was finally able to use the alchemy of this world directly.

Alchemy here is different from what is used differently in the FMA version because no earth energy is used to power them. Instead, they used their life energy to ignite a symbol like how Dorothea used her blood to activate it.

Alchemy is a scientific technique for understanding the structure of matter, decomposing it, and then reconstructing it. If done skillfully, it is even possible to make gold from lead. However, since this is a science, there are some natural principles that apply. Only one thing can be created from something else with a certain mass.

This is the Equal Exchange Principle.

All Transmutation Circles are made up of two parts:

The circle itself is a channel that focuses and dictates the flow of power, harnessing the energy already present within the earth and matter. It represents the flow of the energy cycle and the phenomena of the world and converts that power into a purpose that can be manipulated.

Inside the circle were certain alchemy runes. These runes vary greatly based on ancient alchemical studies, texts, and experiments, but correspond to different forms of energy, it allows the energy focused within the circle to be released in a way that is most conducive to the desired effect of the alchemist.

In basic alchemy, these runes would often be triangular in shape which, when positioned differently, could represent the elements of either water, earth, fire or air, he said, but it will often consist of a variety of polygons built from different triangles.

Other more esoteric runes include astrological symbols, symbolic images, and various lines of text prevalent and representing many other specific functions for the alchemical energy released.
