chapter 30: a beautiful lake

“bibi..!” xin Mei woke up with a bad condition in the morning. His body was covered in sticky sweat, his clothes were ripped and his feet were injured from the burning.

When he woke up, he realized he was in a place he didn't know at all. The expanse of short grass thrives beneath it. A small lake was seen in front of him. The lake water is very clear, and filled with lotus flowers that are developing beautifully at this time. The fragrant flowers make bees and other insects visit it.

Yellow sunlight is very beautiful and soothing to emerge from the eastern horizon. Xin Mei could feel the warmth from that sunlight.

‘is that a dream? No, it wasn't a dream. I have to help aunt.” Xin mei hurried to her feet. He walked up to the lake limping, walking among the grass that started dropping dewdrops.

After arriving at the edge of the lake, he became confused, where was the location of the house? And where he should walk.

In the confusion of a few seconds, suddenly a voice came from behind him, “ayo we go.”

Xin Mei became angry and hated hearing that voice. It was none other than the voice of the person who made him suffer and be tormented like this.

“Where to go!? I have to save Aunt He Xian first!” He then walked through the lake and wanted to cross to the other side.

However, before he stepped in suddenly Tang Li said which made him surprised. “She has died.”

Xin mei's face turned dark. He clenched his hands tightly and turned around.

Xin Mei turned to look at the sky. Her tears started to come out. Even though he said that, he did not know where to go, where to start and how to save him. He could only cry and sit by the lake. Her tears trickled into the mirror of the lake creating circles.

Tang Li approached her.

“go you from here! I hate you! This must have been you. And I'm locked up in that house because of you, too! What do you want? Are you satisfied after seeing me suffer? If you hate my family, you can torture me, but why do you torture people near me?” xin mei cried moaning.

Tang Li did not answer. He then left from there.

On a clear day the sun is above. A gentle breeze blew, creating a tone.

Xin Mei was still sitting by the lake. Sweat dripped down. Her face flushed. He stared at the surface of the water expressionlessly. Both of his eyes were still red, but it had ended up spitting out water.

Tang Li approached her

“Why are you here? Quick left. I don't need you here.”

“woman it congratulations.”

“I didn't—wait, what did you say?” xin mei suddenly stood up.

“I said, he survived.”

“You liar!” xin Mei then sat down again.

“I'm not lying. These. He gave it to you.” Tang Li held out a statue with his right hand.

When xin mei saw the statue, her two eyes glazed over. He started crying and grabbed the statue and hugged it.

Tang Li was about to leave, but suddenly xin mei asked, “Aren't you lying?”

Suddenly Tang Li turned his head, Tang Li's two eyes became sharper and one of his ears twitched. He pulled Xin Mei's hand into his embrace.

Xin Mei wanted to curse but after a quick glance at something Tang Li caught she chose silence. However, he inhaled something and felt his body become unwell.

“Close your mouth and nose,” Tang Li said after sensing something from the arrow. He then looked towards the place where the arrow came from. Suddenly a scream was heard from behind the bushes.

“we have to go from si–”

He immediately hurried away from xin Mei and wondered what was in the arrow.

Xin Mei's face suddenly turned red and livid. There must be something he's been breathing.

“forgive me. Please don't do that disgusting thing again.” Xin Mei then hugged Tang Li even tighter.

“Let me be like this for a moment. If I do strange things, please help me.”

In the afternoon Xin Mei finally woke up. His head felt dizzy and light-headed.

“ayo we go.”

“A-Do I do anything weird?” xin Mei's cheeks met red. She was embarrassed after doing that. Never did he expect his first kiss to happen to the person he hated so much. However, for some reason his body suddenly could not be controlled.

“T-wait. My leg was injured in the fire. I can't walk far. Can you help me?”

Tang Li sighed. He then crouches. “ayo up.”

There's no answer.

“If you don't want n–”

“Who said?” xin Mei said after ascending. “ If you give it a thousand times, I won't turn it down.” Xin Mei wrapped her hands around Tang Li's neck and held her arms. He really likes this. Although Tang Li was the one he hated, he would not reject something like this.

When xin mei said, she was overjoyed as if there had been no sadness before.

Tang Li held xin mei sincerely. If not for her feeling guilty for making Xin Mei trapped and suffer, she couldn't have possibly done this.

“Wait..I want to eat today and go find my pendant. Would you like to help me?”

Xin Mei was silent for a moment in surprise. “How can you be with yourself? Quickly submit.” Xin Mei extended her hand. A feeling of relief appeared in his heart after hearing that. Although he did not know yet whether Tang Li was lying or not.
