Embroidery Girl
Chapter 50: A bowl of soup

The next day, Tang Li stood under a tree with Jia Hu.

Jia Hu asked, “Do you really want to go now?”

Tang Li nodded.

“I won't be able to ban it, but if you want, you can stay here longer.”

Tang Li did not answer.

Jia Hu then looked at the sight of Chang’an City and smiled enjoying how beautiful the city looked from where it stood.

“Sister Tang, you should be able to protect your lover for the second time.”

“Therefore, I have to go to Chang’an city first, then go finish them.”

“You must be careful.”

Tang Li nodded, then looked back. There Xin Mei had changed clothes and approached him.

That petite and pretty expression made Tang Li interested in her.

Xin Mei looked at him with a deep gaze, then ran over to Jia Hu.

“Sister Jia, I'll go now.”

Jia Hu looked over. “If any time please stop by, I will make you a better porridge than before.”

“Pasti.”

Jia Hu smiled, then asked, “Xin, be careful on the road, that man with you will always prey on you. I don't want a beautiful woman like you to do that.”

“No more will happen brother. Tang Li has behaved better than ever.”

They talked for a while and finally left.

Jia Hu then went inside.

When it was not far from there, Xin Mei held Tang Li's hand, but Tang Li did not want to and let go. There was a little awkwardness between them.

They walked in mute in the morning.

During the day, they ate at a shop on the side of the road.

After eating, Xin Mei asked, “After you drive me to the brothel, what are you going to do?”

“Go to the mountains and enjoy the rest of life.”

“Very boring.”

Tang Li did not answer.

They then continued their journey from morning to evening and night. They sometimes practiced swords together, and Xin Mei was sleepy in her cradle asleep.

The weather was sometimes very unfriendly, but with that weather they were getting closer, but Tang Li was trying to get away.

Until finally they arrived at the gate of Chang’an City.

Xin Mei smiled. There was a happy and sad feeling staring at the city gate. She was happy that she had arrived, but sad that she was about to part with Tang Li and then lead a miserable life.

Tang Li looked coldly and walked into the gate.

Xin Mei was silent looking at him, then went along together.

People are very crowded in Chang’an city. The residents were very friendly, they greeted Xin Mei and Tang Li several times. Xin Mei was happy, but Tang Li looked at her coldly. The food merchants that Xin Mei had never seen made her interested in wanting to taste it, yet what power, she had no money now.

With a sad face staring at his stomach. He looked at the bright blue ceiling. If he did not get food at least the sky still looked bright and smiled at him.

Xin Mei smiled faintly. But then suddenly his stomach rang badly. His cheeks were flushed and he was ashamed of hearing people. His face suddenly pouted. He tried to hide it, but failed.

After a while, he walked over again and was stunned, when one of the windows on the second floor of the building in front of him opened. A woman in her 30s appears sticking out her beautiful body. The white shirt shimmered when it was shining in the sun.

The woman noticed Xin Mei's gaze, then looked at her. He smiled thinly which was very gentle, then waved his hand slowly.

Xin Mei felt embarrassed and uneasy having looked at him. She shyly waved her hand. Then rushed forward running and bumping into people while apologizing.

Then he stopped. With her knees resting, Xin Mei adjusted her breathing. ‘why should I look at her?’

After her breathing calmed down, she only realized that she had lost Tang Li. He then patted her on the forehead. “Why else like this?”

This has happened many times, but this time it happened again. Xin Mei always thought, why could she lose Tang Li so quickly, and always asked how the man steadfastly left her. He did not know who to blame in each of these events.

Xin Mei sighed. Someone patted his shoulder. She's surprised.

The woman came to pat him. When she saw Xin Mei being surprised, she covered her mouth and chuckled. He did not expect that the little clap made the girl surprised.

“You surprised me.”

The woman ignored Xin Mei's comments. “Nona, why did you look at me earlier, do you know me?”

Xin Mei thought for a while to look for answers. But due to his haste, he was hard to answer. “It, the... That's... Because of your hair! Ah, yes, your hair.”

The woman then looked deeply into Xin Mei's eyes, making her uncomfortable. Then he smiled, then picked up the hairpin that was on his head.

“This red Lily spider hairpin is very charming, if you like it, take it.”

Xin Mei hesitantly looked at the hairpin. He never thought of liking her, let alone asking for her. That's just an excuse for him.

“No need.”

“It's okay.” The woman then touched Xin Mei's hair and slowly put it up.

“You're prettier than before.”

“T-thank you.” Xin Mei became uneasy.

“mari.”

The woman then held onto Xin Mei's hand and pulled her. He brought Xin Mei in and sat down at one of the tables.

The woman then raised her hand. “I ordered two vegetable soups!”

“Good!” Said someone inside.

“A-I'm not hungry.”

“Oh, really?” the woman smiled. Not for a long time was heard Xin Mei's stomach groaning, which embarrassed her.

The woman in front of him did not comment. He realized what had happened, but spoke nothing.

Not long after, finally two bowls of soup came. The liquid was very clear and a fresh smell spread from there, making Xin Mei interested in trying it.

He then grasped the bowl of soup and lifted it up.

The woman in front of him smiled.

When he wanted to drink it, suddenly someone had slapped the bowl down and spilled. He was shocked and looked at the soup that had fallen.

“Stupid.” One word came out from the mouth of the figure standing behind him.

He knew who had said such a thing, but somehow the voice made him so scared right now. He did not dare to look at her.
