At 7am, there was no news.
At 8am there was no news.
At 9 a.m., Victor Torres and the head of the Prescott family had trouble sitting still. They started pacing back and forth, and it was getting harder and harder to hide the anxiety and worry on their faces.
At 10am, everything was still calm and quiet.
It was as if they had thrown a bomb into the water, but instead of exploding, it sank to the bottom of the water and did not even cause an uproar.
Even Gage started to frown.
"What the hell is going on?" The head of the Hale family could not take it anymore either. "Why is there no news?"
"Just right! What the hell's going on? Not only are we waiting for – I'm afraid all the powerful families in the north are also waiting for this news."
Victor Torres had initially managed to suppress the uneasiness in his heart since the previous night. But now that unease crept back up and filled his heart.
He felt uncomfortable and scared.
The fear within him continued to grow.
"Everyone!" Gege. "Please calm down."
"We have sent a team of twelve people, four of whom are grandmasters and the remaining eight are close to reaching grandmaster level. Who can stop such a strong team?" He sneered and looked extremely displeased as he arrogantly stated, "Don't Greencliff and Starling City – I'm sure they will be able to knock down some large areas!"
"But where did it go?" Victor Torres started to panic. "That's Greencliff! That's forbidden territory! You can't compare it to anywhere else!"
"That place is hell on earth! The terrifying demon was there!"
He really got scared.
He suddenly recalled what Teacher Rane had said earlier. Victor Torres' feet gave up and he landed on the floor with a thud.
Victor Torres is really scared right now.
If they still hadn't heard anything by now, then the only news they would have gotten was bad news.
His sudden fall to the floor made Gage angry.
"Mr Torres!" Gege yelled at him. "If you behave like this ..."
"Young Master Gage!"
Someone came running from outside with a pale face and was extremely panicked.
"What's that!" shout Gege.
After a long time without any news, no matter how confident Gage was, he also started to feel uneasy. After Victor Torres suddenly lost control of his emotions, Gage also began to feel anxious.
"They're gone!" The subordinate knelt on the floor and shouted in panic, "They're all gone!"
"Four grandmasters have died in Starling City and eight skilled fighters have disappeared without a trace!"
It was as if lightning was snatching people from the four families.
"What did you say?" Gage thought he heard wrong. "That's impossible! That's impossible!!"
"They're all gone! Everybody's dead! Four grandmasters have died in Starling City, their corpses have been found. The other eight are gone and I'm worried.they're all dead too!"
Gege can't move. It was as if he was on the floor.
The other three men were pale on the face. They don't believe everything will be like this.
"What are you talking about?!" The head of the Prescott family had a red face as he rushed to grab his subordinate's collar. "Explain yourself! How could the people heading to Greencliff be missing? Explain to me!!"
"They're all dead!"
"Dead…"
Even the head of the Hale family was shocked for a while.
This is impossible.
That was his first reaction.
They had sent twelve highly skilled fighters!
He could still accept the fact that eight of them had died at Greencliff because he did not care about Greencliff in the first place. Losing eight people was no big deal.
But what about those four grandmasters?
They are grandmasters!
Back when the Broken Sword was slaughtering in the north, he still had not reached the level of a grandmaster. But all four of them were highly skilled fighters who had actually reached the grandmaster stage and became famous as a result!
They...they all just died?
They died in Starling City all night?
They don't even cause ripples!
