Chapter 619
Shawn Clark went straight to the point and asked this question in a low voice without hesitation. His gaze was extremely gloomy as he stared right into Ethan's eyes.
"That's right," Ethan's eyes narrowed and had no intention of hiding this. He nodded and answered honestly.
He already knew at what level Shawn was capable of after sparring with him earlier.
He was at the grandmaster level!
No one would have imagined that the seedy martial arts academy in the old part of town would hide a grandmaster level fighter who had been practicing boxing for the past few decades.
After that round of debate, the two of them knew each other's abilities.
But while Ethan knows Shawn's limits, Shawn Clark doesn't know Ethan's limits.
Shawn did not expect Ethan to answer so simply. He doesn't know what to say.
He stared at Ethan for a full ten seconds and took a deep breath.
"You're in big trouble."
Ethan replied calmly, "Is that so? I don't know."
"You are very strong and you may be even stronger than a grandmaster. But there are many highly skilled fighters hiding in the world of martial arts, and that's beyond your imagination" Shawn scorned without restraint. "Do you think it's impressive to be at the grandmaster level? Ha, you haven't seen enough of the world!"
The martial arts world?
It had been a long time since he had heard this term.
Of course Ethan knows that this martial arts world exists. Many martial artists hid from the public eye, and many of these highly skilled warriors were in the city and living in modernity. They do not hide in mountains or deep forests.
The world of martial arts has not disappeared. It just exists in a different form.
Just like Shawn – he is a very skilled fighter, but he continues to stay in this seedy martial arts academy and live a quiet life.
If Shawn wanted to, he could easily become an honored guest in a powerful family in the north!
"Smartial arts fighters are only low profile but they have not disappeared completely. The news of the four grandmasters dying in Starling City had spread in the martial arts world and I thought it was just a rumor. But after meeting you today ..."
Given Ethan's abilities, killing four grandmasters might be difficult, but it wasn't impossible.
He had a terrible ability at a very young age, but that is not necessarily a good thing.
"I didn't expect Uncle Clark to be so familiar with the affairs of the martial arts world" Ethan said with a smile.
Shawn's face flushed red and he sneered. "I'm not from the martial arts world, but I'm surrounded by it."
He looked at Ethan sadly.
If he had not misunderstood Ethan earlier and felt regretful, he would not have bothered to say many things.
"One of the grandmasters you killed was from the Northern High Kick Sect, a descendant of the Twelve Legs Spring Routine school. His name is Ian Tanner. Now that he was dead, he might have damaged the reputation of the entire Northern High Kick Sect, and they would definitely make trouble for you!"
Ethan narrowed his eyes slightly, but there was not the slightest bit of worry on his face.
"The fight between South Boxing and North Kick never stops. Do you think there will be fewer martial artists in this modern and advanced city?"
Shawn snorted, "Basic little bastard, you're in big trouble! I'm warning you, make sure you don't get Victoria into trouble, otherwise I won't let you go!"
But after thinking about it, he couldn't defeat Ethan in a fight, so there was no way to teach him a lesson either.
He was impressed that Ethan had reached this level of fighting ability at such a young age, but he was too conspicuous about it, so if the martial artists hiding in the city knew about it, then, it's not gonna be anything good.
He feels better if Victoria keeps her distance from Ethan.
"Wait a minute" Ethan suddenly reached out to stop Shawn talking as if he had heard nothing. He turned to the back of the house and sniffed, "Uncle Clark, did you kiss him? It smells amazing!"
"......"
Shawn was completely dumbfounded.
"It looks like Victoria's culinary skills really aren't bad."
Ethan doesn't take anything Shawn says to heart and can't even be bothered. He pulled the door open and went to the back.
"You…"
Shawn was so angry that he started shaking. "Basic little bastard! Didn't you hear what I said?! YO!"
Victoria's culinary skills are absolutely fantastic.
Diane could not help but eat another bowl and her eyes sparkled.
"I never knew that your culinary skills were this good! So delicious!" Diane was filled with admiration for Victoria. "If my mom finds out, she'll love you so much!"
Compared to Victorian cuisine, Diane felt her cooking was practically inedible.
"If you like, eat more" Victoria laughed. Her mother had died when she was a child, so she had been cooking for the family since a young age. Some simple home cooking is not a challenge for him. "It's been a long time since I last stepped into the kitchen as well."
Shawn secretly taunts and pours a cup of wine for Ethan.
Regardless of whether Ethan drank it or not, Shawn clinks his cup with Ethan's cup and drinks it all at once.
Victoria hasn't cooked for him in a long time.
"The wine is pretty good" Ethan took a sip. "You made this yourself?"
"If not?" Shawn's voice was a little loud. "The others received wine from their children, while I had to make my own!"
He sounded annoyed and angry.
When she was young, Victoria would save up and buy wine for her. But after she wanted to sing and become a singer, the two of them had a big fight and Victoria barely came home.
How could Shawn not be angry?
She only cares about Victoria and is afraid she will be taken advantage of by the bad guys in the entertainment industry. He really only wished he could live well and peacefully, but when those words came out of his mouth, they finally sounded like he was scolding and yelling at him.
So whenever the two of them met, they would part sadly.
Every time Victoria left the house crying, Shawn felt bad and was filled with regret, and he wished he could just slap her mouth. But then when he comes back, the same thing will happen again.
"I received the message. Uncle Clark, you mean I haven't given Victoria enough of a vacation, yet" Ethan laughed and poured himself another cup of wine. He took the cup with both hands and gave Shawn a toast. "Let's just say, in the future, Victoria can go home whenever she wants, she can set her own work schedule."
"Also, Uncle Clark, I can guarantee you that no one in my company would dare to bully him or hurt him. He can pursue his dreams peacefully and nothing will bother him. Everything you worry about will never happen."
Shawn dumbfounded.
"You sure?"
"Not only I am sure. I'm sure you've confirmed it before, right?"
Ethan smiles.
After the sparring session, Shawn knows Ethan's abilities.
Shawn picks up the wine cup and thinks to himself that Ethan is in big trouble and still dares to be so arrogant about it. He will berate Ethan but then he realizes that Ethan is much stronger than he can say, so since Ethan is not worried, he also has nothing to worry about.
He clinks his cup with Ethan's cup and says very firmly, "Alright, alright. I won't bother him about singing anymore. But if I find out that someone bullied my daughter, I'll break your legs!"
He then sipped the entire cup of wine.
After drinking, his eyes were slightly red. He got up and waved while walking out. "I'm full, you can keep eating."
Victoria saw Shawn walking out. His eyes were slightly red and could not help the tears that came out of his eyes.
He knew that Shawn was always watching him. He had hidden his entire stack of posters in the old desk drawer. Does he think he doesn't know about it?
"Uncle Clark is so funny," Diane ate while staring at Victoria. "It's just as sweet as you."
