Tajung Meranti is a small hamlet. It is very far away in the interior. This hamlet only has a walkway that connects it with a more populated village. In this village lived a very simple family of farmers. They had two children, the eldest, a boy, named Dimun and the youngest, a woman named Meterei.
As farmers and fish-seekers, early in the morning they had gone to the river. While taking a bath, they saw the bubu installed yesterday afternoon. Once the fish inside the lathe is taken, the bait is replaced and the bubu is reassembled.
While the mother cooks the food, the father prepares the utensils that will be brought to the garden, such as hoes, machetes, sickles, ropes to tie the large wood, etc, as well as roaring (a type of basket carried by being carried behind and the rope is connected to the head). Husbands and wives are so busy with work that they pay less attention to their children's education. As a result, the children grow and develop themselves nurtured by the environment. Their ethics are bad, the work of others they always scorn. Their job every day is just to play and ask for food. Their behavior always disappoints parents. Their parents felt uneasy and worried thinking about their future.
When the work in the garden was leisure father and mother they looked for bamboo to make woven crafts such as bubu, jousting, and, and baskets for home use or sold on weekdays (markets held approximately 1 week) in the village to increase their shopping money.
On the eve of the weekend, they were so busy working on the matting that they would be sold to the market that they forgot to provide food for their two children. The hungry Dimun and Meterei did not get the services of their parents became angry. They ruined the work of their father and mother. Dimun said to his father and mother, "For what basket, bubu, and peot, will not fill the stomach."
They were angry in their hearts at the mischief of the two children. Many of their damaged works have to be repaired again. It takes time and energy to do that. If not repaired, the merchandise will not sell on the market. Therefore, they also began to improve with a very upset heart.
Meanwhile, Dimun and Meterei's stomach was getting hungry. They started whining for food to their mother, "Mom, eat, we're hungry, we haven't eaten in the morning."
"Go, ask me!" hardik their mother. "Father, we ask for food, very hungry, from the morning have not eaten. "Go, ask your mother!" snapped their father. The two children soon met their mother. They got treated like that again. "Feed your father!" their mother said.
It was so over and over again until the children were upset and sulking. Then they went to the garden behind the house. The garden was not far away, only separated by a cattle pen. In the garden was a stone they called the Kuyung Stone. The stone was about the size of a sitting cow. Dimun and Meterei play there every day. At that time they rode the Kuyung Stone like people riding horses while singing the following song.
Go high, you're the Kuyung Stone
Mom and Dad
With the destiny of the Almighty the stone becomes higher. Dimun back to kick the song earlier and a miracle happened, the stone rose again. And so on until the stone became very high like a wooden tree soaring into the sky. Their parents had already finished repairing the merchandise to be sold. Then they remembered their two children. They called out, "Dimun, Meterei, where are you? Go home, we'll eat together!"
But, there is no answer. The situation in the house remained silent. "Mom, where are our children? Let's go find."
The husband and wife went out to look for Dimun and Meterei to and fro while shouting around the house. They were shocked when they saw the Kuyung Stone towering like a tree behind the house.
When they were astonished to look at the top of the stone, it appeared that Dimun and Meterei were sitting relaxed while continuing to sing the song.
"Hi son, come down. Mom and Dad will feed you!" their father shouted while carrying an axe to cut down the Kuyung Stone.
Their father's efforts were in vain. The stone remained solid, continuing to rise to the rhythm of the song sung by Dimun and Meterei. Their hunger is gone. They feel happy to go up high, see the beautiful view from the top of the Kuyung Stone. The calls of their father and mother who were all their might shouting out were no longer heard. Their father's attempt to cut the stone was not successful, even the axe he used was shattered.
They're out of sense. No one around Batu Kuyung can they ask for his help. Desperately they sat on their knees facing the stone while lamenting their son. They feel sorry why their child's request was not approved.
Eventually, Dimun and Meterei reached the sky with their magical powers disappearing somewhere and never returning. After the two children were taken to the sky, the Kuyung Stone collapsed and hit their house. Dimun's father and mother were rocked to death.
Conclusion: Education has a very important meaning in delivering children to the level of maturity. Knowledge is more valuable than treasure. A lot of knowledge will form a person who is tough, skilled, can live independently, and has a high sense of confidence. Educational success is the responsibility of parents. High-educated child, the understanding is getting better. Like rice science, the more it contains the more it ducks.
