Once upon a time, in Mentok, Bangka Barat, there lived a man named Abang Daud. His work every day only made chaos everywhere, such as stealing and robbing the belongings of others.
One day, Abang Daud waited for the people who brought the produce of his garden to be sold to the market. After a while of waiting, a middle-aged man was carrying a basket of vegetables and fruits.
“Hmmm... This is the one I've been waiting for! I'll take the old man's stuff from behind. He will not know!” muttered Abang Daud.
After some distance the old man passed through his hiding place, Abang Daud secretly followed him while tiptoeing. He was going to take the fruits that were in the basket behind the old man. But without realizing it, it turns out that the old man is a high-scientific silat swordsman, named Long Guan who is famous for calling Apek Long Guan. Many people came to study with him.
Realizing that someone was following him, Apek Long Guan immediately snapped:
“Hai, don't mess around!”
How surprised Abang Daud was to hear the scene, especially when the old man turned to him. It turned out that the old man was Pek Long Guan, a well-respected silat teacher in Mentok.
“Oh, sorry Pek Long! How can Pek Long know that I'm behind Pek Long? Does Pek Long have an inner science?” ask Abang Daud.
“No... No...! I have no science. I was just guessing, and it just so happened that my guess was correct,” replied Pek Long Guan as he continued to pass regardless of Aband Daud.
However, Abang Daud continued to follow him.
“No need to lie, Pek Long! Pek Long must have had some inner knowledge. Please teach me Pek Long!” pinta Abang Daud's.
After several times Abang Daud pleaded, Pek Long Guan admitted that he did have an inner knowledge. He was also willing to teach his knowledge, provided that Abang Daud would meet one condition.
“Alright, Brother David! I am willing to teach you as long as you want to change your behavior that likes to make chaos in this village,” said Pek Long Guan.
“Alright, Long Pack! I promise I will not make a mess again,” Abang Daud promised.
“Then, come tomorrow to home!” pek Long said as he continued his journey to the market.
The next day, early in the morning, Abang Daud went to Pek Long Guan's house. As he entered the grounds of Pek Long Guan's house, it appeared that a number of Pek Long Guan's students were practicing martial arts and mind.
“Wah, it turns out that Pek Long has many students. Why didn't I study for Pek Long?” he murmured with regret.
Seeing the arrival of Abang Daud, Pek Long Guan immediately told him to sit down to be briefed. After that, Abang Daud also trained with other Pek Long Guan disciples. Since then, he has been a disciple of Pek Long Guan. He is an intelligent student and can understand and master the moves taught to him perfectly. No wonder, if Pek Long Guan is very fond of him and willing to give all the knowledge he has.
After mastering all the knowledge provided by Pek Long Guan, Abang Daud said goodbye to his teacher to migrate to the land of Tanah Melayu (Palembang, South Sumatra) to improve his life.
“Thank you, Teacher! The knowledge that the teacher gave me will be used for good,” said Abang Daud.
“I hope so, My disciple,” said Pek Long Guan while telling Abang Daud with a strand of pantun and verse like the following:
o ananda Imanaat, my,
see by you trust advice
hold it with a round heart
may God give you blessings
as the parents say:
before stepping hold the advice
before walking the trust
for the walking child
use science on the commendable
to defend themselves against the country
use the knowledge to the right,
so that the child does not needlessly demand
science is not to be played with
very hesitant to be flagged
science is not wasted, though,
practice by you on virtue
do good to you eternal
please help you first
imitate by you rice science,
the more it becomes filled
After promising to carry out all the advice of his teacher, Abang Daud sailed to Tanah Melayu by boarding a ship owned by Haji Ali from Mentok. During the trip, Haji Ali always gave him advice.
“Okay, Abang Daud! Arriving in Tanah Melayu, you must be clever to keep your mouth, because the customs of the people there are different from our customs in the village,” message Haji Ali.
“What is it, Mr Haji?” asked Abang Daud.
“If you hear a chicken crowing three times in a row instead of in time, don't answer! If you answer it, it means you have fought the custom of the Malay Land. As the punishment, you have to fight against the Commander of the Malay Land,” said Haji Ali.
“Oh, so!” abang Daud said with a smile.
After days of sailing across the vast sea, they arrived in the Malay Land together with the magrib. As they set foot in the harbor, the rooster crows three times in a row. Without realizing it, Abang Daud answered the cock.
“Kokkokkooo...!!!” the voice of Abang Daud.
Apparently, the answer to the cock Abang Daud was heard by the spy King Palembang who was on guard at the Port. The spy immediately reported the matter to the King.
“Ampun, Sire! Servant heard the sound of a rooster that had just docked in port,” the spy reported.
“Supervisor! Look for the roosters from across the country who have dared to challenge the custom of the Malay Land!” the King's orders.
Hearing the order, some of the palace guards immediately headed to the harbor to search for the rooster, and took him to the palace to be confronted with the King. Shortly thereafter, the guards returned with Abang Daud.
“Ampun, Sire! Servant of a nomad from Mentok. People call me Abang Daud. Please forgive me if I have violated the customs of this country!” Abang Daud pleaded with the King of Palembang while paying his respects.
“Originally you know, Abang Daud! Whoever violates the customs of this country, then he must receive punishment, which is fighting against the Commander of the Malay Land,” said King Palembang.
“Ampun, Sire! I am willing to accept this punishment. But, give the servant three days to recover the energy first. Slave was very tired after days of sailing bobbing in the middle of the sea,” pinta Abang Daud.
After negotiating with his commander, the King complied with Abang Daud's request. While waiting for the day of the fight to arrive, Abang Daud stayed at the house of Haji Ali. So that Abang Daud did not escape back to his country in Mentok, King Palembang sent some of his guards to guard around the house of Haji Ali.
In the evening, after dinner, the captain of the ship had a conversation with Abang Daud.
“Hai, Abang Daud! I have counseled you many times, but you still violate the customs of this country. Finally, you accept the consequences yourself,” said Haji Ali.
“Not to worry, Mr Haji! Hopefully I can solve this problem myself. I apologize if I have inconvenienced Mr. Haji,” said Abang Daud calmly.
On the appointed day, Abang Daud came to the King to keep his promise. Not to forget also Haji Ali along with other Mentok residents took part in the Palembang Kingdom palace to watch the fight. As Mentok's fellow men, they always gave encouragement and support to Abang Daud to survive death.
When Abang Daud's entourage entered the palace grounds, it appeared that the entire palace family and the King's guards had packed around the prepared battle arena. Occasionally there were mocking sounds from the audience who underestimated Abang Daud's ability.
“Ah, that guy came here just to deliver a life. He will definitely die lying on the arena against the Commander of the Malay Land,” said a bodyguard.
Meanwhile, when he saw the arrival of Abang Daud, King Palembang immediately ordered his hulubang to provide various types of weapons and had Abang Daud choose the weapons he wanted. But Abang Daud refused the offer.
“Ampun, Sire! Servants are not used to using weapons in fighting, except this chicken spurs,” Abang Daud said while showing his chicken spurs.
“Alright, if that's your spit. The fight will begin soon. Are you ready, Abang Daud?” asked King Palembang to convince Abang Daud.
“Hamba ready, Sire!” abang Daud replied as he walked towards the arena that had been provided in the palace courtyard.
When the two fighters were above the arena, Raja Haji and his entourage from Mentok grew increasingly anxious about watching the fight. Another case with the entire community of Tanah Melayu, they cheered happily while continuing to denigrate Abang Daud. They were convinced that their commander would win the fight.
“Hai, Abang Daud! Pray before your life drifts!” chirps one of the spectators from Tanah Melayu.
“Yes, Brother David! Order the people of Mentok before you die in vain at the hands of our Commander!” added another spectator from Tanah Melayu.
Abang Daud only smiled at the ridicule thrown at him. A few moments later, the fight began. The commander of Tanah Melayu started the fight by first attacking, while Abang Daud only fended off and avoided attacks that came in a row. Many times the Commander of the Malay Land launched an attack, many times Abang Daud could convolve and avoid it. When he saw the Commander of the Malay Land began to fatigue, Abang Daud turned to attack. With just a few steps, Abang Daud managed to stick his chicken spurs right on the left side of the Commander of Malay Land. At that moment, the commander of the pride of the Malay Land fell unconscious.
The entire community of Tanah Melayu who witnessed the fight was shocked, especially King Palembang. The King really never thought before that Abang Daud was a very powerful and powerful warrior. While the people of Mentok who were originally only silent shrouded in anxious feelings, suddenly shouted in excitement to see the victory of warriors who came from their homeland. As a wise and wise King, King Palembang also appointed Abang Daud to be the Commander of the Malay Land with the title of Commander of the Wind.
Since then, the Commander of Malay Land from Mentok lived in the palace of the Kingdom of Palembang with a luxurious life. His name is getting more famous to various countries. It is highly respected by the people of Tanah Melayu. Apparently, his rank, position, and fame made him forget himself, his illness began to recur again. He always makes a mess everywhere. The king of Palembang could do nothing.
Once upon a time, Abang Daud, who had the title of Commander of the Wind, returned to his hometown. In his village, the behavior of the Commander of the Wind is increasingly becoming so, so that the Mentok community becomes restless. Hearing the news, Tumenggung Mentok immediately ordered residents to arrest him. However, none of the citizens were able to defeat his magic.
“What should we do Stirring?” asked a worried resident at a village meeting.
“Hmmm. I think the only person who can catch Abang Daud is his own teacher. Do you know who Abang Daud's teacher was?” Tumenggung Mentok asked the residents.
“Hai, didn't he study for Pek Long Guan?” sahut a citizen.
“True, Thumenggung! He was a colleague of mine first,” added another resident.
Finally, some of the citizens immediately called out to Pek Long Guan. Not long after, Abang Daud's teacher came to the village meeting.
“Sorry, ladies and gentlemen! Actually, I was hesitant to be able to catch Abang Daud, because I have given all my knowledge to him,” said Pek Long Guan.
After being urged by the citizens, Pek Long Guan was willing to help and immediately sought the sense to be able to defeat the magic of his students. At that moment, he suddenly remembered the weakness of Abang Daud. Abang Daud once told him that he could not swim. Therefore, he would persuade her to accompany him to fetch water in the river. At that time, he will push Abang Daud into the river.
The next day, Pek Long Guan went to see Abang Daud. However, before inviting him to the river, he tried to persuade and advise his favorite disciple again.
o Ananda hear trust, O you,
if life holds a representative
if you die, hold manat
hold the advice with trust
hold the point with his teaching
o son, hear the trust, and,
remember you walk
don't listen to the devil's persuasion
lust don't share
help of Allah begs
your heart is walking
trust not to forget
teach not to ignore
the science in the chest hold fast
Getting advice from his teacher, Abang Daud not to thank, but rather to curse his teacher.
“Stop all your bullshit, Old Man! I'm sick of all your advice!” abang Daud.
“Alright, Disciple! It's okay if you don't want to hear my advice anymore. But I have one last request from you. Will you help me get some water in the river? The water supply for cooking and bathing in my house is exhausted,” pinta Pek Long Guan.
Apparently, Abang Daud knew the ruse of Pek Long Guan. He was looking for a way to kill his teacher.
“I'm willing to help you, Old Man! But, you must walk in front of me,” said Abang Daud.
Finally, they went to the river together. Pek Long Guan walked in front, while Abang Daud followed him from behind. Arriving at the riverbank, Pek Long was slightly off guard. Abang Daud did not waste his chance. He kicked the old man's buttocks and rolled on the ground. Due to having high magic, Pek Long Guan was not dead yet. He also tried to get up while enduring the pain.
”Basic student of insubordination! Until your heart does so to your teacher,” said Pek Long Guan in annoyance.
With the remaining energy he had, Apek Long Guan tried to put up a fight. He unleashed all his silat abilities. When Abang Daud was caught off guard, he threw a hard kick and hit the nape of his disciple. Abang Daud was thrown into the river and drowned. Finally, the ungodly disciple met his end.
