Chapters 27. Siding with Others

For a moment forget Ethan's happiness. Will's latest news is he's reluctant to marry Wileen. Although Wileen has tried thousands of ways, but Will did not budge even once.

Will does not know if Ethan is secretly preparing for the engagement. Will's cell phone number has been blocked by Olivette because she no longer wants to be in touch with Will.

Like this morning in his study, Will felt something was missing. Parting with Olivette made her life empty and not passionate at all.

"Good morning, sir! You should make a working visit to the hotel. Um, I mean you have to meet a client at the Novotel Zurich hotel."

"Good, Paul. Prepare all the files!"

Will wouldn't have expected this afternoon to meet Ethan. The man was also heading to the Novotel hotel to make a reservation with his mother, Clara.

"So, Mr Zion purposely made you wait so long?" ask Clara who keeps repeating her son's story while in the car.

"Yes, Ma. Apparently Mr. Zion has a special reason for that."

"Because her daughter is twinned and one of them is gone. Ethan, Mama can't imagine that they're both alive. Olivette's been that perfect, what about Olivia?"

Surely Olivia is no less beautiful than her sister, Olivette. Honey, fate called him first until Zion had such a drastic change in attitude.

"I'm instead imagining having twins with Olivette, Ma. Mama will love it."

Clara's greatest desire is still around grandchildren and the atmosphere of the mansion is so quiet.

"Of course, Ethan. Twins two and so on. Mama will be very happy surrounded by babies with faces that are so similar. Ah, I can't wait, Ethan!"

After arriving at the hotel, a parking valet took his car to the parking lot. Ethan and Clara quickly enter the hotel and meet the receptionist.

"Can I make a ballroom reservation for next week?" ask Clara.

"Wait, Madam! We will meet with the manager. You can make a reservation directly."

It was expected, this would definitely take a long time just to make a reservation. Knows so much better that Bella makes the reservation.

Waiting for a moment for Ethan to get bored. He tried to divert the atmosphere to choose to go to the hotel restaurant above. So, Ethan and Clara have to take an elevator to get there.

Ethan was about to break into the restaurant, but accidentally someone hit him with some files until some paper fell off.

"Sorry, Sir. I was completely unintentional" said Paul, Will's personal assistant.

"Paul, how are you? Clean up that file and don't swap it!" will's orders don't realize that his assistant hit Ethan.

"Mr Will!" hello Ethan.

Will just looked at the source of the sound. The man in front of her is her ex-husband, Wileen.

"Oh, Mr. Ethan. How are you doing? So long ago we just met again, didn't we?" ask Will.

"Ethan, who is he?" whispered Clara.

"Olivette's ex-husband, Ma," replied Ethan.

"Oh, is your name Mr Will?"

"Yes, Madam. You who?" ask Will.

"Clara, Ethan's mother."

Clara observed Will from head to toe. Actually not a bad man according to his eyes, but when you remember Wileen's betrayal, Clara felt very eager to swear rudely.

"Tumben you're here, Mister?" search Will.

"Gee, congratulations, sir! Soon you'll be ending your widower years, yeah."

"Yes, Sir. Thank ye. Then, what about you? Is he married again?"

Actually Ethan hopes to get an answer from Will, but Paul tells him that his client has arrived.

"Sorry, Sir. Next time we talk again. I'm in a hurry" Will said.

"Don't forget to come to my son's engagement, sir!" order Clara before Will leaves.

"Okay, Madam."

They separate themselves. Ethan and Clara sit down to order food and drinks.

"Ma, why did you invite her?" ask Ethan.

"Mama just told me, Ethan. So that he knows what it feels like to be happy on top of what other people's suffering is like," explains Clara very satisfied.

"Hemm, it's up to Mama. I don't think Olivette would have liked Will to have been at the engagement party."

It was said because Olivette's parents must have been there. Ethan doesn't want to ruin the happiness of his engagement party.

"Let mama talk to him."

While Will feels something is wrong with Ethan. Before starting a meeting with his client, Will was curious about Ethan. He felt that Ethan was too soon to get a replacement for Wileen. While Will himself has not given any certainty to his lover.

"Who's the lucky lady? Do I know him?" speak Inner Will.

Paul nudged his boss' arm because the client had asked to start his meeting.

"Ah, sorry, Paul. I was thinking something. Sorry," said Will.

Will began his meeting and then explained the details of the collaboration they would do. After getting the overall explanation, the client decided to sign a cooperation contract. After that, the client said goodbye first because he would attend meetings elsewhere again.

"Sir, what is really on your mind? I think you look uncomfortable when you meet this guy" Paul said.

"The man was her ex-husband Wileen."

It was as if something uncomfortable was happening between the two. Paul regrets the breakup between Will and Olivette. However, how else, the boss was the one who betrayed.

"Looks like he's about to end his youth, sir. Then, when are you? Isn't Miss Wileen alone, too? Wait especially?" ask Paul.

"I don't care, Paul. Even if he ends his youth, I certainly hope not to marry the woman I know."

Will's point is not to let Ethan marry Olivette. I hope Ethan marries another woman. Then Will will feel like winning has Wileen, Ethan's ex-wife.

That expectation was inversely proportional to Paul's thought. Instead, his assistant hopes that the woman Ethan marries is Olivette, his boss's ex-wife. So Will can understand how the pain when the person who was betrayed was happy with another man.

"The universe will go as it should, sir. You can't order fate for someone else. So too with you. You'd rather maintain a relationship with Mrs Wileen. That's what's hurting Mrs Olivette's heart and feelings. Even if in the end Mrs Olivette is happy, it's worth the injury you've inflicted, sir."

Sometimes his assistant was such a close friend. Sometimes Will feels that Paul is very far from his personal assistant who is more on the side of others than him. Paul's words were right. Because of her behavior, Olivette had to separate. However, would Will be willing if the woman who had been a part of his life for 6 years would marry another man?
