Chapter 69. Strange Attitude Clara

The message Ethan receives is the meeting schedule Bella sends. His secretary had almost forgotten his boss's busy schedule for tomorrow.

"Alright, Bella. I'm ready for tomorrow's meeting. Tonight I want to accompany Meriel and Maribel in her room."

When Ethan decides to stay in his daughter's room, his two baby sitters have to sleep in each other's rooms. Although later Ethan will experience difficulties, he lived it so painstakingly.

The next morning, Ethan looks very sleepy as he returns to his room. He saw Olivette was awake then gave a morning smile.

"Good morning, dear. How was your night?" ask Olivette.

"I'm good. They were fussy. I intended to take her to your room to breastfeed, but I could not bear to wake you up. I had to ask the baby sitter to prepare the milk bottle."

Olivette looked very sorry. He shouldn't have fallen asleep very fast. Besides being tired, he was also sleepy.

"I'm sorry, Ethan. You should have woken me up! Don't make me regret not being able to give what should be the rights of Meriel and Maribel."

Olivette's face looked lethargic. His regret is so deep. Ethan could not see the sadness.

"alright. From tonight, the two baby boxes will be in our rooms. I promise!"

Ethan's hurrying to get ready. He had to go to the office earlier than before. When she finished, she returned to the room with her new, very neat appearance.

"Darling, you have to go with the driver. I don't want you driving your car alone" Olivette explained.

"You don't worry, honey. I've thought of everything."

Olivette looks so beautiful. He cleaned himself up the morning before Ethan went back to his room. After this, they will have breakfast together.

Ethan's parents-in-law are back at the hotel. They will stay for a few days until the celebration is made.

"Good morning! How was your night?" ask Clara.

"Okay, Ma" replied Olivette.

As they prepared for breakfast, suddenly one of the baby sitters who used to take care of Maribel came. Maribel was a little fussy this morning.

"Sorry, Madam. Baby Maribel crying. I've tried to calm down, keep crying."

"Hemm, wait. I'll be there" said Olivette.

"Go, Honey. Later mama will ask the maid to deliver food there," said Clara.

Being at the dinner table alone with Ethan makes Clara want to talk about important things. A few days had already held him back, but this was the perfect time.

"Ethan, mama wants to talk to you."

Ethan looked up, looked at his mother, then continued his morning breakfast.

"Say, Ma!"

Clara took a deep breath and then exhaled. After that Clara tried to make peace with the situation. Although he was happy, but there was a little feeling that stuck.

"You don't want anything more than this?"

Ethan doesn't understand what his mother said. For a moment he put down the cutlery then looked fixedly at Clara.

"Mom knows this is a little heavy. But my mom needs to tell you this. I know Meriel and Maribel have caught your attention. Don't you want a boy?" lirih Clara's.

Although this conversation was only alone with the mother, but ended with the claim that Clara really wanted a grandson.

"Ma, how many times has Ethan said. Men or women are the same. I will educate both of my daughters to be successors of the company. Mama don't worry."

Along the way to the office, Ethan is silent. He was sitting in the passenger seat because he was not alone. There was a driver who drove him. Ethan resuscitated his body, closed his eyes, then thought of something.

"I don't understand. Why did my mom suddenly change? Didn't you agree to accept our two baby girls?" say the inner Ethan.

Ethan thinks something's happened. He intended to investigate it while having some free time. Arriving at the office, Ethan was immediately greeted with several important meetings with Bella.

"Sir, you don't look well" Bella said after being in Ethan's room.

The long meeting is over. Now it's your turn to relax to reveal all the heartbreak. Bella is always open about these issues.

"You're right, Bella. I'm thinking about what mom said."

Bella sat right in front of him. He tried to guess what he said. Some sort of thing that makes everyone curious or maybe a time bomb ready to explode.

"Have something strange happened, sir?"

Ethan nodded. "Yes. Suddenly my mom asked me about a baby boy. I felt bad, but Olivette had just given birth to two baby girls. It shouldn't be a serious matter."

Actually different people look different. Maybe for Ethan or Olivette, two girls are not a problem. In reality for Clara, there had to be one boy in her son's household. Like a must, but it sounds very uncomfortable.

"Actually for everyone it doesn't matter, sir. However, to Madame Clara, it might seem like a necessity. It doesn't matter if you have a daughter. Later, a few more years try the pregnancy program. I wish I could have a baby boy."

It's easy to say, but for Ethan it's not like that. She is very grateful to have two baby girls at her age who are no longer young.

When the conversation isn't over, Vincent calls Ethan. Ethan asks Bella to get out of her room by giving her a code.

"Sorry" Ethan said to his secretary.

Bella understands. The master needs privacy when he receives a call.

"Hi, Vincent! How are you?" hello Ethan.

"I'm good, Ethan. How are you?" Vincent smiled.

"I'm good too, Vincent. Oh yeah, when's Grace gonna give birth?" Ethan can't wait to see their little baby.

"Live a few more weeks, Ethan. Hope everything is good. You don't look excited. What's up?"

"Mom, Vincent. He expects a baby boy from us."

Silent moment. Vincent can't interfere in that business. The baby will be a boy. It would be unfair if Vincent tried to give advice.

"Patience, Ethan. Wait a few years. Try another pregnancy program. Good luck." That's Vincent's only words.

While at the mansion, Olivette was chatting with her mother-in-law. Clara's change of attitude made Olivette unwell. Wanted to ask, but Clara looked uncomfortable. Olivette decided to shut up.

"Doctors say, when can you do another pregnancy program?" clara asked breaking the silence.

Olivette had already thought about this. After the birth of her two twins, she had no intention of getting pregnant again. Olivette wants to focus on raising her two twins.

"We haven't consulted, Ma. What's up?"

"Mama wishes you could do another pregnancy program. Try to have a boy!" Clara moved from her seat to go to her room.

Olivette took a deep breath and then exhaled. Something was strange about her mother-in-law.

"Is it because of this that Ethan forgot to say goodbye to me?" lirih Olivette's.
