"The philandering! Please get me a basket in the kitchen!"
Shouted an old mother calling out to Filda.
"Yes for a moment" answered Filda who was in a kitchen.
The kitchen is pretty dirty with some black charred stains.
Some parts of this kitchen are still messy because some children play here looking for food in a mess.
Filda was in an orphanage near the White Temple.
This orphanage shelter was quite large but some of its parts were damaged due to wind and rain. But take it easy the villagers have fixed some parts of it.
Filda then took a wooden basket and walked out of the kitchen.
"Sister Filda! Please read this fairy tale book!" , Shouted a child calling Filda with a happy face.
"Let's go. I won't help Aunt Mordhe." said Filda softly.
"All right! Then read ya!" said the boy a little jump of fun.
"Let's just calm down" said Filda who then continued walking with her basket.
In her heart Filda was happy and warm, seeing children who were suffering as they were happy.
I don't know what kind of suffering they faced before coming to this white temple that housed these orphans.
Most of them were victims of the war where their parents died on the battlefield while some came from other villages that were looted.
Then Filda opened the exit to meet the old mothers who had called her.
A bright sunlight lay before him as he opened the door.
*Hanno and I survived not on the road? May the Lord of light protect them.*, thought Filda with a little worry in her heart.
"Oi Filda don't look! Come here! Help me hang these clothes!" said Aunt Mordhe from afar.
It appears that Aunt Mordhe hung some of the other orphaned children's clothes.
"ah! Uh! Yes!" said Filda who then walked towards Aunt Mordhe quickly.
Then Aunt Mordhe quickly took the basket in Filda's hand.
"For the sake of the Light-bearer, you are slow to take" said Aunt Mordhe.
"I-I'm sorry bi.." said Filda in fear.
"Udah help me! Hurry!" said Aunt Mordhe.
"ah! Alright!" said Filda.
Filda then helped hang some clothes and took some of the cloth that had dried her basket.
The light of the sun shining brightly today makes the day more beautiful.
The white temple became brighter and some old parts of its damaged infrastructure were visible.
The white temple is now a temple built from the ruins of an old temple.
Even some parts of this White Temple were part of the already collapsed Lightning God Temple.
"You are contemplating on, just calm down your father who once drowned alone and brought a wild boar of 4 cows to sell to the village. I'm going to kill myself he's going to die against bandits on the street from Ballerius" said Aunt Mordhe as she picked up her dried-up clothespins.
*Auntie is right.I shouldn't worry, everything will be fine. But I feel like something bad is coming.* , thought Filda
"Ck! Fucking shit! This bedwetting shit! It's hard to wash!" ' said Aunt Mordhe in annoyance as she looked at the slightly faded brown clothes that had been washed many times.
"Name also bi children, they like bedwetting. Patience to the master of light will command us to be patient in every situation" said Filda softly.
"Hahh.you may be patient, but I am not. How many times do you think I've washed these clothes, but they haven't lost their shit!" said Aunt Mordhe, sitting exhausted on the ground.
"Prophey bi.." , said Filda softly.
"Heh patiently, I am tired of Filda working continuously from this morning taking care of the children. I'm old, don't order me to be patient as if you know what it is to live in old age" said Aunt Mordhe.
Filda smiled as she looked at the grass on the ground and sat down beside Aunt Mordhe.
"Good yes this world.I am truly grateful, the master of light made this world.." said Filda.
"War is relentless and hundreds of people are losing their families, hunger and poverty everywhere. I'm so grateful" said Aunt Mordhe.
"Auntie!" said Filda in an annoyed tone.
Sometimes Filda wondered if Aunt Mordhe was the priestess of the light or not, because Aunt Mordhe sometimes did not reflect the attitude of the priest.
But sometimes Filda sees Aunt Mordhe praying for something, Aunt Mordhe herself a pessimist and not so much a priest. But it was Aunt Mordhe who mostly picked up orphans in this temple and even helped finance the construction of this white temple.
"You love to contemplate.certainly think of something.." said Aunt Mordhe looking at Filda with a cynical look.
"Ehh..?" said Filda confused with Aunt Mordhe.
"You're thinking about that kid you said was hanging around in your house, huh? What's her name Hann? Hanna's? Hannie's? I don't remember" said Aunt Mordhe.
"Hanno bi.." said Filda with her face then flushed red.
"You're in love with that kid" said Aunt Mordhe.
"No! I didn't! I'm.no." said Filda with her face still red.
"Yes you're in love with her, don't think I don't know son. I've also been in love and know the face of someone who's in love" said Aunt Mordhe.
"I can't fall in love, can I not be the pastor of the light?.I can't marry or have children.." ' said Filda.
"You haven't made the priest's vows, you can get out of the priest and move on with that kid named Hanno" said Aunt Mordhe.
"I can't.I've been aiming to be a priest since I was a child." said Filda.
"Then decide, I can't force you because you're a young man. Young people should be able to make their own decisions" said Aunt Mordhe as she lifted her basket filled with dry clothes.
Aunt Mordhe then stood up and walked over.
"May I ask you something?.Have you ever regretted being a priest?" said Filda.
Aunt Mordhe turned to look at Filda, with a cynical look she looked at Filda.
"Bright but only for a little while, because Auntie chose the right time and age to be a priest. You don't need to be a priest to be a faithful servant of the master of light, you can be a faithful servant of the master of light despite being married and having children. Just teach your son and husband the light master's teachings, you can still visit this temple even though you have children" said Aunt Mordhe while looking at Filda.
Filda felt doubt in her heart, she wanted to make a decision but her heart was cut in two. One side with his love and one side with his trust.
"Make your decision"
Said Aunt Mordhe as she walked away from Filda and entered the temple.
The further away Aunt Mordhe went, the more Filda's mind grew and more divided.
He didn't know which choice he would make.
"Filr!"
Shouts someone calling him.
Then a teenage girl was seen running towards him.
"Filda!" said the woman, hugging Filda quickly.
He immediately hugged Filda, making the unprepared Filda immediately feel shocked and in pain.
Filda almost fell down but managed to hold it.
"Yearah! It hurts!" said Filda.
"I miss you a long time ago you didn't come to the village a few weeks ago" Yiara said in a cute voice.
Yiara is a childhood friend, a wild woman who has no female behavior. But have a plain and pleasant heart. Although sometimes upset.
"It hurts Yiara.don't.." said Filda in pain.
"Sorry.I miss you too much, after all your father forbade me to visit your house again." Yiara said in a sad tone like a child.
"Who told me to steal my father's venison like a thief?" said Filda.
Yiara once stole grilled venison from Filda's father out of hunger. The father of Filda was angry because of that and every time Yiara came to the house of Filda, the father of Filda ran after him with an axe in his hand.
"Oi! Yira! Don't bother Filda! Let Filda do her job!" said Aunt Mordhe from afar shouting.
"No, not the bik! I was just playing for a while!" Yiara replied.
"You're! Hahh.." said Aunt Mordhe while looking to sigh and go away towards the white temple.
*Wait a minute I remember the child.kids.I need to read the children the story first*, thought Filda in her heart.
"Udah Yiara, I want to go to the children first" said Filda.
But then Filda realized that something had a smell that Filda recognized as being smelled on Yiara's body.
"You smell of wood powder, what did you do to wake up?" asked Filda.
"I just helped my father build a new god statue in the middle of the city!" said Yiara cheerfully.
"Oi Filda! The kids haven't had lunch yet! Put the clothes on there! I'll do it!" said Aunt Mordhe, shouting from afar.
*Not..not reading stories first.they haven't had lunch*, thought Filda in her heart.
"Yes aunt! Sorry Yiara.can you please let go.I want to go to the children first" said Filda while trying to release Yiara's embrace.
"All right! I let go!" said Yiara who immediately took off her embrace.
Filda stood up and walked into the orphanage.
"How are the children of Filda?" asked the cheerful smiling Yiara.
"Well, they can eat well. Also thanks to your father, the roof is very good so it does not leak again" said Filda smilingly walking and then touching the door of the orphanage shelter back.
"Good, father worked well to build his roof" Yiara said, closing his hands with happy eyes.
*Treek*
The sound of the door sliding sounded.
Filda opened the door and walked into the orphanage with Yiara behind her.
"How's your dad doing? He's going to Ballerius again? Oh yes did he go with that child named Hanno?" Yiara asked all things quickly.
Filda's face turned red, she wanted to stop thinking about Hanno for a moment.
"B-can you please don't talk about Hanno and be quiet for a moment?" said Filda with slight annoyance.
"All right! I'll shut up!" Yiara said as she played a game.
The more he entered this place. And the room where the room plays together is seen in front of him.
Noise is heard.
The jokes, laughter, anger, and footsteps of the children filled the entire hallway that Filda stepped on.
"Pursue me!"
"I'm the hero!"
"Centaurus and Orcs are coming!"
"I'm a great witch from the Holy Island of Cyronia!"
Dozens of children played and moved like caterpillars growing hands and feet in front of them.
Some books were scattered on the floor while some boys played wooden swords, some played wooden dolls replica of deer and owls.
Girls sit and look at the painting in the book despite not being able to read the writing, some girls even play catch up with boys.
"Sisters! Sit neat! We want to get ready to eat!" said Filda loudly and gently.
Then all the children's gazes turned towards Filda.
"Don't you want to read the story?" said the boy who asked Filda to read him a story.
"Yes...Malla..but Malla must eat first.." said Filda smiled gently.
"Aishhh.." , said Malla sulking.
"Who's behind his son Orc!"
Shouted the children as they ran towards the dining room.
"Kids! Be careful!" said Filda warning the children.
All the children ran quickly towards the dining room with vigor. Only one of the children did not run fast and looked uninspired because of sulking.
The boy who was about to be read the story by Filda was called Malla. But Filda wants the kids to have lunch before they play.
"Come here..Malla don't sulk.." ' said Filda while holding Malla's shoulder.
Filda then led Malla and the children to the kitchen with Yiara.
Yiara also seems to want to sit down to eat, because she likes to play with children who sometimes have the same nature as her.
"Ehh! It is good to be independent Riama! Bring your own plate without being told! Clever!" said Filda smiling sweetly as she touched the cheek of one of the girls.
The girl called Riama then blushed her face because she was praised by Filda.
The children then all prepared to sit on the table, while Filda took a large basin of wheat porridge donated by some farmers to this orphaned place in the closet.
He also took a plate and a spoon.
"Yiara please bring me a few glasses" said Filda.
"Good! Fine!" said Yiara who then moved to take a few glasses.
Some kids play at the table and even fight.
"Eh Walda and Hada! No fighting! Sit quietly because we want to eat!" said Filda.
The plates and spoons are then distributed to the children.
Some of the children were happy and joking with their friends.
"Filda!" , Aunt Mordhe's cry sounded from afar.
His hard footsteps began to be heard entering the dining room where Filda and the children were.
Aunt Mordhe then appeared in front of the dining room.
"What's the bik?" said Filda politely.
"That's your father looking in front of the temple" said Aunt Mordhe.
"Dad? Thank you, master of light, for blessing me.." said Filda, holding her hand on her chest in gratitude.
"Udah, quickly visit your father later he broke this temple again like last year" said Aunt Mordhe.
"Well buk..kids? Lunch even though there is no sister, oh yes Yiara! Please help them eat! Play with them!" said Filda who then stepped quickly.
He then walked down the hall quickly. Behind him left Aunt Mordhe and Yiara accompanying the children.
"Come on! The one who wins panco with brother can have an extra spoonful of porridge!"
Yiara's cry was heard far away, her happy voice and her cheer were heard.
Filda just taught him that and let him. Filda walked through several rooms in this temple.
*It's been 4 days.4 long and fast days, Hanno and Dad.4 days passed quickly.Eventually they arrived safely*, thought Filda in her heart.
Soon he arrived in front of the white temple.
Seen before him, his father and Hanno stood with their merchant car behind them both.
He then approached walking towards the two of them and hugged his father quickly.
Her father also opened his arms and was seen welcoming Filda's embrace.
*Pak*
*The smell is still the same, the smell of alcohol and sweat but the smell of street dust is also mixed*, thought Filda while hugging her Father.
Filda then turned her gaze to Hanno who looked fine and normal as usual.
His face was just a little dusty and dry. Sweat was also seen on the faces of Hanno and Father Filda.
"Udah! I finished the hug! Come home! My eyes are short-sighted and I see this disgusting temple!" said Father Filda.
"Dad!" said Filda in annoyance.
"Udah! I'm tired already! I'm gonna take the old fucking lady's cloth home!" said Filda's father.
The son and father seemed to be fighting again, for some it was natural especially those who knew Guslau for many years.
The few cultivators and the people who saw the two of them could only laugh.
"Hanno!" said Jean with a happy smile.
He hugged Hanno tightly from behind and Hanno's hair touched his chest.
"Today is a beautiful day for me, Hanno! Fufu.but baby.we parted again when I wanted to spend time with you.." Jean said in a mischievous tone while hugging Hanno and stroking her head.
"You!" said Filda, who separated the two.
Filda then held Hanno's shoulder quickly and pulled Hanno towards her.
Jean just smiled and laughed a little while away from Filda.
"Fufu..why son? You're jealous?" said Jean, smiling slyly.
"Shut up! Let's go daddy let's go home!" said Filda who ignored Jean's taunts and immediately stepped away pulling Hanno.
"Hanno we will meet again, but maybe not in a gentle way" Jean chuckled.
Filda's father boarded the train, Hanno and Filda also boarded later.
"Oi have you boarded?" said Father Filda, looking back at his chariot.
"Father's Dad" said Filda.
"Good, now I'm going to deliver the friggin' granny's order. We just got home" said Father Filda.
The horse whips swayed and the horse-drawn carriage the three of them moved through the peaceful rural streets.
Some farmers walked, some brought grass to feed their animals.
There is a statue of a new god in the streets of this village, some people seem to put meat or food under his feet.
But among other activities the people were seen a group of people who were praying and shouting the loudest.
"Hero from another world has come!" shouted a thunder god priest.
"This is a sign that the Demon King has come! Let us draw near to God and repent!"
The screams kept sounding, disturbing maybe but people just let it go. Because Victa people usually tolerate other religions and do not care much about something noisy.
The original Victa god had a more noisy ceremony in which 9 pigs were beaten and left screaming loudly. The loudest scream will be sacrificed to God.
"Hero from another world?" said Father Filda.
"It's just Guslau's fake stuff, you think those heroes and demon kings really exist? Only a thousand-year-old legend" said a father who approached Filda's father.
"Hero..is this a sign from the master of light?" said Filda.
"Ck, you start again Filda" said Father Filda.
"I hope it's just a fake hero, if the demon lord does come then we're done" the fathers said.
"And all our customers will disappear" said Father Filda.
"Hahahahaha" ,laughter the fathers.
The train kept moving and the father was left behind with his laughter.
While the train moves. Filda felt worry and fear rising within her.
"There are only people today.false heroes.pfff...even I can make better lies" said Filda's father laughing while drinking a bag of wine.
*Was this worry and feeling of danger coming.is the demon lord's omen really coming?* ,thought Filda.
Filda felt fear and worry inside her but the fear grew when she saw Hanno's face.
Hanno's empty and frightening eyes widened, looking like she was completely shocked. A view that Filda had not seen in the 4 months she lived with herself.
"Ha-Hanno? W-what's the matter?" said Filda nervously.
Hanno turned her gaze towards Filda. For a moment the fear enveloped Filda's body, this time the fear was greater.
Hanno's eyes are always weird, empty, and scary. Sometimes his eyes seem to know everything. Her silence was always frightening but her eyes added to her fear more than anything else.
"No.." said Hanno.
His eyes returned as usual to empty eyes and looked as if he had no emotions as usual.
"Oh yeah.." ' said Hanno.
Then Hanno is seen picking something from her clothes.
"This.." ' he said in his inner voice.
Hanno's voice was soft, deep, and there was a loud sound inside like a sword falling into the sea.
In Hanno's hands, he presented a rose frozen in a glass.
Those are the only words that Filda can describe for a frozen rose in this glass.
Filda's face was flushed more than before, a soft and happy feeling seethed from within her heart.
A moment of warmth enveloped his heart.
"I-this..gift..for me?" said Filda in her heart.
"Yes" Hanno said briefly.
"So that's it.." said Filda who then touched the glass containing the frozen rose.
*I've decided that I won't mention the priest's oath.*, thought Filda with a deeper warm feeling.
"Thank you." - Filda said with a gentle smile.
.
.
.
"Oi fucking mothers!" said Father Filda while taking something from the car and throwing it into the face of a mother who was in front of her house.
"You son of a whore! Why did you throw it in my face!?" said the mothers.
"Dissipated! You asked yourself to buy the cloth from the town of Ballerius! That's what I bought! Where is the reward money!" said Father Filda.
"Patience first! I'd like to call my nephew...A salena!! Oi Salena!!" said the old mothers to someone in their house.
"What a bi!!" , a female voice sounded from inside the house
"Take me a bag of silver money on top of the cupboard!" said the old mothers.
Then the sound of footsteps rang out and a woman came out of the house while breaking down the door.
"Nih!" said the woman while throwing her at the mothers.
"You're not being polite! You are so different from your kind mother!" said the mothers.
The niece of the mothers ignored him and then returned to her house.
Then the old mothers calculate how much money they have saved and tie back the bag.
"The money!" said the mothers, throwing a bag of silver coins at Father Filda's face.
"Akhhh.sore stupid my nose!" said Father Filda while holding his nose which was hit by a silver bag toss hard.
"Dissipated! You asked for your silver coins! Now go!" said the mothers.
Filda just smiled almost laughed. Looks like Filda has a lot of fun today.
Hanno even smiled a little on her face.
But at that time the four of them except Hanno sensed something of impending danger within them..
And they don't know when and where it is..
