I Love You, Uncle

I Love You, Uncle
Chapter 11

Ansel turned his shoulders. “Nothing,” answered then got up. “Ridwan, do not forget to contact the finance department to immediately send financial statements this week. Don't be late again like that time.”

Ridwan shook his head, realizing that Ansel was trying to divert their conversation. “Clara still not home?” guess the guy.

“Why even discuss Clara?” ansel asked while narrowing his eyes.

“There is indeed something else that can keep you from concentrating on working other than Clara?” Ridwan walked over to Ansel, then patted the man on the shoulder. “If you really miss Clara, why don't you just meet her?”

Ansel. “What are you talking about? Don't fret! Why I miss Clara. He has chosen to live independently. I'm just worried if he's why-why,” reply Ansel.

“Still not willing to confess?” Ridwan shook his head, surprised by Ansel who was still reluctant to admit what he felt. Ansel seemed to be not kapok because he had separated from Clara. “Remember, Ansel. Too high prestige can torment you.”

“What's prestigious, anyway? Already, you better quickly go to ask for a financial report than to speak vaguely like this,” said Ansel then walked away leaving Ridwan who could only laugh crisply because of his attitude.

After entering her study, Ansel looked back at her phone screen. The man is upset because Clara's status is currently online, but Clara does not read the short message she sent.

Ansel decided to call the girl, thinking it was possible that Clara did not see the short message. However, Ansel's call is also ignored by Clara.

“What do you really want, Clara?” grouse Ansel.

Being constantly ignored, Ansel chooses to go to see Clara. The man just drove his car straight to Clara's parents' residence without caring about his piling up work. Ansel doesn't care if tomorrow morning Ridwan will taunt him if Ridwan finds out Ansel has finally gone to see Clara. What's clear is that Ansel must see Clara immediately.

Upon arriving at Clara's parents' house, Ansel finds the house looking deserted. Ansel thought that the house looked deserted because the only ones living there were Clara and a servant.

When Ansel knocked on the door, Ansel was astonished that the one who opened the door was not Clara, but a servant.

“Auntie, is Clara inside?”

“Sorry, Sir. Miss Clara, if it's daytime like this, it's usually on the plantation. Every day Miss Clara always comes down directly to see the results of the plantation,” explained the waiter.

Ansel nodded his head. “Then I will follow Clara there,” she said then leave from there.

The distance between Clara's house and the plantation is not too far away. It took only fifteen minutes for Ansel to arrive at the plantation.

“Sorry, Sir. Did you see Clara?” ask Ansel.

After thanking her, Ansel walked towards a house that was none other than the plantation office. On every plantation owned by their families, there is a house that will be the work space of the plantation managers.

“Om Ansel, please come in, Om,” Clara said, letting Ansel into her study. Clara welcomed Ansel's arrival with a smile, as if she was welcoming guests in general.

Clara invited Ansel to sit down while he went to the coffee table in the corner of the room to make coffee for Ansel. After that, he sat in his great chair opposite Ansel.

“Tumben once Om get here. What's up, Om? Does Om want to check our harvest candidates?”

“I'm not here to discuss about work,” Ansel said with an annoyed face.

The man was upset because Clara's attitude had completely changed. Clara was even very professional in front of him. Ansel seemed to be unable to find the spoiled figure inside Clara anymore. In fact, it was the spoiled nature of the girl that Ansel had longed for.

“Then, what do you want Om to talk about?” clara asked while frowning her forehead.

“Stop being formal in front of me, Clara.”

Clara smiled. “Sorry, Om. But right now we are in working hours. So, I have to be formal in front of Om.”

“Fuck with it all, Clara! What do you really want?” ansel asked and rubbed his face with a huff.

“I don't understand what you mean, Om.” Clara took her breath. “I also remember I didn't ask anything from you, Om.”

“You avoided Om, Clara. You also do not want to reply to short messages or even raise a call from Om. Why did you change like this?” urged Ansel.

Clara smiled, trying to remain calm even though in her heart she wanted to be very angry because Ansel was insensitive.

“Om, I just realized that what Om said all along is true. My feeling for Om is something wrong. I shouldn't love my own Om.” Clara smiled gently. “Om, I'm really sorry and I promise that I will be a good nephew to you.”

Hearing that, instead of being happy Ansel was even more upset.

“Clara, I want you to act like you used to.”

Clara shakes. “Can't, Om. What has happened cannot be repeated, ” he replied.
