L A 7 - Second Chance

Arriving at the headquarters of the Shardpterans Guild, Leo felt a murderous chill from within. Realizing that he was most likely being framed, Leo simply stood before the door of the Shardpterans Guild headquarters until a man opened the door and walked up to him.

“What do you do at midnight like this boy?” asked the man who was none other than Evan, Laxus' right-hand man as well as serving as Vice Chairman of the Shardpterans Guild.

“I'm here because of Uncle Laxus.” Leo also explains to Evan about the entrance exam that Laxus is referring to.

Instantly Evan's expression changed like one who disliked Leo's presence. Even this makes Leo uncomfortable because Evan's gaze is more towards jealousy.

“Alright, you better get inside. Since Chairman Laxus gave you special treatment, then I am the same. Defeat one witch and take her place in the Shardpterans Guild. Easy enough, right?” evidently Evan was short, dense and clear.

But Evan's real intent is a life-and-death fight that his members will obviously win. Evan himself does not know how strong Leo is with the ability of the Shinigami eye. Evan was wrong to choose people even though Leo was fifteen years old, but in his previous life Leo was used to all this.

“Good.” Leo confidently entered the headquarters of the Shardpterans Guild.

Then Evan flicked his finger as dozens of people came out showing himself in front of Leo. They all stared coldly at Leo and some of them even gave off a murderous aura.

“I want one of you to be willing to be this boy's opponent. The rules are easy, if this boy beats you, then he will take your place here, and vice versa,” said Evan.

Before long a man wearing glasses came forward and smiled dismissively at Leo.

“Then I will be your opponent!” The man did not cover up his killing lust even Evan smiled cunningly knowing that.

Leo who felt disadvantaged and was framed from the beginning was only calm even when Evan led the game and started it.

‘Using Xeon's physical abilities seems to be enough.’ Leo took a deep look when he saw his opponent unleashing a massive amount of magic aura.

That magic aura turned into lightning and fused with his hand. Afterwards the man jumped towards Leo with his strongest blow.

“Boxing of the God of Lightning!”

All the witches including Evan cheered but Leo calmly fended him off using his right hand until the sound of broken bones echoed loudly.

THE CRUTCHES!!!

“Death to you boy-” The man shouted out loud before he realized his right hand was crooked, “Eh?”

“Argh! My hand!” Instantly the man panicked and looked at Leo sharply.

“Boxing of the God of Lightning? You..” Leo looked at his opponent who was sitting on the ground, “Handering also had its limit. What would the world say if a God's fist was held easily by a human?”

Leo's words made the man stand up and attack again. But before touching Leo's body, the man was sprawled on the ground as Leo kicked his head.

“Vice Chairman, did I qualify?” Then Leo looked at the dumbfounded Evan.

“Eh? Escaped it? This is impossible?” Evan still can't believe it.

“Sorry boy! You won't escape because you're going to die here!” Evan released a magic aura and looked at Leo coldly.

“Chairman Laxus should be satisfied with me and not need another partner! I'm gonna kill you! I'll kill you!” Evan created a number of swords flying in the air from the magic aura he manipulated.

“Hah? Are you crazy? So that uncle..” Leo noticed how Evan manipulated his magic aura, “If I was young, but I was normal. I'm sorry, before that fucking uncle touches me, he'll kill me.”

“Your mouth will tear the boy!” shouted Evan.

“Cih! Crazyhead!” aspersons Leo.

Before long dozens of flying swords were chasing Leo. Not just swords but all the members of the Shardpterans Guild were eyeing him.

“You are all losers. Ganged up on a boy, don't you guys have any pride?” Leo smiled mockingly.

“Phoenix... No. gabe... Are you from the Kingdom of Phoenix?” Evan broke out in a cold sweat to see the changes in Leo's form.

“No, I am not from the Kingdom of Phoenix but the Kingdom of Avalon.” Leo replied.

“Avalon said you?” Evan becomes alert when he sees Leo destroy his sword and kill his members.

“It doesn't matter because you're going to die, strange man!” Leo unleashed his greater magic aura before creating ten swords of magic aura and cutting off the witches that attacked him.

Knowing every magic technique they have Leo can copy and use, Evan finally realizes the ancient story of the Shinigami eye.

“Don't say it's a Shinigami's eye.” Evan is unable to move when he sees all of his members dead.

Leo looked at Evan and would not take the man's life easily because he knew Evan had a lot of information he wanted to know.

“Ryuuen..”

Leo took out the form of the Death God Ryuuen before Evan and stared coldly at the man.

“Monster!” Evan panicked and before long both of his hands were held by the Death God Ryuuen.

“Tell me everything you know about Carta Academy, Sylv Kingdom and information about Queen Sylv!” Leo threatened and gave off an extremely concentrated aura.

Evan wanted to bite his tongue but he could not do it.

“About suicide? You can't do it. Now you're under my control. I will torture you slowly,” Leo said.

“I... I... love Chairman Laxus!” evan.

“Hah? I'm not asking that stupid! Who is interested in relationships between men! Crazyhead!” leo then creates a sword and stabs Evan in the stomach.

“There are many things I want to ask you. The sooner you say it, the sooner I kill you!”

Before long Evan fearfully tells Leo all the information he wants, including the internal matters of the noble family and the Floral Kingdom. A few minutes before taking his last breath, Evan told Leo the location of the Guild Shardpterans treasure depository and important documents.

Leo immediately retrieves the documents that he thinks are important until he accidentally finds a map and a list of targets for King Marcus Floral's murder. Leo took it and using the magic technique of the Death God Ryuuen, Leo stored it in an infinite storage space called the Predator Skill.

The Shardpterans Guild's wealth storage also did not escape Leo's loot. Afterwards Leo deliberately set fire to the headquarters of the Shardpterans Guild to create an uproar before returning to the Laxus residence.

But before arriving at the residence, Leo overheard a conversation of the townspeople who said there was a public execution in the city center. Leo headed there and found the lifeless Eugene.

The scene of Eugene's death reminds Leo of his old life where he could not protect Mugen despite successfully killing the entire Demon Wing gang.

Leo involuntarily laughed hysterically and said, “Sometimes there is a second chance to do the same.”

Unconcerned about the surroundings staring at him, Leo dissolved in his feelings before Laxus' voice resuscitated him.

“Leo... What are you doing here? Did you make it through the test?!”

Leo stopped laughing and looked directly at the source of the voice. There he finds Laxus with Amaro and Carlos who are guarded by two men.

“To make me kill you!” Instantly the fire spread on Leo's body before the villagers ran in fear at seeing Leo.

“See! There was a fire from the direction of the Shardpterans Guild!” One of the residents shouted pointing at the burning building and the reddened sky.

Laxus realizes that something is wrong here, so he looks at Leo with caution.

“Looks like you're not a brat.”
